Not what I was expecting at all! I love Strawberry moon (the more recent one, I haven't tried the older one), so I really wanted to try this. This is SWEET. I was hoping the champagne would ground the strawberries and make them cleaner, but from this I learned that boozy scents just mean sweet scents. I was also hoping for more of a natural strawberry scent, but this smells like strawberry flavoring. My uncle used to work for Kraft, and his job was to make artificial flavors. He gave my dad sample of their strawberry flavoring, and this is what the Strawberry smelled like. Artificial. Sigh...High hopes for this one too.

This is a delicate sharp scent. Slightly wipsy. Fades very very quickly. But there's a sharp, crisp lively scent to it, with a slight sweetness. A slightly medicianl or astringent smell, but not unpleasantI don't know what heather smells like ,but this definitely isn't the blackberry. Good for summer.
  3. The new grass body wash smells like Squirting Cucumber. Love this body wash by the way!

    Black Cat

I like this one. Not just for the name. :b Definite roses. Pink possibly. Slightly sweet. And definitely has amber. This has the distinct scent of the powdery yumminess. There's something else that makes this not unbareably sweet, but a bit more grounded. Myrrh maybe. Smells watery more than powdery. Love it! If you are a rose lover, definitely worth a try. I'll use up my imp, but I have other rose and amber scents that I prefer.

Wow, I haven't been on here in a long time!! I've tried many scent sin the months that I haven't been on here and I just just remeber what they've smelled like on my skin. So, here's my review. This smells like a cleaner Embalming Fluid, without the musk. More alcoholic, like cologne. Slightly more feminine. Citrus, lemon, and alcohol. refreshing. One of my new favorites!

    Osun

In the imp: Sweet, rotting fruits and artificial Flintstones vitamins. My boyfriend likes this in the imp so I will try it. Wet: Very heavy sweet cardboard, fruit vitamin smell. Really reminds me of the vitamins I tool as a child. Loved the taste, but... Dry: Same as wet, but there is an old lipstick smell. And an old foundation smell. Overall: This is not for me. It doesn't give me a headache and I don't just dislike it (like I dislike patchouli). And it's not even my skin chemistry that doesn't like it. I just find this scent unpleasant. A little off, i guess, Like the oil went bad or something. Really, unpleasant is the best way to describe this for me. And of the 2 scents, Osun and Olokun, I was looking forward to this one! Alas.

    Olokun

In the imp: Ocean water, sweet melons. Slight b.o. smell. The one in Egle. Wet: Melons and faint B.O. in the background. Slight cologne. Dry:Oooh, all melons. Watermelon and cantaloupe. Much sweeter artificial, melon smell. No cologne, no salty ocean, just watermelon. It reminds me of that gum I always used to get in China Town. Comes in a box, small round bubble gum balls. The green cantaloupe one. That's what this smells like. Overall: I like the drydown. Almost everything that this starts off as fades, and it remains fruity and feminine. Will use the imp.

    Brusque Violet

In the imp: Watery, violet mint candy. Fresh mint leaves. Wet: Smells like sweet ocean water. With sugar. Dry: Green bright, fresh baby leaves...and watery candy.... Overall: I love violet! And this isn't really violet. But it's still light and lovely. A good summer scent. Light and girly! And refreshing!

    Antony

In the imp: Lavender, crisp clean herbs. There's something powdery, but still masculine. Wet: Frankincense and basil. Still something powdery. Dry: Powdery lavender (don't know where I'm getting that from). Reminds me of Ode on Melancholy or Pain. Overall: I really like this scent. Not what I was expecting. I was expecting something more masculine, not as powdery. Will use my imp!

    Imperious Tiger-Lily

In the imp: Oh oh....soap. Floral soap and honey suntan lotion...um... Wet: Ok, better. Has the warm honey scent of the original Tiger Lily. Still soapy, but it's fading. I was worried that this would have THAT lily. Dry: Not soapy, but still suntan lotion. It's strange. It does dry down to a slightly similar to the original Tiger Lily. At least reminiscent of the original. Overall: One of my favorite scents is the original Tiger Lily, that's why I tried this one, kind of hopping they would be similar. Alas, they are not. But, I think that the honey note is similar enough that I will wear the imp.

    Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht

In the Bottle: Reminds me of Drink me. Foody. Wet: Unlike Drink me, doesn't turn into musky vanilla. A warmer smell, like the honey vanilla in O. But sweeter, probably from the caramel. Dry: Something perfumey comes through. A floral, possibly. Overall: You know, I was not expecting to like this as much as I do! I love O and I love the first stages of Drink me! And this is the 2 combined! Doesn't last as long as O, but I would still wear it and reapply.

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

In the bottle: Strange burned candy smell. Very spicy, but a floral spicy, not cinnamon or something like that. Doesn't burn, Wet: Similar to in the bottle. Still spicy. I think that's the carnation. Dry: Creamy carnations. I'm also getting lemon rind. A crisp, crisp citrus scent in the background. Overall: Not really what I expected, but I wasn't really expecting anything. I liked the concept so I got a bottle. I'm glad I did. Love the creaminess, but it's not too tooth achingly creamy because of the carnation. A well balanced blend!

    Yvaine

In the bottle: Lavender. The lavender in Ode on Melancholy. Lighter than typical lavender. Wet: Still lavender. Waiting for the magnolia... Dry: Finally, the magnolia comes out. Lush and crisp, with the relaxing scent of lavender. Overall: Pretty much what I expected. Magnolia and lavender. I love both, so this works for me!! And, it's Neil Gaiman, and it's Yvaine. Can't be better!

    Chaste Moon 2010

In the bottle: Even though I love Candles Moon, this is how Candles Moon should have smelled! bright, crisp, clear. Definite florals and something green, possibly grass or bright herbs. Wet: Reminds me of Occurance at the Diner. That floral salad smell. Still crisp and bright, but has a watery scent. As if you washed salad leaves in water, I guess. Dry: Occurance at the Diner and Enchanted Wood Florist mixed. No cream whatsoever on my skin. Which is strange because cream usually amps or at least turns musky. But no cream at all. I'm getting more milk than cream. Overall: I love this! I wish I got 2 bottles! Not what I was expecting at all, either. I was expecting more milky creaminess, and snow. A creamy Snow Moon. But I get none of that. A lovely feminine, pure scent. Very faint, fades more quickly than I would like, but still very lovely.

    Rose Cross

This is just all rose on me. From the imp to dry down, lovely, lovely roses. Not too powdery, or sweet, or heavy, not too dry, not too crispy and green. The frankincense is there in the background, but so faint, it just compliments the rose. If I didn't have so many BPAL rose scents I would probably get a bottle! It reminds me of Black Rose, without the darkness. The Rose without the slight musky paperiness. So many other rose scents this reminds me of that are blended, but this is just rose. Great throw and lasts a long, long time! Again, !!! Also, reminds me of The Miller's Daughter, The Little Wooden Doll, and it does smell like the rose in Katrina Van Tassel, as other people have mentioned.

    The Queen of Hearts

In the imp: Artificial cherry seltzer water and soap. What's with my skin and soap scents lately? I think it's the calla lily. That's the usual culprit! Wet: Not as artificial. The cherry smells more like a cherry pit than actual cherry. It has that slight marzipan smell and not the red, red fruit. Still slightly red smelling though. The lily of the valley comes out slightly in its loveliness, but still soapy. Dry: Lily of the valley sweet, light, slightly powdery! Love this part. But the soap is still there and it might give me a headache at the end of the day. Overall: I might try this again on a better day when not everything smells like soap to me. Love the lily of the valley. Worth a second try, but I won't buy a bottle.

    Nuit

In the imp: Florals. Can tell that it might turn soapy on me. Sharp soapy, not just gardenia or Irish Spring soap. Wet: Soapy florals, just as I thought. Very heavy, sharp and dark. I can smell the white rose trying to come out, but the soap and jasmine are winning. Dry: Jasmine overpowers everything. Very heavy and dark, almost hippy shop. Not as soapy as I thought, but it's still giving me a headache. Overall: Generic soapy floral. I love floral scents, but this is a little too heavy. Not for me!

    Black Pearl

In the imp: Heavy dark fruit (plum maybe) and coconut suntan lotion. Wet: Cocoa butter. Or tanning oil, not lotion. And it has a slight soapy floral smell in the background. Dry: Playdough and suntan lotion. Overall: When I was little, and my family and I went to FL, my mom always used this tanning oil that I thought smells awful and she always made me use it because I'm pale and she thought I needed a tan, it was good for my skin, etc... I think the forcing part made me not like it more than anything (other than the smell and the fact that it was impossible to wash off and I was oily and sticky for days afterward). This scent reminds me of that. Even before the playdough phase. Not for me, alas.

    Snooty Rose

In the imp: Rose flavored bubble gum. Wet: Now this is my kind of smell! A heavy, sweet pink and red rose that hits your sinuses and the back of your throat. you can almost taste it! A bit too candied, but not like bubble gum, like a hard candy. Strawberry hard candy and roses. You know, the candy that has the wrapper that looks like a strawberry? Dry: Lipstick and roses. (Why am I getting all of these strange things.) But I like the smell of lipstick. Overall: I didn't know what to expect, except that if a scent has rose in it and no patchouli, I'll probably like it. And I like this. A bit too artificial for my taste, but I'll definitely use my imp. My skin works well with rose and by the end of the day, this will definitely stay strong and true on my skin.

    Villain

In the imp: Lavender and lime juice. Very light. Not the usual heavy lavender. And doesn't smell like an expected cologne. Just a light clean fragrance. Like a refreshing room spray. Wet: Ooohh, I like this! Not masculine at all. Gender neutral I would say. Very light and crisp. Pleasant lavender and lilac. Slightly citrussy without being sweet or too much like rind. Gentle soap. Like a baby's soap, but not powdery. Dry: I want a bottle. Smells like baby (as in a baby product), gender neutral cologne. That's the only way I can describe it. Oh, also smells like something i would get in Europe, a soap or deodorant, or body wash that you find in any European store for cheap. Like Fa or something. Overall: Love this. Will use my imp. The description didn't sound like something I would wear. Very masculine and heavy, and I don't like lilac oil. But this is something else. Love it!

    Bastet

In the imp: Sweet almonds (marzipan) and medicinal candy (cherry cough syrup). I've been getting a lot of these cough syrup scents lately! Wet: Almonds and flowers. Can;t really put my finger on anything. The cherry medicine scent is gone, but smells strange. Really smells as if I layered several BPAL scents and they're all fighting to win. Just strange. Dry: There's a floral in here that I love! Smells like Enchanted Wood Florist. With marzipan, or even irish cream and caramel(?!?!). And musky fruit. Overall: I don't really like the scent initially. Not a fan of almond, but it works in this blend. Very strange. Not sure if my nose is off today, or if it's just an interesting and strange blend.
  22. Caerphilly

    Nero

In the imp: astringent cologne. Smells....sterile... Wet: Smells like sea breeze. Dry: I'm getting some sort of burned meat smell drenched in astringent. Overall: This really didn't work for me. Too much cleaner, pinesol, sea breeze, alcohol, astringent. This is the scent of clean, but a hospital clean scent. Not something I would wear as a perfume. And, being a vegetarian, the meat smell really, really bothered me! Not for me at all!
  23. Caerphilly

    March Hare

In the imp: Apricots! Fresh bowl of apricots! Wet: Apricots and something spicy and sweet. It's the clove. Smells a bit like a yankee candle. Dry: Yankee candle store all the way. No more apricots. Overall: I love, love, love the apricot smell in the imp! But the yankee candle smell I just can't do!
  24. Caerphilly

    The Little Wooden Doll

In the imp: Dry pencil shavings. Not golden and there's no rose. Just the smell of sawdust. Wet: Smells like wood. Dry wood. I was really hoping for more rose and amber, and less of the sandalwood. Dry: The rose very delicately comes out. There's a soft amber coming in, powdery as it always does on my skin. I like that part. But, it still smells heavily of wood. Overall: I knew this would smell like some sort of wood, it is a wooden doll after all! But it was a bit too much for me. I got the imp for the rose, and the rose is too faint for my tastes. I'l let it age and see if the rose gets stronger over time.

    The Red Queen

In the imp: I was expecting cough syrup and wood (and I wanted to try this scent anyway because that seemed interesting!). Not quite what I expected. Smells like sugared cherry hard candies. Sweet, sweet, sweet artificial generic red candy smell. I like it! Wet: This is a deep, dark brown and deep velvety red scent. The mahogany comes out, making it the primary note. The candy is still in the background making this not smell so dry. Dry: Musky red fruit and dusty, old wet fabric and dark wood. Um... Overall: I'm not a fan of wood smells, and this is no exception. I think the only exception has been Ouija. I love the candy smell, not really to wear it, but it reminds me of childhood. But that fades very quickly and turns into an old dusty velvet and mahogany couch. Not my taste. Reminds me of Leaf-Strewn Couch or Velvet. (obviously... )
