Cauldron Gunk Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

A smooth, lathery, light green in color. This smells very clean and fresh and slightly herbal. Perhaps like fresh plants with a smattering of green tea. There's a smooth creamy background, which is lovely in combination with the greeness. Very refreshing, not at all what I expected this to smell like!! Nice

Rose Red Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

Gorgeous. Just perfect, it smells EXACTLY like Rose Red oil, amazingly accurate. I've noticed that a few of the other soaps don't quite "translate" scent - wise, but Rose Red is dead on. It's a strong, silky, beautiful pinkish red soap. This is rivaled only by Snake Oil soap as my favorite. I wish I has bought a few more bars, I could bathe in this every day for the rest of my life. Absolutely beautiful!

    Aquarius 2007

Soft, floral, feminine, intriguing, shape shifting. There is a noticeable pomegranate note, which I like very much, and it lends a crisp fruity quality to the undertone. The wisteria pretty much overwhelms the rest of the notes, and it very strong, powdery and potent on my skin. Very lovely and inviting. Strong throw when first applied and lasts awhile too. Probably not my top choice for everyday wear, but very lovely in it's own way.

    Angeronalia

... Strength, passion, and the cleansing fire of joy: olive blossom, white nectarine, vibrant blood orange, honey absolute, lemongrass, elemi, sensual patchouli, and the quiet purity of gardenia. This is just plain pretty. I'm not a huge floral person, but I like this very much. It's a soft, sweeping, all encompassing floral; sweet gardenia with just a hint of ......refreshing. It's kind of hard to explain, but there is a certain clean, crispness to this floral. I guess this must be the lemongrass and nectarine. The crispness is nicely balanced with a smooth, soothing honeyed herbal note. The honey absolute comes out to play with the patchouli, for a beautiful result. Quite a bit of strength for a floral blend. This is a decadent, richly feminine scent, and I think it's just gorgeous!

    Old Moon

A frozen, chilly, pine forest winter scent. My first thought is Skadi, without quite so much of a bite. This is a familiar scent for me, as I find pine very comforting. My husband's favorite scent is Skadi, so I'm sure he'll love this. It's quite masculine, not my kind of thing to wear, but quite lovely to sniff. A beautiful scent, but I have quite a few like this already. (Skadi, Ice Queen, Snow Bunny, Snow Moon etc.)

    Kill-Devil

Oh yum! A rich, foody, thick smelling scent. Like sweet molasses, with a honeyed base, and an oak, earthy background. A very interesting scent indeed! It is what I would imagine a giant honey hive in the middle of a big, ancient oak forest would smell like. This is a very cool scent! On the dry down the super sweetness tones down, and it's left smelling like a woodsy honey blend. Not a lot of throw, but very sweet and yummy.

    Melpomene

A sharp, straight forward, bright eyed scent. It smells mainly of mint and geranium on me, with a hint of citrusey background. This mint note is clean and sharp, and sort of confuses my senses mixed with citrus and floral. It a contrary scent in the same way Delirium is. An odd combination, but it works somehow. Not quite my thing, but lovely in it's own way.

    Tanuki

Yup yup, this definitely reminds me of Fire Pig too. It's that same bright citrusey freshness. This is a sweet orangey delight; soft yet intoxicating. There is a creaminess to this that sets it apart from Fire Pig. Where Fire Pig is sharply bright and intense, this is muted, innocent and alluring. I like this very much, but it doesn't last very long on me. Since it's mostly a toned down Fire Pig on me, I think I'll just stick with the Pig. This is very beautiful, though.

    Ligur

Dark, earthen, wet, moldy, dank spanish moss. Yep, this is certainly creepy and evil smelling. I would have sworn there was vetiver in this, it has that deep resinous feeling that never agrees with me. Strong, pungent and wickedly icky. Scary, this is what a creepy swamp monster should smell like. The boy will probably love it.

    Fairy Wine

Wow this is just lovely! Pretty much a perfect combination of dandelion, honey and red currant each in its equal part. I absolutely love those 3 notes, so how could I go wrong with this one? There is a definite boozy, drunken base to the blend which blends beautifully with the fabulous honey note the lab uses. The dandelion is so sweet and certainly lends the blend a "faery folk" feel. This is pretty much exactly how I would imagine a fairy wine to smell! Spot on! Love it, would buy a bottle!

    Sea of Tranquility

A light, wafting, dusty, dim, night time floral blend. I can smell mostly the lotus, but this has a bit of that generic, white, drug store floral thing going on too. This does remind me a bit of Stardust, but with out the sharp effervescence. There is an oddly shadowy, dust note to the background which makes it smell sort of strange on the dry down. This is very very light and short lived on my skin. Not quite my thing, unfortunately.

    Egg'd Mailbox

I'm soo glad I got my hands on a bottle of this!! Yup, as the other reviews have said, a yummy, creamy custard scent. There is a slightly cinnamony, spice cabinet base to this blend. There is a hint of honeyed creaminess that reminds me a bit of O. There is also a hint of something sweet that I can't quite identify, like a powdery floral; but this is very faint. Definitely a sweet, fun, innocent smelling oil. Just lovely!! I love it!

    Noche Buena

Gorgeous!!! I'm not usually a huge an of florals; the only two I've ever loved were Rose Red and The Bearded Lady. Now I can add Noche Buena to that list! A beautiful, strong, girly floral. Dark pink, penetrating, no nonsense and intoxicating. This is a very strong blend for a floral, which is great in my book. I think this smells mostly like tiger lily and plumeria on me; two of my favorites. This could replace Sleepy Moon for me as my night time blend, since I have such a hard time getting my hands on that one. Fabulous! Try this one even if you think you don't like florals.

    La Befana

I ordered this because I was dying to know what "candy charcoal" smelled like; and wow, what a unique scent! Yes, this really does smell like candy charcoal. It's super sweet, but in a pink powdery way, like Lush's Rockstar fragrance. There is a chalky, dusty aspect to the sweetness that is almost indescribable. This manages to be pink, yet black at the same time, which is truly hard to achieve in a scent! There is a vague floral background behind the dusty sweetness. This unfortunately doesn't last very long, and has faded just a few minutes after it was applied. Very different: I don't love it, but I don't hate it. I think I'll give it some more time.

    Fruitcake

Yay! So excited to get an imp of this in my order! YUM! Smells much better to me than actual fruitcake! Sweet, buttery vanilla cake with a deliciously fruity undertone and a smattering of spiciness. The fruit notes smell like sugar plum and apple, with maybe a hint of cherry too. There is a christmasy, almost gingerbread quality to this blend; it reminds me of my mom's Dutch bread, which has a sweet cinnamon sugar crust. This is just lovely and I would definitely buy a big 'ole bottle of this if it gets released!!

    El Dia de los Reyes

OMFG!!! This is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the chocolatey scent I have been waiting for! At first sniff : Yum, creamy hot chocolate with a strong, delicious cinnamon base. This smells like the real deal hot cocoa grandma used to make, where you actually melt real chocolate in hot milk. Add a smattering of cinnamon and love, and, wa -la! El Dia de Reyes! The best thing about this scent is how strong it is. Most chocolate blends don't hang around very long, but thanks to the cinnamon in this, I can smell it for hours. I'm so thrilled with this scent, I will definitely be getting a back up bottle!

    October

This is a perfect blend between a sophisticated men's cologne and a leafy, lovely, autumn air smell. It's like making out with a hot guy next to a fragrant pile of leaves! Now, come on, who doesn't enjoy that?? On the dry down, the leaf note comes out a bit more, and smells a bit more "dead." This is very much a masculine essence of the month of October. The boy will love this, but it's not quite my thing.

    Bonfire Night

Sweet, thick, caramelized burning leaves. Yup, this baby sure does smell like a bonfire! How does Beth do that?? It's magical This is much sweeter than I would have imagined, like someone threw some cinnamon caramel sticks on the top of the fire. The smoke note is strong and deep, exactly like a log burning. This is very interesting, unlike any other. Not quite my thing, but the hubbie will **LOVE** this in his stocking!

    The Death of Autumn

It's no surprise to me that this one doesn't work for me, it was bought as a stocking stuffer for my husband, who will love it. This smells exactly like an ashtray full of sweet cigar butts on me. There is a strong but sweet tobacco - like aspect to this blend that reminds me of walking in a smoke shop. Sooo totally not my thing, but for people who like this type of blend: you''ll love this one! It's very, very strong and extraordinarily long lasting. Neat, but nicer on the boy.

    Ivanushka

Soft, powdery, resinous and woodsy all at the same time. This instantly reminded me of Hunter Moon; it has that same velvety undertone with a rich powdery overtone. This will definitely be a hit with the hubbie, and is a Christmas present for him.

    Sagittarius 2007

Gorgeous, smooth, refreshing and earthey. I was surprised when I read the ingredients, because this really smells like white honey on me, I was sure there was some in there. Yep, white honey with a soft, green clover undertone; intoxicatingly sweet and clean at the same time. This is sooo unique, and I am so pleasantly surprised by how much i like this!! It's so beautiful; I find it so drunkenly sweet the same way O is on me. I will certainly be enjoying my bottle of this. My only complaint is it only lasts about 2 hours on my skin. Oh well, smells damn good!

    Long Night Moon

Sweet, cool, dark, crisp, and lovely all at the same time. This is very creeping, and definitely a night time brew. It makes me think of shadows and dark gardens. There is a crispness behind the softness of the florals that gives this a bit of an "under" bite, lol. Very mysterious, airy, purpley hazey scent. Makes me want to curl up on soft fresh sheets and sleep.

    Pumpkin III (2007)

This is a wonderful, delicious pumpkin caramel!! Soooo cavity inducing, this is ultra sweet and makes me drool. The caramel note is very strong, and there is a smooth chocolate base. I can catch a hint of the pomegranate every once in awhile, but it definitely takes a back seat. This is a dream scent for me, foody lovers will dig this big time. I love it, probably my favorite PP from '07.

    Pumpkin IV (2007)

My first thought was pumpkin and fresh hay! This is really different. The pumkpin base is there, but it's hiding beneath a thick veil of earthy, fresh sage and the lovely greeness of sweetgrass. Sort of like an earthen pumpkin incense. Very hard to describe, but rather pleasing to the nose. Maybe not my favorite PP scent, but very beautiful in it's own right.

    Pumpkin V (2007)

Yum!! Spicy, orange pumpkin goodness!! This is very warm and spicy, very foody and delicious. The red ginger and blood orange come out on top, with a baked pumpkiny base. There is a hint of vanilla, so this smells like a creamy orange pumpkin cake with cinnamon frosting. Just lovely. On the dry down, a lemon note comes out and replaces the blood orange. Very interesting, yummy scent!
