I don't have a slipper I love yet, but I'm working on it. So, which of these things might you like? Give me some thoughts on colors you like & if for a teapot or press, I need to know a size. Yes! But mostly masks as my living space is small and I have nowhere to put prints. If you knit/crochet/weave, would you like custom dyed yarn? And if so do you have preference on weight, fiber, colors? Yes! I prefer medium weight, for the most part - big fan of cotton and bamboo, but as I'm ballin' on a budget I mostly only buy acryllics unless I'm making dishcloths. what is one fun/frivolous thing for $20 or less that you’d enjoy? Books? IDK, I'm usually looking at fun, frivolous things for my husband or kids. If I sent you to a dollar store with $20, what would you walk out with? Posterboard (we always need those here), containers, gift packaging 9/5/20 what are your feelings on home made/ home canned jams & pickles or syrups? For example, a brand you've heard of that you're especially wanting to try, or a certain "thing" that you really want but just cant bring yourself to buy for yourself?? Not particularly, no. Would you rather receive supplies/tools for your own craft/hobby or receive something you can't make yourself? Either/both! I’ve started a collection of Lykke knitting needles ... Is there anything you'd like from Penzeys (https://www.penzeys.com/)? I added a few gift sets to my universal wish list via Amazon. 9/3/20 Would you like anything from here? https://www.etsy.com/shop/TaterRoundsBeauty I’ll poke around and add some things to my etsy list if so, but while I would enjoy it I didn’t see anything that particularly called to me. 9/2/20 Would you like a face mask from one of my favorite artists? https://akumuink.com/collections/facemasks I added it to my amazon universal list, but I ADORE the plague doctor one. one of our fellow BPAL friends makes custom masks, Hakutaku Custom Masks on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/HakutakuMasks/ ). Would anyone be interested in one of her masks? So many pretty fabrics! Yes, please. 9/1/20 are you familiar with https://www.a-natural-alternative.com/ ? Take a peak & let me know if you might like to try something. Any of the lotion sticks or lip balms 8/30/20 Is there anything you want from Japan? Current kit kat flavors are... Salty Lemon, Salty Lychee, Sweet Potato, Chestnut and possibly still some Cookies and Cream Ice Cream or Strawberry Ice Cream from summer. Other than that, anime goods, cute stationery, other Japanese snacks, lay it on me! Yes to all the Japanese kitkats and potato chip flavors! Also, all the cute stationary and stickers. What are your favorite self-care items or activities? I'm especially curious about things that you hesitate to do/get because they feel like frivolous luxuries. I don’t really do self care. 8/29/20 Does anything from Paintbox Soapworks catch your eye (http://paintboxsoapworks.com/)? I’m intrigued by the facial products, and the Buttercup scent sounds amazing. All of the Weenie hair/perfume oils sound amazing, and also Kattegat, Halcyon, and GTFO ... some of the summer LEs ... Does anything from the Trading Post's etsy page catch your eye (https://www.etsy.com/shop/bptradingpost)? Will check and add it to the etsy list if so!
  2. 9/18/19 Would you like anything from Future Primitive? (It's fine to mention OOS things) https://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk/ I've never tried any of it - feel free to introduce me to something new! Thenwhipped soaps look particularly interesting. Does anyone have a favorite horror movie that they love? Need a copy/DVD of? We mostly do the streaming thing, these days - small flat means limited storage space. Do you like smallish knitted stuff (hats, fingerless mittens, scarves, toys, etc. -- be specific!)? Generally not hats. Anything else, sure! Do any of these knitted items appeal to you? Easy Fingerless Mittens - sure! Pfeilraupe Asymmetrical Scarf - very pretty, but not really my thing Odyssey Shawl - yes! Close to You scarf - yes! Rikke Slouch Hat - if it were a particularly light yarn, maybe? I'm almost always hot and hats make it so much worse. Simple Yet Effective Cowl - sure! Knitted Pumpkins - sure! Little Bear Stuffy - sure! How do you feel about thrift store finds (assuming they're in good condition and have been thoroughly cleaned before shipping)? 100% okay. 9/20/19 I may have bought several full size Rituel de Fille makeup items in a frenzy over their whole vibe. If I tested something once or twice (and it can be sanitized), would you be interested? Eh, sure. I like trying new things! Are you interested in trying different skincare products from higher end, clean brands? Sure! Any interest in anything from Torrid, noting their "fangirl" and Halloween collections are updated? Yes, but I'm an employee. A gift certificate would be best in this case, unless you are also an employee. What on the following list would you like to receive something related to (or have something donated to in your and Joni's honor?) · animal rescue - sure! My GS troop made toys for an animal rescue one year. · pie - yum! · dogs - I love dogs. · bears - sure · turtles - I love turtles · inappropriate candies (either in shape or in contents—ex., boozy candies, creatively shaped peanut brittle…) - sure I'll be going to Seattle, London and Paris during this round- anything you'd love to have from any of these locations? Starbucks mugs! The city/state/attraction-specific ones. Is there anything you would particularly like from Japan? Stationary, bento supplies, a particular snack, etc. The fall flavors for kitkats this year are Chestnut, Sweet Potato and Apple Pie. Starbucks mugs! And everything on this list sounds great. 9/22/19 Thinking about really good natural food stores like Natural Grocers or Whole Foods, if you could have ANY bath and beauty or body care items, what would you love? I don't think anything in particular. Also what kind of treats, snacks, foods, condiments, bulk items, teas, housewares from the same natural food stores would you love? Fancy mustards, everything bagel seasoning, black or white teas ... IDK what else. We're Aldi people, here. Also, are there any particular sustainable kitchen or household items you would love to receive? Crocheted/knitted dish cloths and scrubbers - I make them for others, but never get around to doing them for myself. 9/23/19 Did anything catch your eye from the Liliths? They all sound really good - ideally, I'd have a decent of each. Same for the Fatherhoods, and Impeachments. Would you like anything from Lush? I'm intrigued by shower jellies, and could use some rouge henna.

10/13/19 If I was to donate to an animal rescue on your behalf as the "lucyboo" component of this swap, is there one in particular that you would choose? You've already done this for me, witchee, and I love turtles! Good choice. 10/15/19 What is your very favorite Halloween candy? If you don't have one/don't do candy, what's a seasonal treat you love? Brach's candy corn, most things chocolate I just got an email from Lush that their Christmas stuff is now up online! anything you might like? Probably! I don't do baths, though, so it would have to be things good for in the shower. 10/18/19 If you were my witchee, would you enjoy home made (canned) preserves? I'm going home to Can All The Things & I'm thinking some bananas foster butter/sauce might be a nifty thing for you. Yes! Absolutely. 10/19/19 I am in Las Vegas is there anything you would want from here? An old style Starbucks mug, the You Are Here variety, if you can find it.

9/30/19 do you have a favourite saying or quote? I actually collect quotes! I have many favorites, but am also always on the lookout for new, interesting ones. How do you feel about spicy foods, and where on the Scoville scale do you hit your limit? For the most part, probably around 50000 with occational tastings further/higher. How do you feel about coloring books, especially those pertaining to a personal interest or fandom? I find that most adult coloring books, with their tiny spaces to fill and intricate detail, give me anxiety rather than alleviating it. That said, if you got your hands on some kids' coloring books that were all coloring pages, I'd be all about it! 10/1/19 A few questions have been asked about knitted items--are crocheted equivalents acceptable? (crocheted fingerless gloves, shawls, etc.) Any fiber issues? None at all, thanks for asking. About the Weenies: please list what you've bought or are definitely purchasing for yourself *as well as* what you would like to possibly receive from someone else! I am not currently buying much of anything for myself as the holidays are quickly approaching and we need to buy a car and are trying to save to buy a house. This gives me a sad when I look at the list of amazingness available. Dear Witchee, are you at all boozy? Anywhere between hard cider to straight whisk(e)y? And any interest in the "unusual" stuff? (unusual as in non-mainstream, local craft ciders or meads, regional fruit wines, experiments from local distilleries, etc) Yes! And, since I'm the only one who drinks in my house, I would gladly and generously share with my boozy friends. I am not particularly fond of tequila, rye, or IPA/APA style beers! But, pretty much anything else goes. 10/2/19 Nail Polish: Do you need or want some? If so, what colors and brands are you interested in? This would probably, for the most part, end up on my kids' nails rather than mine - I'm really bad at doing my own nails. Does anyone else do nail wraps? I don't. What about postcards? Love them! Is anyone interested in anything from the Nocturne Alchemy Halloween release (or, presumably, anything else from the site)? Both the new and resurgence lists sound amazing! I don't think I've ever had anything from Nocturne Alchemy before. How do you feel about salt? I don’t mean, like, salted nuts or potato chips. I mean straight-up salt, like alder-smoked finishing salt or Hana Flake sea salt. I read a book called The Gilly Salt Sisters and have been kind of obsessed with the idea of different salts since - and then I watched Salt Fat Acid Heat and got more so. I would love to try some different fancy salts! 10/3/19 I am infamous for baking (shortbreads savory and sweet, poundcake, various cookies and bars), butter caramels (flavored or plain), and catnip. Are any of these relevant to you or your household? I love baked goods, am indifferent to caramel but LOVE toffee, and have no cats so catnip would be gifted to my sister-in-law's furbabies. Do you like to cook and do you need/want any spices for such pursuits? My husband cooks far more than I do, but I do most of the baking. That said! We would love to support Penzeys, and I could use some vanilla beans, some saffron, and ... well, I tend to impulse buy spices, honestly. Would you wear any of these? Fern , Nuada, Manannan, Duleek Abbey or an infinity scarf or tube cowl tall enough for a hood (like this scarf or this cowl for shape example)? I am all about scarf/cowl/hood things. Do you have any utilitarian needs for everyday life? Things that would help or that you've been needing or wanting for work or whatever? An apron with pockets - like a barista-type apron that covers my front and I can put things in. Also, I am fairly obsessed with office products, especially pens. Papermate Flair are a favorite, as are Sharpies of all sorts. What kind of vegan snacks do you like? And vegan chocolate...favorites? I've never really looked at them. 10/4/19 How would you describe your crafting style? Whimsical & Cute? Elegantly modern? Totally Traditional? Depends on who I'm making stuff for - I usually don't make things for myself. 10/6/19 So....we are about to process a metric f*ton of green tomato relish, which is basically bread and butter pickles but with sliced green cherry tomatoes. Is this relevant to any witchees? As I don't really like bread and butter pickles, I don't think I'd like this. How do you celebrate Halloween/Samhain? Do you dress up? Would you like something for your costume? And am I the only person left on the planet who wears socks? I have 3 kids, so mostly I celebrate by making sure they have a good time and understand the traditions behind the holiday (well, the white European-centric ones mostly, as those are the ones with which I'm most familiar). I do have an 80s themed party to go to, though, and would gladly take anything to help with a costume for that! Accessories are probably best, as I'm an odd size and mostly have to try things on if it's anything other than a tshirt. 10/7/19 Are you interested in anything from Art Of Tea or Adagio Teas? Absolutely! I added some Adagio stuff to my universal list over at Amazon, which should give an idea as to the things I'd like elsewhere. I'm fondest of Earl Grey or spiced chai type teas. I make light-weight hairfalls, doll-style, using a variety of fun stuff, like ribbons, lace and soft batting. Would you be interested in receiving a set in the colors of your choosing? Sure! And a quick question here--I'm going to this amazing looking event on Saturday--does my witchee see anything they might be interested in? https://www.facebook.com/events/903999316607440/ (the Oddities Market) Some of the Batty Boutique stuff looks cute, and some of the art looks cool, and maybe the coffee? But mostly no, not really, thanks. Have so much fun! 10/8/19 How do you feel about enamel pins? Love them, hate them, slightly interested, totally indifferent? Slightly interested depending what's on it, but my kids (especially my 17-yo) love them. I'd love some buttons and pins to put on my jean jacket! 10/10/19 what is your T-shirt/shirt of choice Size? Unisex athletic cut XL, Ladies 2-3X depending on how small/stretchy. 10/11/2019 OCTOBER LUNACY! I know turn around time is unlikely, but just saying (JUST SAYING), dear Witchee, did anything catch your eye? Gemini locket and/or socks, Hunter Moon, and any of the others that don't say "dirt" in the description. So Blood Moon Botanica is having an update soon. It's a surprise what will be listed (besides the Moon Dew serum), but you can take a look at past items on her web page: https://archaichoney.com/bloodmoonbotanica (Britton used to run Haus of Gloi.) Witchee, are you interested in any kinds of things from the Blood Moon Botanica update? I'm quite intrigued by the Moon Dew serum. Aside from that, ALL of the Lavender and Amber roll on. also I took some beading classes and have been making bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Would you be interested in any? If so, how big is your wrist or how long would you like your bracelet? Any preferred styles of beads? Ooh, pretty! I LOVE amber. Other than that, it's all by color and my favs are in the questionaire.

9/26/19 Is there anything kind of weird and niche about which you feel this way, fellow witchees? Asterix coin(s), yes please. Also, old stamps - not to collect, but to use. Kickstarter (and similar): Any thoughts, witches? Kickstarter has some crappy politics these days, but I love some of the projects. I just backed a board game about hoarding yarn, for instance - but that was before I knew about the anti-union stance. 9/28/19 Do you have an Etsy/Goodreads/Amazon or anything else wishlist you’d like to share? I'm all updated in the spreadsheet, and there are links in my signature. And what’s your preferred wrist/necklace size? Um ... I think my wrist is 7"? Does anything from Bird & Blend take your fancy? I love fancy teas! I could use a new looseleaf steeper-thing, for which I've currently forgotten the name. Knitting questions have have been asked, but how about wash cloths, anyone need any? What colors?? Yes please! I make them for everyone else but rarely take the time to make any for my own house. White, or whatever color you've got is fine! is there anything from World Market that tickles your fancy? There's a bunch of cute stuff, but nothing I HAVE TO HAVE or anything. 9/29/19 There's a special thing happening over at Rituel de Fille this weekend, where some gorgeous makeup items are coming back for just a couple of days. I'll be placing an order Sunday or Monday- anything that might strike your fancy, either from the special sale or from the site in general? (https://ritueldefille.com) Pretty, pretty colors! I'd have to learn how to use them. How do you feel about tarot or oracle decks? Would you be interested in any (for artwork or for mystical purposes)? New or used? I love, love, love tarot decks. There are a few in my amazon cart, I've backed a few on kickstarter, etc. Oracle, not so much - I mean, I like the art but can't seem to get the hang of using them. Would pigment samples from companies like M.A.C. or Notoriously Morbid tickle your fancy? If so, what colors catch you eye? I'm not really good at makeup and even less so at pigment - I'd have to learn to use them.

    Winter Swap Questions

November 8th Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate? Milk, generally, though the occasional dark chocolate with strawberry or white chocolate is great, too. Though I don't like white chocolate at all unless it's mixed with one of the others, and even then only occasionally. Or if it's Hershey's Hugs or similar. November 7th What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. I'm not usually a huge fan of licorice-y things, and that's what anise is, isn't it? But I'd still love to try something new. (I make things like pfeffernusse if I'm feeling particularly traditional - German and Dutch ancestry ftw.) Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? Oh, yes. Particularly if the vinegars are basalmic based, but I make a lot of salad dressings and glazes and marinades and dipping sauces, etc, so that kind of thing is always awesome to have around. Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? I . . . actually really like calendars of all sorts, though I'm terrible at keeping up with them. I'm trying hard to keep organized on my google calendar and between my two older kids' activities and my husband, it's next to impossible to keep up. But! I love the pictures, etc. So, you know. I waffle and usually don't buy one until January if at all. November 6th Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? Yes! Kiva and Kickstarter are favorites. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the storytelling dice. Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? A lot of these sound interesting, and a lot sound migraine-inducingly foodie/sweet. Fruit is always a good thing. Leather, spice, similar. Undernotes of vanilla or sugar or that sort of thing are alright, but I do too much baking, I guess, to want it artificially. Also, I'd need a tart burner if I were to melt tarts. Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? Recipes, always! Particularly for cookies - anything baked, really, but cookies are my favorite thing to make. I'm dieing for a good sugar cookie recipe; they're always such a pain. I also love savory things, for the record. I used to have a recipe for these really awesome cheddar and cayenne cookies, but I lost it. =\ Also, my blueberry coffee cake recipe disappeared. Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for? I haven't been paying attention - between the upcoming holidays and still catching up from past financial difficulty, spending on myself hasn't been a priority. I don't even know what these candles are, though now I'll have to check. Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Not at all, so long as it isn't clothes. Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? History, particularly medieval/renaissance (Ireland/British Isles in the case of the former, Germany and the Netherlands in the case of the latter or early to mid-20th century. The English language. Doctor Who, Harry Potter. Steampunk/post apocalypse, but the people who try to be all Really Really In Period about it drive me nuts. Please to not be trying to define my experience for me, thank you. Music of most sorts. Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? I really love lemon pound cake and haven't had it in ages. Lemon curd is also awesome, though I'm not a fan of marmalade in general. fingerless mittens or full mitts? Yes? It depends on how cold the winter gets as far as full mitts go, but it's always cold here at my computer from, like, October/November through April/May. Above-the-elbow-length fingerless mittens/arm warmers/sleeves/whatever would be made of win and awesome. November 4th reveal, yes or no? Yes please! Any favorite cuddly characters? Other than my kids? Because they're totally cuddly characters. =D Um . . . not really, I don't think. I'm a big fan of old school Nintendo characters, though - Mario, Donkey Kong, etc - and Sanrio in general, though my favorite, Kuromi, is probably the least cuddly of the bunch. Moxie Nouveau groupon? I've been careful about not letting my perfume obsession spread, but having checked out the website, there's a bunch of stuff that sounds really good in their Yules and LEs. I'm afraid to look further! what's your favourite colour? Blue, green and purple, with golden yellows or rich creams to lighten it up a bit. Your favourite gemstone? Opal and alexandrite. I like things that change depending on how your look at them or what light you catch them in. Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? Dogs, giraffes, hippogriffs. And do you have any intense phobias? Not really, no. Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? Yes! On all counts. My nine-year-old is also Nano-ing. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I do! Well, like them. I've been trying to thin my stash a bit, so I don't necessarily *need* them. But I like boxes/containers in general. November 2nd Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? The movies I associate most with the holidays are Annie and Sound of Music, oddly - I have the former but not the latter. Blurays would be good, as I think we're getting a PS3 for Christmas. Also, the classics - A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, etc. Older versions are almost invariably better than remakes, but I like both. How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? I . . . am largely indifferent here. Though I do have a fondness for Batman. Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. There are a bunch of the hair products I'd like to try - thick, wavy/frizzy, combination (which is to say, from dry to oily in seconds flat), easily broken, etc. would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? Yes! I have a bunch of her stuff in my etsy wishlist. Surprise me! Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? I do have kids, but they're old enough to not worry about as far as safety stuff goes, mostly. If it's questionable, it'll just go somewhere out of the youngest's reach. How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? Yes! I love both. Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? Trader Joe's is alright, but I mostly go for the inexpensive beer and wine. Aldi's, on the other hand! Huge fan. (I connect them in my head because they're owned by brothers. Or were, last I knew.) The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? Oh, yes. See my etsy wishlist. =D If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? Apples, apples, apples! I haven't gone to check for anything else but I love all things apple. So, while there are probably others I would enjoy, those are the highest on my ZOMG WANT list. Will you be away for any part of the round? We're really busy Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving week, then gone Saturday and Sunday, but other than that, no. Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. N/A What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? Light scifi and fantasy, pretty much anything YA, uh . . . I like to read. I'd really like Catherynne Valente's The Folded World, but other than that I can't think of anything I'm really dieing for. If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? Yes to all of the above, though my really love is the true carols. The older the better! Wassail songs, high mass, etc. Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I've never had Turkish delight and am not a chewing gum fan, but I have had rose jellies/jams, teas, wines, cordials, etc and enjoyed them all. Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?) I am intrigued! i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter). I like up to high-medium by most definitions of the word, my kids like mild to low-medium, my husband likes melt-your-face. So, anything like that would see use in my house! If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Oh gods, I don't even know. Williams-Sonoma, maybe, or Best Buy? If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? Nope, I can eat pretty much anything. Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? Lychee! Rose! Marshmallows! Salted caramels are the only caramels I like! (Although, now that I've said that, masala chai caramels sound heavenly.) Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? All these stores I've never looked at before! Oh, wait, I actually have looked at this before. Hi, Alicia! Um. Anyway. Solstice Night necklaces are gorgeous, as are Holly and Snow Queens and Snowberry and the Nutcracker/Snowflake ones. I haven't looked further, but if there are earrings to match any of those! A set would be awesome. October 30 Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? We do mostly musical instruments or related things so it's mostly silver and gold/bronze, but we have lots of colored stuff, too. We try to avoid breakables because of kids. Would you like a special ornament? Sure! Tim Tams. Yay or nay? Yea. Yummy. I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I am one of those disgusted by the idea of deep fried oreos and twinkies and the like, but asside from that, bring on the home made goods! Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? Sure! My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? I like surprises, and I'm pretty sure someone who wanted to do this could extrapolate from my list of favorites. Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I do! Lightly scented is best and soy or beeswax are win. I prefer plain - dyed is fine, painted not so much. My favorites, despite being regular parafin wax, used to be Bullfrog Light Co, but they don't exist anymore. =\ Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores I use old BBW glycerine soaps as drawer fresheners, heh. Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? Yes! All of the above. My current slippers are Uggs slip ons (a Christmas gift last year) that may well last forever, but I love socks. And sock Dreams, despite never having been able to justify buying anything (for myself) from there. Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.c...gap-tastic-cowl I think someone said this was a cowl, and in that case no. talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? Whole bean, generally not flavored though there was some flavored stuff I got from a coffee swap a year or two ago that was awesome. I also adore tea. but am not a huge fan of the green. Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? I'm pretty loyal to my make-up company. Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? I haven't, though I think I'd probably like it. I'm intrigued by the 'Phobia' sets. Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? Me me me! I tend to buy OPI exclusively, but I'm intrigued by Essie, Zoya and London Butter. I like funky colors and glittery ones, especially ones that are colored with small glitter. If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) ALL OF THE TINTAGEL October 29th So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? CVS is closer, but the principle is the same. Nail polish (there's lots of Essie, so maybe I'd finally try it), candy/snacks/beverage, maybe a paperback or magazine, etc. I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it). I answered this in the thread! But, saffron. Good vanilla (beans or extract). Vanilla sugar sounds interesting. Baking spices in general. Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)? I prefer natural fibers as much as possible, though wool does make me terribly itchy if it's 100%. Jewel or earth tones are win. Arm warmers/sleeves/fingerless gloves would be excellent. hey swap partner...could you use a new mug? Always! I like the giant ones, especially if they're souvenir-ish (but still useable, of course!) - from cool places, with cool sayings or art on them, etc. I also like different shapes; my favorites are probably the tall ones that are wider at the top and taper towards the bottom. Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? Not that I can think of off hand, no.
  7. Do you have any preferences about book condition? Ebooks (Nook, Kindle, etc), yea or nay? What device/program? What about book related accesories? Do you use/need reading lights, book marks, highlighters, etc..? Favorite author(s)? Favorite genre of spookiness (ghost, slasher, psych-thriller, etc)? Favorite genre in general, or any you really don't like? Favorite snacks-while-reading? Favorite place to read? Describe your favorite character (or book) as a perfume. Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what kind? Webcomics in the genres that you love: would you like links to them? Anthologies: Yae or nay? How do you feel about getting the first few volumes of a long series? What is your favorite quote and what is it from? If your favorite book character was a mixed drink, what would it be? What are you currently reading?
  8. September 8th From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? Anything apple, really - those are the ones I'm dying for. There are a few others that sounded interesting, but apples win. Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? Me, me! I like all colors, but funkier is better - I saw this really cool mirrored chrome one on tumblr once that I'd love to have. Brand-wise, I know OPI the best but I've also recently discovered London Butter, Zoya and Essie. There are some of the BPTP claw polishes I'd really like to try, too. Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? Oh, goodness. I used to hold entire conversations in quotes and lyrics when I was in high school and not long out of it - so yeah, there've been tons. Right this minute, though, I don't know. Dream candle? Scent, color, type (tealight, votive, pillar, jar, etc.), throw... I like soy ones and use tea lights and votives the most. Pillars and jars tend to irritate me because there's so much wasted wax, and soy is cool. Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? I love them! I'd adore Gryffindor colored scarf and/or arm warmers/fingerless gloves and/or hat - cloche or beret style, I think. I adore blankets of all sizes, and socks are awesome too. Not a big one for shawls and the like, though. Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? Sure, why not? I love various kinds of jerky, sausages can transport well when packed properly What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? Tintagel, oh goodness. Though apparently there's a bottle of it coming my way, yay! Yo, yarnies! Do you Ravelry? If so, who are you over thar? Not a yarnie, alas, though sometimes I wish I were! Social Media? It's all in my signature. Do you have wishlists for non-BPAL e-tailers? And if so, could you provide a link or a list? My Amazon wishlist is universal, but I've never really explored any of the non-BPAL perfumeries. Except a couple on Etsy. Witchee, do you use a PC or a Mac? PC frankenputer-thing. What is your favorite animal? Domesticated, I really like dogs. And frogs and turtles. Wild (or zoo), I like giraffes. What are you going to be for Halloween? I was thinking maybe Amy Pond and having my husband be Rory. If you could have a piece of oil painting jewelry (pendant, pair of earrings, or ring) with absolutely anything painted on it, what would it be? (If you prefer wall art instead, same question as above.) Oh, goodness, I don't know. It'd be colorful, I think. How do you feel about nick-knacks? Eh. I don't really have room for them. What traditions (family, holiday, or otherwise) are important to you? I'm not really big on tradition, honestly. Although I really like advent calendars. Do you like going to the movies? Oh, yes. So very much. What are your favorite restaurants? Local? There's a Thai place in the Village (T.N. Thai) and a Mediterranean place a few miles away (Cedar Gardens). Chain-wise, I like Red Lobster, Mongolian BBQ, Olive Garden, Pizza Hut . . . Do you play any video games? Sims 3 and Sims Medieval. Do you like any anime? Sakura Wars, Eskaflowne, Ranma 1/2, Prince of Tennis, everything Miyazaki, Cowboy Bebop, Helsing, Serial Experiments: Lain, Oh! My Godess, everything Tenchi, Howl's Moving Castle, Robotech (oh goodness, I'd love to have all the Robotech stuff), ThunderCats. There's probably more. Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? I have a Nook that I got a cover for when I got it, but I kind of hate the cover. Also, I make sleeves for such things. How much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? I am more or less indifferent to jewelry. My kids would be more excited than I would, but that always makes me happy! How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? Oh, yes. Recipes are good, especially ones for baked things. Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? I'm set for now, though that's not always the case, nor will it be. I mostly have imps, so dividers to keep them upright and what not are pretty essential. Muppets: yea or nay? Oh, yes. I really want that Threadless t-shirt that came out with the covers album in a bad way. Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? I adore Calvin and Hobbes. Dunesbury and Boondocks are awesome. Peanuts are good, Far Side's alright. I haven't read normal syndicated comics in a long time, though. Favorite Mythological Creature? Saytrs and Dryads, methinks. Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers I have really thick, wavy hair. Hair things that work are difficult to come by! That said, yes. Headbands and barrettes especially. Expanding on the hair question - does anyone like those flower clips for the hair that are big right now? Fascinators? I adore them, but don't really think I can wear them well. September 9th Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? I go in spurts. Sometimes (roughly with the changing of seasons) I burn it a lot, sometimes not so much. I only have holders for sticks, though I suppose a cone would work on a little plate or something. Scent-wise . . . spicy, fruity, evergreeny. Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? I adore all things Potter. My husband says I'm Hufflepuff, and I definitely have leanings there, but first and foremost I'd say it's a tie between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Oh . . . Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Sock Dreams, Target . . . Is there a particular myth/folktale/legend/fairytale/godstory that you're drawn to? Fae in general are a huge draw, but in the scary Norse/Germanic stories more than anything else. Gods-wise, I'm most interested in Celtic and (again) Norse/Germanic. If you RP, tabletop, forum, or otherwise... Do you have any original characters you'd like to see art of? If so, please give information! Even if it's a link to a web page or a profile or picture! Oh, yes! So very much. But I already talked to K.Harker about this. If you could see anything, what would it be? Can be a person, an event, a landmark or monument, an object, etc. And it doesn't have to be on this planet, or in this time period, or in this reality! Oh, goodness. I don't even know where to begin. When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? I'm . . . actually really bad at this. I stew and stew and internalize it all away. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I'm only sort of into comics, and my knowledge of them is super limited. I'd like to have all the Sandman stuff because I love Gaiman and the Fables stuff because I adore the concept. I just recently got Comic Book Tattoo and I love it. Robotech, Mage, Elementals, all the old Comico books. Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? I used to be, but I wouldn't say I am so much now. There was a time that I switched all around between fifteen different instruments and my voice, but now I only really listen to music and don't make it despite having a guitar, two drum pads, a trumpet and a piano in the house. It's a source of serious sadness to me quite often, though I don't do much to change it. Does anyone garden? And if you do, what do you grow? If not, would a starter garden kit be something you'd be interested in? I've been having a lot of luck with my topsy turvy tomato-and-herb planter things! I like useful plants, vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc. Do you decorate for Halloween? Is your decorating taste elegant, kitschy and fun, or scary? Not really, but if I did it'd be a mix of all of the above. Like Morticia Adams! Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? I've always had a strong affinity for runes. Is anyone fond of programs like Adopt a Tree/Highway/Library/Manatee/Acre of Rainforest/etc? I don't know much about them but they sound like a good idea!

    2011 Spring Shotgun Round!

March 25 Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...) Smacks and smooches both sound very interesting, indeed. And Whipped, I'm guessing, would be amazing. Barring that, oils are always good, particularly in decant form! If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? I . . . don't see a list. But! Fruity (apple/pear, citrus, peach/apricot) is good. Leather is good. Cinnamon is good. Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors? Wrist/handwarmers or socks would be best! Any color for socks, things that show tend to be best in colors that go well with brown, black, blue or gray. That's what I wear most often. March 23 Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? Reese's eggs, the mini Cadbury creme eggs that come in what looks like an egg container. What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? Tintagel! March 22 Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Ah, google, how I love thee! But . . . I don't know how to tell what's new. What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines? I haven't had a rose or blush that I like yet (well, since I turned legal), but I love red wine. Especially cabs, shirazes, sirahs, malbecs, etc. I had a ruby port at a local winery that was to die for and I've been known to enjoy a piesporter or riesling with nibble-y bits or after dinner. March 21 What three things are you craving right now? My sister-in-law's bar cheese (I'll have some later at my niece's birthday party, I think), a medium hamburger with avacado, tomato, bacon and bleu cheese and time with my little brother (which I'll get next weekend at my oldest's birthday party). paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. I have a love affair with stationary in general. I don't have all that much need for formal type stuff, though. What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) Nothing really. Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning) Meal planning would be good - I suck at that. But I don't really read self help books, alas! March 19 If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? Babysitting, coffee out, etc, those would be great! My house is a terrible mess, though, and I'm picky about cleaning and where things go, etc. Company while I did it (or help arranging CDs, DVDs and books when the actually cleaning is done, with wine and music) would be better. Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? There's not much that I really collect, but I wouldn't be against having matching things. It's kind of a cool idea. =D March 18 Do you like poetry? I used to more than I do now, but some still catches me! I love Neruda, Cummings and Elliot in specific. What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? Fresh, clean and light, if I use them. Fruity, sometimes. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? Mmm, old school Comico. Robotech, Mage, Elementals, Evangeline, etc! I don't know much from recent comics or other publishing houses. How do you feel about nail polish? What colors do you like? Sparkles? I love nail polish - funkier colors are better. I saw a really shiny, almost mirrored silver one on tumblr that was awesome, but I usually only buy OPI stuff. I'd love to try some of the BPTP claw varnishes. Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? Not at this time, really - after I move! Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these? I've been playing World of Darkness, especially Mage, Werewolf and Changeling for over a decade now - mostly old school, but I love new Changeling, too. I'm starting to get more into graphic novels, and I love Glee (OPI/Sephora has Glee themed nail polishes!!!), was sad when The Cape and FlashForward were canceled, geek out over Chuck and Castle . . . gifts related to these would be great! Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse Aesthetically speaking, I'm in love with cross dyed Duponi silk, and if you get the right quality/thickness of it, it's awesome to wear or lounge on, too (but again with expensive tastes). Other than that - flannel, cotton, that sort of thing. Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? I really kind of love the shirt, though I don't think the Lunacy itself would work on me. All the Holding Back the Night ones sound awesome! I'd love decants. More Last Unicorns, yum. March 17 Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? I don't know any. Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? oooooooo, any size. Usually earth tones, but bright colors here and there are great! I do a lot of SCA camping too, so pavillion-sized (for lounging about on) pillows are win, but probably difficult to ship. purses? bags? What style/colors? I love messenger bags. I also love Coach and Vera Bradley, but they're a bit expensive! =D Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? Anything like this I get tends to go in the dress-up box, which is actually pretty awesome given some of the activities my kids have - DI and Girl Scouts both sometimes call for costumes. My personal favorite colors are blues, greens and purples or earth tones, but anything's nice! Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? I googled this just to find out! Oils starring my favorite notes are always good. I'd love to try natural deoderant, but I need a strong anti-perspirant too - I sweat like crazy. It's seriously gross in the summer. Home fragrance, anything clean and light would do (and that applies to anything, not just this particular brand/company) - I like fresh mown grass and laundry on the line. That kind of stuff. As far as my hair goes, I'll try anything once; it's temperamental and picky, though, so sample sizes are best. March 16 For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? I don't usually wear anything other than in the winter, when my lips get unbearably dry. But I favor MAC-type lip glosses, more on the sheer end. Shimmer is cool! Are there any fancy/gourmet/special herbs or spices that you'd love to receive? ie: good quality vanilla or other extracts, vanilla beans, saffron, lavender, etc. Mmm, vanilla beans, saffron and lavender all sound fantastic. What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? As pets, I like dogs, frogs and turtles. To see at the zoo, peguins and polar bears, giraffes, and the butterfly house is one of my favorite places to be. In art, rabbits, bees, ravens. If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want? Beltane, Elf and/or Half-Elf, I think. DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? DVDs, but we'll eventually get a PS3, and thus have a Blu-Ray player. Sock Dreams? What kind? (anklets, footies, etc.?) I usually wear anklets, but there are quite a few knee socks and OTKs that I adore at Sock Dreams. Especially the 'bookworm' ones. Since this is a price capped round, would you rather get one "big" thing or lots of "little" things or don't care? Whatever my witch wants to send! I'm easy going. Do you like pirate-related things? Oh, yes! Soaps? Be specific: if there are BPAL soaps you want to try or are dying for more of, tell all here! Also, any other companies people like or love? Villainess, maybe? Or Lush? What flavors??? I don't generally use bar soaps, but my current favorite body wash is the Caress stuff with ribbons in it, especially the pink and purple ones. What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? Deco/Nouveax are general favorites, also Celtic knotwork (particularly the Morrigan ravens). Would you like caffeinated lollipops?: http://www.lollyphil...cks-caffeinated I'd be largely indifferent and have to hide them from my children. Copied CD's or DVD's? Sure! March 15 Booze? Yay or Nay? what kinds? Anything but tequila or ouzo. Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? I'm very fond of Victoriana and Edwardian things, and like quite a few steampunk pieces. However, I am of the opinion that covering something with gears and goggles doesn't make it steampunk. So . . . probably, yes! Especially if it's not the same steampunk stuff we see all the time. Do you like amurigami dolls? Some of them! I'd love a Harry Potter or Abney Park set. Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? Pirates, though I also like ninjas. I'm more or less indifferent to zombies. Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. I'm the ponytail queen. Scrunchies and elastics (the kind that aren't supposed to break/rip out your hair) are gold in my world, and always disappearing. Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? Two in each lobe, no nickel please! You know, if you feel like getting/making earrings). The holes are a bit close, so I tend to wear a dangly one in the lower and a stud in the upper. Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) Chocolate, yes, preferably milk! I'd love to try chocolate with one of those thick, syrupy basalmics, and I know chilis are good in it (though that's more a dark chocolate thing, I think). I like nuts, mint and toffee, but not so much caramel or fruit. March 14 surprise! the world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? Go to the chiropractor and get adjusted and a massage, see a movie and/or show and/or concert (depending on what's showing/playing), maybe go shopping. Do you have any blogs you regularly read? Hyperbole and a Half, Cataloge Living. Mostly, it's webcomics. Girl Genius, Arpeggio, Som*Pos, QC, Treading Ground, GWS, Shortpacked!, Galaxion. Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? I have two, but both are way full - I'm not so picky about what it looks like, though having compartments that make imps stand up and keep bottles from knocking together would be awesome. Do you enjoy gardening? If so, what kind of stuff do you grow? Vegetables, flowers? I really, really want an aero garden; I have a black thumb despite my enjoyment of gardening, and it seems like that would be foolproof. As for what I'd grow, I think mostly herbs, vegetables and fruits. Social Networking sites: Facebook, twitter, LJ and Dreamwidth are all linked to in my sig. favourite artists or specific paintings? Brian Froud's fairies, Edward Gorey, a lot of different tarot arts, um . . . photography in general, especially things that convey lots of emotion. March 13 how about mix CDs? Yes please. =D Hey, how do folks feel about little e-goodies, like links to stuff your witchee likes? (articles online, pix, fic, etc) I always look for internet things to entertain. So yay! Tim Tams? Yes or no? Chocolate Creme, Caramel, or Dark Chocolate? Yes! Cocolate Creme, please. Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? I lost all my Austen in one of many moves. Wilde would be awesome. Alcott - a matching set of the Little Women books would make my life. There are probably lots that I'm not thinking of off the top of my head, but I'm always open to books! candles and/or aroma melts: yay or nay? Candles are awesome, but I have no tart burner. Get your music player, what are the first 13 songs on Random? I did this in thread, but here goes again! Astrological charts and interpretation/reports? Sure! So how does everyone feel about receiving ebooks? I'm . . . less averse to it than I used to be, particularly if they're guilty pleasure romance-type things. March 11 Would you rather have HUGE list of things your witchee wants to try or just a highlight list? Huge! March 10 Baked Goods? Yea Nay? If you feel so moved, sure! Especially if they come with recipes. If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? Recipes are always awesome! Especially baking ones. If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW (Not that any of you will make any bpal orders until SW is over, because you do NOT want to mess up any plans your witch might have!) What would you order (from lab, forum, DD, TradingPost, etc) Assuming money's no object? Bottle of Tintagel. Lemon-Scented Sticky Bat. Sugar Moon. The Magician. Tarot shirts. A bunch of the claw polishes (but not embalming fluid or anything especially pink). Complete set of Last Unicorns (though that's because of concept - mostly, I want the bottles. I tend to like trying imps first). What level of nudity are you fine with on items? Ex: none, tasteful, erotica Mmm, tasteful erotica. I know the ?airre asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale? I'm totally down. Not so much clothes, but random other things, sure! Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounce sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I do, but they're hard to find with no or at least low MSG, unless one is prone to making one's own seasoning mixes. In which case, yes! I like finding out about combinations I wouldn't necessarily have thought of on my own. Do you like any particular kinds of green or black teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I'm particularly fond of a lot of teavana things, and I buy coffee by the pound (unground), usually from Caribou. Feel free to introduce me to new things! Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Sesame sticks (the little ones that come in snack mixes?) and gummy worms. Chips and salsa. Summer sausage, cheese and crusty french bread. Peanuts or almonds. Those rye garlic chip things. Really, it depends on my mood and what I have at hand, though I have a few definite favorites that win over almost everything else. Bulk section is fantastic!

    2010 'Weenie Questions!

Wishlists Amazon Universal Wishlist BPAL - in signature, though that's a huge mess. Over at ScentBase, less messy! Etsy 09/02 Baked Goods? Oh, yes. I love soft, buttery shortbread. And some biscotti. And cookies. And bread. And . . . I also bake myself, so recipes (personal favorites or regional specialties) are awesome. Family Prezzies? Not necessary, though everyone appreciates being thought of. Bottles/lots of little samples? Either one, really, though I prefer imps/decants of things I haven't tried. Social Networking Livejournal, Facebook and Twitter, all linked in my signature. Groupons or similar deals/gift certificates? Groupon tends to be further flung in my area than I can usually use, though I haven't checked restaurant.com since last year Weenie Switch Witch. 09/03 T-Shirt/PJ size L-XL crew if it's boy-type, XL-2X if it's girl-type. Babydolls are always 2X, and I generally wear an XL American apparel. T-shirts are made of win and awesome, the wittier the better! PJ bottoms, I also buy in XL. Mix CDs I love them! I think that they're a great way to be exposed to new music. (totally stealing Ralenth's answer.) Hallowe'en plans? Taking the kids to various local trick-or-treat things, then mulled cider and scary movies (or maybe internetting and video games) at home with the porch lights off. Our neighborhood gets infested with inner city kids for Halloween, and I hate handing out stuff to teenagers and parents who don't even make a stab at a costume. 09/04 Girly Index: Middling. I do hair and makeup if I'm going out or otherwise feel like it, and I love having my fingernails painted but rarely have the patience to do so. Soft/plushy things I have a Hudson's Santabear from 1980-something that I've slept with since I got it when I was in lower single digits. I also love plushy microbes (I lust after a bookworm) and Raggedy Ann and Andy. Jane Austen? Yes, books and movies. Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? Yes, but I'm better at (and prefer) runes, particularly sticks. I have a couple tarot decks (a fairy one with its own book, and a new renaissance one that I got from my witch a few rounds ago), but I find them more difficult to read. One day, I'll sit down and practice, but that day hasn't happened yet. eBooks Sure, preferably PDF format as I'd be reading them on my computer. Though I do vastly prefer paper books, I'm starting to not hate the computer version. Guilty TV pleasure Pretty much anything I watch. VH1/MTV video shows (in the morning, they really play videos!) are probably the guiltiest, but I kind of hate TV in general. So, if I'm interested enough to watch something, it's a guilty pleasure. That said? The Tudors. I eat that historical romance soap opera shit right up. Cosplay/costume I do a lot of Ren faire-ing and SCA stuff, so bits and pieces for that are awesome. For SCA, I'm fairly early period (12th century) Irish, so jewelery tends to be pretty chunky and Viking-ish. For cons and things . . . I'd really love a Firefly-ish costume, probably Zoe or Kaylee. Or a steampunk-y newsie. So, bits and pieces towards any of those would be win. Harry Potter house Gryffindor with Ravenclaw leanings. Think Hermione, and you've about got it. Alan Rickman, David Tennant, the Winchester Boys? Yes, yes, no. Scented Tarts: I've never tried them. Lip Balms? Yes, but I am fairly picky. I can't do Burt's Bees, for instance - they tend to leave my lips more chapped. Body Mods: Earrings only, two holes in each ear. One day, though, I will have a tattoo or two. Booze? Yes. I love red wines, dark beers, vodka and rum, though I am always open to new things. I also adore most meads and some cordials. What is your favorite artist or art style? Photography! Other than that, I'm more about colors than a specific artist or style. Except for Edward Gorey, who is amazing. 09/05 Favorite Snack? Those sesame stick things that they put in snack mixes. Gummy worms (the plain old fashioned ones). Baked (salted) pumpkin seeds. What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? Knit/crochet, sew (well, improve my skills there) For those who decorate for Halloween, do you prefer cute decorations or creepy ones? Creepy, all the way. Being scared is at least half the fun! Also, as part of the cute-or-creepy question, would you want hand made, molded, glazed (by yours truly!) ceramic decorations (napkin rings, potporri/tart warmers, etc) to add to your stock? Normally, I would say yes but I live with too many people in a small house. Everything gets broken or otherwise destroyed. So, thank you very much for the thought, but unless they're tealight/votive holders, no thanks. how do you feel about mortars and pestles Adore them. They're the one thing I collect. Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package? Nope, can't say there is. 9/6/10 When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? Not! The wishlists are, for the most part, an indicator of taste more than a ZOMG EXACT THING I want. Do you wear make up? Rarely, but I have a favorite brand already. Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? Oh, yes! Most of the cartoons. Anything Haley Mills. Probably my all-time favorites are Moonspinners and The Jungle Book. Do you have A VCR, DVD Player or Blue Ray or a combo of the three? We have a computer with a DVDRom/burner that we use for a DVD player. One day, it's likely to get upgraded to blueray (or we'll get a PS3), but until then, DVD all the way. (And, for the burned DVD question I think I missed, sure! I'm really fond of those anime music video things if they're done well. Harry Potter fanvids. Firefly/Serenity. Etc.) Would you like custom icons as a gift? Yes! I love them. Witty quotes from poetry or other literature, Harry Potter (books or movies), Firefly/Serenity, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Haven (I love the smuggler boat dude, not the cop with no personality), Glee, Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz . . . I like lots of things. My favorite colors are green, blue and purple, but that's on my questionnaire. 9/7/10 Socks? Sock Dreams? Anyone? Ooh, yes. I adore them. And, if anyone happens to have the Harry Potter yarns, I love all of them and would love socks/fingerless mitten-glove things/scarves out of any or all. What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain? Oatmeal with raisins and cinnamon, a pat of butter, a tablespoon of brown sugar and milk. Kid-hugs. Coffee/tea. Reading. Favorite Halloween/Scary movies/books The Halloween Tree and Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury Village of the Damned, both new and old Carnival of Souls, the old 60s thing Poltergeist What would the name of your custom blend be? The description? I think this is in my questionnaire, but mulled cider, leather and tobacco/nicotania for fall. Ice and ozone for winter. Lilac and green, growing things for spring. Rose, water and fresh cut grass for summer. COMIC BOOKS. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? Some, rarely. I'm an old school Comico girl (Robotech, Mage, Elementals, Evangeline, etc), and I have the first Freakangels book but would love the rest. I love Jhonen Vasquez and have lost my books by him in one of my various moves. There are some webcomics I follow that have books (Red String, GWS) and I'd love to have the Sandman ones - I don't have any. Warm drinks? Tea, coffee, mulled cider or wine, heated milk with honey or vanilla and cinnamon, hot cocoa, Russian tea, jello water (hot, non-solidified jello. Great for sore throats). 9/8/10 Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you? Symbols, not so much totems, really, though bees always end up being important despite my allergy. Keys/locks and compasses, otherwise. Do you need a box for your bpal bottles? Your imps? Your something else to put in a box stuff? Oh, yes. I adore boxes in general, and my BPAL ones are overflowing. If you could be any person, being, or animal from Fantasy what or who would you be? Uh . . . Falcor the luck dragon. If you could go back to any point in time, where, when, why? Too many to name! But, mostly just to experience it, to see what it was really like. I'm a huge history geek; it was part of the double major that I never finished. Favorite Halloween Candy/Treat? Roasted pumpkin seeds. Pixy Stix. Lik-m-ade. What are your favorite baked goods/homemade treats? Soft, buttery shortbread, yum. Molasses cookies. Ethiopian honey bread (there's a recipe online and I make it myself, but so. very. good.) Would you be interested in an astrology birth chart? Yes! I did one on Astro.com, but I don't know what time I was born, so I'd have to ask my parents to get the rising right and everything. 9/9/10 What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child? Watership Down, Poltergeist, Nightmare on Elm Street IV, Jaws Name a couple of sites you frequent other than this one postcrossing, chicagodusk (old World of Darkness gaming), twitter, etsy, facebook, dreamwidth, LJ, flickr . . . Do you like the Muppets? Which is your favorite? Yes, very much, but I like the Fraggles better. So, of the muppets, Scooter, Beaker and the Swedish Chef. Of the Fraggles, Red and Bobo If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be? Mmmm, a really big dog. Or a luck dragon. Or both. Comfort Rereads? The Neverending Story, Princess Bride, The Refugee Summer, Harry Potter (any) Will you be going out of town during the round, or is there any other time during the round when it would not be ideal for you to receive a package from your witch? Not that I know of! If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) Not in school, though it feels like I am with all the time spent at my kids'. I'm trying to master all the settings on my digital SLR, and would love to learn photoshop, but haven't the patience to do it on my own. What animal would your daemon be? Alternately, your patronus. I think a bee, oddly. What's YOUR favorite word? Veracity. Serendipity. Steampunk, yay or nay? If yay, what part appeals most? Yea. I like the aesthetic as a whole, and I love thinking up alternate history stuff and making characters in my head. I also rock a wicked corset. 9/10/10 Would you like a bag of dried Honeycrisp apples? Yes, very much so. If you were to receive a knitted item (such as a scarf, hat, etc), what colors would you like? And do you have any sensitivies/allergies to any materials? No sensitivities/allergies, but I prefer natural fibers. Blue, green and golden yellow are generally my favorite colors and pink my least favorite, but I'm pretty open! Gift Certificate: physical or email? If it's for a physical store, physical, but if I'm going to be using it online, email's fine. Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents? No idea! But the husband doesn't much like scented candles. would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal? I am more or less indifferent to most native(ish) to my country religious practices. But as the ones of these I've seen are amazingly pretty and/or cute, I'd be down. I like dogs, and bees seem to be a theme. And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes? http://www.etsy.com/...=cat1_gallery_8 Indifferent to these, too! What places to do you visit that you'd like a gift card to? Starbucks, Target, Wal-Mart, B&N, a favorite restaurant or clothing shop? Borders/B&N, Caribou coffee, Target, Old Navy, Hot Topic (though I really only go there for belts, or things related to movies/books. Harry Potter stuff, Hunger Games stuff, Invader Zim stuff, etc.) Cake or Frosting? Both - it's the whole textural mishmash. But, if forced to choose at gunpoint, frosting. Unless it's crap. 9/11/10 Cake truffles? If YES! Cake/icing/chocolate type? Sure! Pretty much any, but not dark chocolate, and not red velvet. are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products? Sure! Vampire shows, literature, etc? Yay or nay? Meh. I like the classics, yeah, and I loved The Vampire Diaries when I was a kid. But mostly, I can't be arsed to care. Give me scary, gritty, modern fae fighting for existence in a world that doesn't have enough wonder to sustain them. That's sexy, and also sad and terrifying. If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? We have a PS2, and would love anything Silent Hill. Also my in-laws have a Wii, and we'd love anything Rock Band or Mario. How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? I know a lot about flowers and plants academically speaking, but am terrible at keeping them alive. So seeds and such, probably not so much (though I really want to try one of those Aero things some day). Drawings and pressed/dried, sure! How do you feel about marzipan? .....ew. But it's fun to sculpt with, and subtleties (food made to look like something else) are a time-honored tradition, and often made of marzipan. If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? Uh . . . I don't know. I try not to pay attention when I know I can't buy, and I have bottles of most of my can't live withouts. Though, I keep not buying Tintagel because 'it's GC, it'll be there forever!', and I should know better. I'd also really like to try Yuki Onna. Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? Real Australian Tim Tams. Also, the German gummy bears that I used to love when I was a kid - the ones made with real juice and stuff that are still the same texture/consistency as regular gummy bears (and if they have gummy worms like that, even better). Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? The Pomegranates and Lambs Wool. (I haven't ordered any of it, but most of the 'Weenies end up being too foodie for me.) If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) Sure! I do collage/mixed media and am taking up scrapbooking. Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? I did this in thread, but it's fun so I'll do it again! Only five here, though. 1) Jesca Hoop: The Kingdom 2) Rush: Tom Sawyer 3) BoA: Duvet 4) Schuyler Fisk: The Good Stuff 5) Katherine McPhee: Love Story Soundtracks you'd like? Oh, goodness. Honestly, I torrent most of them. Obscure Broadway stuff, maybe? If you could see one concert right now, who would it be? Over the Rhine again - Autumn makes me think of them for some reason. Also, SJ Tucker again, preferably at Faerie Worlds. That's two, I know. 9/12/10 Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to last.fm immediately and create an account! Download the scrobbler! Link us to your account! If you reject this assignment, maybe just tell us what your mp3 player says you listen to a lot? So many music-related questions! It makes me happy. My last.fm profile is here, though I don't use it often. Any countries you're interested in? Mostly the British Isles and Germany, though I randomly study any number of things/places. Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Sure! If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? Of course. It's the thought that counts. Are you a foodie? In scents, not at all. In philosophy, oh gods, yes. Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? Pretty much the Detroit teams, if we're talking pro, and Michigan teams if we're talking college. We're big hockey fans, moderate football fans, and pretty indifferent to everything else that isn't olympics. For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? We would decorate, if in a better neighborhood/house. Mostly, elegant - for Halloween, elegant and spooky-scary. Our Christmas tree is music themed - all the ornaments are instruments (or things playing instruments - we have a reindeer jazz band, for instance)/bells. So, if you find something awesome at some year-round Christmas store or whatever, sure (especially if it's of the unbreakable sort) - they're hard to find even in Frankenmuth. 9/13/10 what interests you from the latest lab update? I don't know anything about Dawn-the-comic-book (feel free to educate me if you're into that kind of thing!) but the related scents sound fantastic. Harvest moon sounds delicious, but it's got the dreaded word "dry" in it, so I don't know how it'd work out - decant or testable sniffie would be awesome. Mabon and Wildfire sound like they'd make me swoon. Is that all? I'm afraid to look too much deeper, as I totally can't afford to go on a perfume buying binge right now. How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? I love it/them. Fountain pens are a personal favorite, as are the Sharpie pens, particularly the retractable kind, and I like all sorts of stationary. I have some Emily the Strange stuff right now, and some with cutesy cartoon versions of internal organs. Would you like homemade preserves (e.g. marinated veggies, pickled onions, chilli jam?) Oh yes, so very much. Especially with recipes! If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? Yes! Would you like something you have to make yourself? Mmm . . . well, it depends. Recipes are a definite yes. Puzzles are cool. I don't do a lot of models or that kind of stuff, though; that's more my husband's thing. Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? Feel free to make it! Hand/homemade things are awesome. Who is your favorite soap etailer? I have to admit, I don't usually use bar soap. But just to look at, I adore Paintbox. What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? Not so much, at least not until I have a house of my own that actually fits my family. With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I have absolutely no preference. Is up to my witch! What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I generally use Artistry stuff, but that said, I really kind of wanted to get MAC's Wonder Woman stuff, and the Venomous (I think?) stuff gives me glee. Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with ) Tori Amos Karen Gillan Christopher Ecclestone Jeremy Irons Bruce Springsteen I have only just noticed that three of my top five are British and one plays at being so. I can't decide if this is amusing or strange or what. They are also in no particular order. Do you crave many Ecards and contact or are you okay with little contact from your Witch? I think I'm pretty open to varying levels of contact, but I think we'll say I prefer medium and up. I don't want to be all crazy high maintenance, though, because I know my life is crazy and other people's are too! Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? Sort of - I started too on ScentBase, but I'm sporadic about updating my stash and haven't finished adding all the stuff I had before I joined a couple decant circles of doom. Do you like maple sugar candy? I adore it. What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? Uh . . . I'll try almost anything once? If you are a tea-drinker do you need a tea-cozie for your pot? "Need" is a terribly strong word. Also, I'm a heathen - I just pour the water straight out of the kettle. Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? Coriander, oregano and cayenne pepper according to my husband, who does most of the cooking. Microsoft or Apple? Eh. Microsoft, but only cos I'm used to it. I used to say Apple. But I really kind of hate both. Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Long weekend in Charlevoix, and it wasn't a particularly relaxing vacation - it was with my in-laws. So, probably watching my kids go horseback riding. Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? Sure, on both counts! I love snail mail. Do you hate any food things with a passion? Uh, no, not that I can think of. Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I'd be okay with that. 9/14/10 Chocolate or other types of candy? Yes please. Though I eat it all sparingly because I have need of dental work and it hurts my caveties. =\ For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? Loose leaf, but I don't turn my nose up at bags. If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? I love scarfs - lightweight ones in different colors would be awesome. Also socks. And I really want a pair of those convertible fingerless glove/mittens. I don't really do the shawl thing, though, alas! Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot like, or would like to be like? I've been compared to Red the Fraggle most of my life. Other than that . . . I don't know. There are ones I identify with, but I wouldn't say I'm *like* them, and there are aspects of some that I would like to share, but no one I'd really want to be like. Except maybe Hermione Granger. Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, ect? I could use a mandolin, or one of those popcorn popper things that . . . uh . . . lemme find a link. Like this - and it roasts nuts, too! I may have to just buy one of those myself. Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? If it's explicit, I want it explicit. As for live or studio, if it's a can't-live-without artist, I want it all. Otherwise, I generally prefer studio. If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? Pet-wise, I love dogs, frogs and turtles. Otherwise, I love giraffes. Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? Lilacs, trilliums, lupines Do you have a favorite quotation? Song lyric? Book passage? WhateverthehecktheycalltheanonymousregionalwisdomthingiePROVERB! that word. Oh, so many. And I read voraciously, so there are always more - introduce me to your favorites! What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) Honestly, I try not to pay attention to BPAL when I can't afford it, so I don't even know. Though, I have a decant of something called Intergalactic that is so very, very good that I'd love to find more of it but it's one of those ones that's impossible to find. Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have some children/spawn (1 or more), and, hypothetically speaking, your witch would like to spoil them a little but knows nothing of kids these days. What do they like or dislike? Also is there anything a (sane) adult might think they would like that you don't think is appropriate for whatever reason? (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) My children are 8, 5 and 1. The elder two love books, temporary tattoos are awesome, pool toys (both are huge swimmers). The middle wants to be a cheerleader and claims to be a girly-girl, but is the first one to throw down in the dirt and whatever, while the oldest says she's a tomboy but really wants to be left alone in a corner to read and listen to music like she's fifteen. The baby is too young to really tell yet! Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that Nothing in specific, but if you want to recommend things or intro me to things, feel free! I like Harry/Draco slash . . . Other than that, I don't even know. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) This changes by the day. But there's this thing called boconccini that's basically the Italian version of roladen that my husband makes, and his creamy tomato soup and parmesan-herb stuffed mushrooms. NaNoWriMo? Oh, yes. I go crazy every November and have for . . . five or six years, now. 9/15/10 How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Sure! I'm a Brownie troop leader, and that kind of stuff is great for the kids. Also, I love fridge magnets. Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? Anansi Boys, the first Song of Fire and Ice book, a new Dark Is Rising set (I'm missing one [one!] from my old set) Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? I don't read mangas but I'm not against doing so - feel free to educate me! And I have a few anime that I really love (Serial Experiments: Lain, Prince of Tennis, Ranma 1/2, anything Tenchi, Sakura Wars, Eskaflowne [series more than movie], Robotech, a bunch of the movies), but don't really know a lot outside of them. Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Of course! If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? I think I may have already answered this somewhere up there, but sure! Things made specifically with me in mind are awesome. OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? When I buy every day socks, I usually get anklets (I think that's what they're called) - not the ones that disappear into my shoes, but not the ones that come up to mid-calf, either. When I buy seasonal socks, they're usually toe socks, and usually come up to mid-calf. Which is to say! Whatever the spirit moves you to make. How do people feel about word magnets I love them. And ones in German or Spanish would be quadruple-y awesome. If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? This is another one I feel like I answered. Anyway, I can't find a good picture of it, but the black and white dress that Christina Ricci is wearing at the end of Sleepy Hollow. Except maybe brown and cream, or blue and white instead of black and white. So pretty. How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. I'm always intrigued. What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? Oh, oh. I'm avoiding looking because I has the broke. But, when I did peek, it seemed like mostly the Naughties that stuck out as zomg want to me. 9/16/10 If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? Skinny to medium width, please, and long! Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? I am indifferent about shawls. How do you feel about recipes? I adore them, but seldom use them verbatim. What kind of a cook/baker are you? Experimental. Joyful. Perfectionist. Impatient. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? If it's baking, the latter, if it's cooking, I'm happiest with my husband (or someone else) cooking for me, but carry-out or microwave stuff will do in a pinch. Various recipe questions Yes, please. Give to me your ingredient lists and instructions. How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? I'm down with those, yeah. if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? Earl Grey is all time favorite. Other than that, I tend to grab whatever looks/sounds interesting at the time. 9/17/10 Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it? A) the complete Gilmore Girls, Tori Amos' Piano and Bootleg collections, BSG both new and old, Eureka, Stargate Atlantis Not at all! Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? I don't know much from other perfume etailers. Dear witch, if this question is for me, please prod me somehow so I go check it out. Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) While the idea is really awesome in theory, and I've done some interesting things and seen other people do so as well, I don't really have the space for such things. So, no thanks. Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? .....I know nothing of these things, though they sound awesome. Anne Taintor, anyone? Yes, please. Which web comics do you enjoy? Questionable Content, Som*Pos, the whole Walkyverse (Shortpacked, Roomies, It's Walky, etc), Arpeggio, Freakangels, Red String, Penny and Aggie, Treading Ground, Girls With Slingshots, Girl Genius, Galaxion 9/18/10 Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I do. Hair sticks (though I need them in sets of two), those barrette things that are really a pretty arc with one stick (I like leather and wood the best), etc. I can always use ponytail holders/scrunchies. Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Actually safe, yes. Otherwise, censoring is minimal, though graphic depictions of sex are out. Tasteful nudes are not. In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? Sure! How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? I think turning something old into something new is awesome. Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? I don't know this etailer, though I've heard of them. What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) Temperate, and forest-y or near. What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? I'd really love to learn how to throw pottery. Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? See my answers about VM and Possets. Though, I really love the decant of Naughty Amongst Novels that I got ages ago, and would love to have more of it or a resurrection of it or what have you. Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? Sibyl sounds amazing - it's the one that stands out. The rest sound intriguing, though I think Mount Misery and Sweet Holy Roads would go to all dirt on me, because things with that note usually do. Anyone need address/phone type books? Can't say I do - I keep all that information on my computer or in my phone. 9/19/10 Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I do! Anything to do with Faerie is a pretty safe bet. I love Maggie Furey's Aurian books and . . . well, lots. I've been dying to try some China Mieville. Things relating are cool! Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? Eh. I'd like to try some of Tarty's stuff because she's one of ours (and I talked her into her first Switch With round last year!), but other than that, I have fairly sensitive skin, and two of my kids have skin that's even more so. Soap is hard. I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I am not an artist, but I love cool pens for writing with. For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I'm not a yarnie, though I have this grand goals of learning to spin, knit and crochet, and thus create something from (near) start to finish all by my own hand. Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? I do a lot of collage, so sure! Nothing in specific - I use what moves me for a given piece. Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I do some, but I let my husband pick it out, because he's choosey. Sticks, usually. Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? Boxtops for Education thingies! 9/20/10 If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? See my answers to the other etailers. How many bottles of BPAL do you have? 20-ish? A metric shit ton of imps/decants, though. Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? Yoga, belly dancing and Zumba, yeah. I went to a yoga studio in walking distance from my house for awhile, but it was one of those ones where they crank up the heat to 150 (or whatever) and I couldn't deal. If not for that, I would have loved it. Belly dancing, I've mostly done at SCA stuff, and Zumba just looks and sounds fun. Water bottles are always useful, as are candles and music. And . . . yeah, I could use a new yoga mat, for that matter. Anyone else into Emily Autumn? I like her, but I have all of her stuff (I think). What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. Heh, I'm not that organized. But! I have a really gorgeous tarot print from my last witch that I'm saving for the day I have a house I *want* to decorate that way. do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind? This was my question. I have way too many, so though I love them, no GS cookies for me. What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? Love. Yes please. 9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? Garlic cheese, yes. Garlic dills, totally. Garlic sweet stuff, not so much. Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? I love Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead, but that's about it. So, largely indifferent. 9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? I have no such thing, sorry. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? I feel like I should look these things up, now that I've been asked about so many different etailers. From the Halloween update, almost all of them sound good so it's probably easier to say what sounds like it *won't* work. Happy Halloween, Hearing Voices, Jill O'Lantern, Pink Pumpkin. The horse LEs also sound good, and I'm terrified to look at GC, lest I find another obsession. What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I walk funny, so I wear out my shoes pretty quickly - I'm always in need of new sneakers/every day shoes. There's this brand called Jambu that I'd like to try, but other than that, I love Vans, Simples and Adidas, and I wear 9 in womens. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? Coloring books, yes. And if anyone happens to have access to the old Girl Scout paper dolls, I'd love to have them to show my troop. Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? Sure! What song is on heavy rotation for you right now? Not any one in specific - I'm busy retagging all my music so it shows up in itunes properly, so I haven't been listening much. Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? They sound good, but I don't really use them. I still have almost full decants of the Seasons Inquisition room sprays. If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? You know, I don't know! I'm open to just about anything. Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? I am not a yarnie, but have grand visions of becoming so. So, yes. If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. My favorite thing EVAR so far was a copy of the British edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. 9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I don't, but I do make jewelery. So, anything in bead form is awesome, and I'll mix and match them as seems appropriate for a given person or piece. What's your favorite Halloween Music? I like the creepy sound effects CDs, and also creepy classical pieces. The X-Files theme. Goofy stuff like Purple People Eater and Monster Mash. Pretty much everything, really. 9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? Whatever she'd like, with heavy leaning towards punked out Hello Kitty. Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Sure! If mug, I love the ones that are as big as your head. Not so much shot glasses, though. Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? Sure? Venomous Villains? ZOMGYSPLZ Last Unicorn? See above. Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) Villain/Villianess: Scar, Cruella DeVille, Malifecent Hero/Heroine: They're mostly whiny brats. What's her name from Enchanted, maybe. 9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? I grew up in Kalamazoo, MI, which is a college town and not good for much else. So, ivy-covered brick (K College, parts of Western), paper (old James River plant), apothecary/pharmeceutical type stuff (Pfizer, Pharmacia, Upjohn, whatever it is now), mint and celery. Here, I'd say trees, brick and perfectly kept lawns, with splashes of booze, hidden nicotine/tobacco and lots and lots of secrets. My current town is a CT waiting to happen. Or maybe something Cthulu-ish. Yay creepy old money suburbia. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? While they could be handy, I'm terrified of transferring stuff. So no, not so much. 9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your go-to for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivalent of a security blankie? Tintagel or Magdalene/Alice, depending on the season. I have LE favs to, depending on the reason it's bad/stressful, but I have bottles of those already. What are you going to be for Halloween? Red Fraggle! Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? Uh . . . I don't think so? Other than maybe a donation to Powerchords on Kickstarter in my name. That would be made of awesome and win, but it'd have to be in by midnight tonight (30 September). 9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Sure? how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? Lunchbags are always handy, but more of the kid variety than grown up. Purses are awesome! Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? Aquatic, musky, clean, fruity - favored tones. Ice, snow and ozone tend to work well, along with amber, leather, apple, citrus, cinnamon but not heavy, vetiver, grass. 'Dry' anything is a death note. Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? I am fairly indifferent, though I think they're pretty! 10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? Flavoring and scent, yum! Haunt Update? I heard there was one . . . 10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? I am not a knitter/crochet-er yet, so whatever's best for beginners, or crafting other than knitting/crocheting. (I also like to make yarn dreadfalls. So handspun art yarn is awesome.) Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? I like them, but have nowhere to store them when it's not the appropriate season. Do any witchees need a Snuggie? .....only if it's a very ironic Snuggie. 10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? I'd rather have website links rather than waste the paper of a magazine in a language I can't read. That said, just about anything in German would be win. Would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? Sure? Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? If I could only choose one (which is more than I can usually choose!) I'd probably go with White Lady. But really, all of them sound worth a try - which is why I tend to go decants of LEs. I will say that Mount Misery sounds like one of those ones that tends not to be good on me. If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be? I like number 2. If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? I wouldn't be averse. 10/7/10 Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting? I add things as they catch my fancy, so yes and no? They're more suggestions of the type of thing I might like than anything else, though. 10/9/10 I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both? Yes please! 10/12/10 Would you want your witch to reveal herself? How? Yes, I would like to know who to thank. S/he could do so however pleases him/her, though. 10/13/10 Today I got one of the Starbucks Halloween Bearista Bears - it's dressed like a werewolf! Is this something witchees might like? Hahaha, that sounds adorable! Though I'm not a Starbucks girl, I may become one for one of those. Are you interested in Halloween costumes for your pet(s)? .....no. If I had a pet, it would be a very large dog. They tend to not take kindly to that sort of thing. 10/14/10 Do you prefer scented or unscented lotions/moisturizers? Generally unscented for two reasons - 1) so as not to interfere with the perfume of the day and 2) because my kids use it if they can get away with it at all and a lot of perfumes (and dyes, for that matter) make them break out. 10/18/10 So....let's say that you're my witchee, and you have an affinity for widgets. Let's also pretend that I sent you one of these widgets, but in a form that has a very special personal significance to me. Would you find that to be touching (in a "Yay, now I'll always use this and think of my witch!" way) or tacky (in a "My witch is making this all about her!" way)? I would find it touching! Knowing more about the person putting so much thought into gifting me is always a good thing. Have you had a chance to try Halloweenies? If so, which ones are you really really in love with this year? I haven't, though I'd love to. Pocket shrines! Would you like one, made for a particular obsession of yours? Hah! The idea is adorable, though there's nothing I'm that into, really. 10/20/10 If you were my witchee, would you want to receive Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, or wouldn't that be your cup of classics? That'd be cool. Books in general are awesome. Would you like some homemade snack mix? Sure! Knitterly Witchees, would you like a yarn bowl? Not a knitterly witchee, alas. 10/21/10 What are you most interested in from the Yule update? Hahaha, oh dear. I'll have to go look. *returns* All of the Nutcrackers EXCEPT The Rat King and Grossvater (I don't know how to make the double S on my very American keyboard) Tanz, all of the Christmas Carols EXCEPT The Shadows of What May Be, all of the Yuletides. Just testable sniffies or partial decants would be perfect! Then I could judge what I wanted to get more of.

Which oils say, cool detached authority?

I think Tintagel. There's warmth to it, but (on me, at least), it doesn't seem to be a comfy sort of warmth for other people. At any rate, I wear it for the same reasons Hoyden said. Also, if you want to delve into LEs, some of the Warrior Queens may fit what you're looking for.
