    Hearth

I thought I'd love this from the scent in the imp. It is lovelyl, rich, sweet, caramelized goodness (with a hint of pine underneath). On it stays that way for a brief time, then the change happens. The sweetness dissapears, leaving a wierd pine-wet earth-murky might be nuttiness behind. I don't seem to get any smoke scent, no roasting chestnuts, and the pine is not a fresh crsip one on me. It seems more masculine, and is not a keeper for me. Bottle and imp to swaps!

    Annabel Lee

In the imp, and on initially this is very sweet, light, girlish. The sweet pea really stands out. As it dries (say, 30 minutes on) the sage becomes more prominent, and the moss, but still sweet underneath. For the life of me, it reminds me very much of Absinthe, even though they share no notes in common. It is the light, herbal, slightly sweet greeness that does it I think.

    Hecate

Strong almond! As it dries, the musk comes out to play a little, but the almond dominates. I like almond, but this is too much for me.

    Talvikuu

In the vial, this smells beautifully of berries and pine and clear cold air. On, it is initially very soapy, and then morphs into the smell of lichen, with a faint hint of pine and berry underneath. It is very masculine, and the lichen is damp, wet, mossy. All in all, not a scent for me at all.

    Midnight Mass

Incensy and nice. Not very sweet at all, but very rich and resinous. Definitly a dry scent. As it dries down, it becomes almost like pine-sap. I think this would work better on husband than myself, as it seems more masculine.

Very lovely. This works out to what I've always wanted Snake Oil to be. In fact, it is like a light, clean, less "burnt spice" Snake Oil. There is a sweet vanilla, with a faint spiciness underneath. It is lovely, and even my husband likes it. I don't know if I will get the bottle, as I love Antique Lace, but I might. Edited to add: Don't know what was up with my chemistry last week. Now it is very sweet tropical almost peachy, with hints of vanilla, no spice, not at all the same vanilla as Snake Oil. Same imp, so no accounting for it. Oh well Still nice, but I preferred the other version, as it was more vanilla-y than what I'm getting now.

    Jacob's Ladder

I'd been looking forward to this, and it is truly a golden scent. Soft, sweet amber, a touch of honey. It doesn't go to powder on me, but it isn't really very spicy either. It is smooth, even, golden amber. As it dries down it does develop a spiciness that is very nice, and on further dry down (hours later) it smells like honeyed amber, emphasis on the honey. I am undecided if I need a bottle, but will keep my imp.

    Snow White

A chilly, bright perfume: flurries of virgin snow, crisp winter wind and the faintest breath of night-blooming flowers. soft, creamy, cool, slight hint of coconut milk and slight hint of almond, joined together in a beautiful scent. It is very light, and simple, yet compelling. I don't get vanilla, mint, pineapple or flowers at all. I like this a lot, but around the 30 minute mark it developed a "dirty" edge to it (the same dust note that I get from Midway), and I don't know yet if that's just the way it is on me (I hope not!), or if that is because I had tried on a different scent first (even though I did wash it off...). But nothing plasticky, artificial or otherwise bad. I'll try it again, and if I don't get the "dirt", I'll probably be buying a bottle, since it is such a nice all-season scent. Edited to add: Pineapple appears after several hours. The dirt/dust note sticks around for an hour or so, and then it disappears when the pineapple appears. I'm glad it goes away, but it's long enough that I might not get a bottle. I love the beginning though-the scent of snowflakes in a bottle.

    Stardust

Sweet, intense, hairspray floral "perfumy" perfume. It dries down to a peachy, sweet floral with a "perfumy" edge. On me, it seems a warmer scent, heavy, with something underpinning it that seems slightly spicy-like clove or something. It's definitlly not me, and it gives me a headache, actually, so I will be swapping my imp. I am so glad I got to try it though!

    Bess

A very interesting scent, that I can't quite decide on. The first time I tried it, I got rosemary and mint, with a little rose and grape in the back. It was very nice, not too grape-y, with rosemary standing out most. Then the 2nd time I tried it, it became reminsicent of Haunted, which turns into a lemon/amber gummy bear scent on me. This did too, like lemon-grape gummy bears. Not my cuppa. I'll try a third time to decide. I want to love this, as I love the idea behind it.

    Kumiho

I love this. It is bright, clean, clear, fresh...lemon/citrus. I can see how it might be the ginger giving off that bite-a very fresh ginger. It isn't sweet at all, but there is the hint of the white tea that softens the citrus. And the white tea is beautiful! I like this better than Shangai, which was pretty weak on me, and also better than Embalming Fluid. On me, it lasts for hours and has some throw. It would be ideal for a hot day in summer, and I just might get a bottle of this.

    Yew-Trees

Yew Trees in the imp is soft pine. On, the pine strengthens for about 2 mintues, then softens to a gentle spruce with a sweet and nutty bottom. After 10 minutes, this has become coconut (I looked to make sure I wasn't the only one that got that!), the same coconut as in Perversion. It lasts and lasts, and reminds me of Perversion without the leather note that doesn't work on me. It is now 4 hours since I applied, and I am just beginning to get a little berry note. It's a beautiful scent. I really really like this!

    Antique Lace

I think this is the vanilla I've been waiting for! It is very like Black Opal-a cool vanilla, with white musk. But Black Opal gets very sharp on me, with some floral undertones, while this stays the soft vanilla. I don't think it is really soapy, and all day I would catch myself going "mmmmm". This will be at least a 5 ml. Lovely. Oh yeah, and it lasts. Put on at 9, still sniffable at 4. Edited to add: tried it again, and got a very sharp, headachey perfumy hairspray note, with the soft vanilla underneath barely discernible. I'm going to try it again and hope it's just a fluke, but if not...

    Rose Red

I was very excited by the descriptions of this, and hope that this will be the rose I can wear. In the imp, very green rose. On: holy rose batman! I used a bare amount, far less than I usually do (maybe 1/6th), and it is amped up. It is indeed a fresh cut rose, with lots of greenery. On me, it isn't as sweet as it seems to be on other reviewers, and I confess I wish it were a little sweeter. It stays amped up and incredibly potent for 30 minutes to an hour, then suddenly softens to an almost skin scented soft rose-like the lingering scent that stays on your skin after you've touched rose petals. This is very nice. I don't know why I feel this need to have a rose scent. This might be it (if I can get past the first 30 minutes...), but I also have an imp of Peacock Queen to try. The comparison will be interesting.

    Dreamland

I've been looking for the perfect tuberose, and this came very close. It is a sensual, musky tuberose, with carnatioin in the background. Something gives it a slight bitterness/sharpness that I don't like, however, and interferes with the creaminess of the tuberose. I really debated on this one, and ultimately sent it off to another forumite.

    Rose Cross

Rose. Not too sweet. Not much frankincense that I can tell. Amps up on me, unfortunately, so I probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway.

    Ouija

On me, this turns into a spicy floral with a deeper woody note in it. It stays spicy floral for a long time, then becomes spicy flowers with honey powder dusting them. It's nice. I like it. I don't think I'll need more than an imp though.

    Amsterdam

In the bottle, this smells incredible. I kept sniffing my imp yesterday and anticipating the same scent on me, and an immediate big bottle purchase. But it doesn't stay glorious on me. The verdict is out, because the sweetness fades, a perfumy green (as in not quite bloomed yet green, not herbal green) floral emerges... This gets replaced by grassiness and an aquatic in the background. I have to try it again when I don't have the preconceived idea of sweetness.

    Lolita

Very sweet and heavy, the heliotrope really stands out in this. I get honeysuckle and heliotrope, and no lemon verbena, or orange blossom. A nice scent, but sticky sweet and not for me. Heliotrope can go either way for me, and here it is too much. I swapped it away to a hopefully better home

    Blood Moon 2005

Yep, I think this might be my first keeper Moon too! I've tried a few and had just about given up hope...and here comes Blood Moon, that I almost didn't get! Just like most everybody else, I get cinnamon (stick, not red-hots), with grains lurking in the background (similar to those in Dana O'Shee, but without the sweetness-more of an oat-y smell I guess), and something slightly bitter just on the horizon. It is actually the wierd sharp tinge I associate with white musk on my skin, so my vote is for a lighter musk, not red musk (a note I love, and don't detect at all here). It does get sweeter as time goes on, the cinnamon becomes softer, and a vanilla-like sweetness pokes through. I still get traces of the grains. The bitter note is still present just a bit, and the only thing that I don't like as much about this scent-thankfully it is in the background! I think it is vey much a skin scent, and very good for cool weather. My husband and I both tried it, and it works great on either of us. I think I actually prefer it on him, but he says it is too much cinnamon for him. *sigh* It is a mighty sexy scent...

    Silentium Amoris

I would never have guessed rose and ylang ylang. On me, this scent is a very green, floral bouquet. Like a bouquet of meadow flowers just cut in the spring green, not sweet. I don't get rose at all. In the vial it smells sweet and light, floral and honeyed just a little. Really nice, I wish it had stayed that way on me.

    Moscow

Moscow is very different than I was expecting. It is almost all musk and amber with a hint of carnation and something incredibly sweet-like honey sweet. It reminds me a lot of Morocco actually. It is heavy and rich and decadent, and sensual and I almost love it, but it is just a little too sweet for me. (also, I never detected rose, tangerine, or jasmine at all)

    Samhain

Samhain smells very autumnal. It doesn't morph much on me. It starts out with the pumpkin and a hint of fir trees, but quickly the pumpkin takes the lead, and I can only detect pumpkin, and a hint of spice (not nutmeg or clove-could be allspice, or the black patchouli), with a soft edge to it. I cen never smell the apples, or mullein. It stays true to the soft, spicy pumpkin for perhaps 3-4 hours. It is very pleasant, and perfect for fall, but I discovered with this blend that pumpkin scents are not for me. It is in the swap/sale pile already.

    Sugar Skull

Very sweet and syrupy in the bottle, like caramel and brown sugar and maple all rolled together. It smelled wonderful! On, it stays that way for a few minutes (long enough for my DH to say "whatever you're wearing, I don't like it. It is too sweet!"), and then it morphs into syrupy prunes. Someone else said rum-soaked raisins, and that also describees it, though I associate that sticky sweetness and slight plumminess with prunes overall. After several hours it dries down into a distinct brown sugar scent that is very nice. And I surprised myself by deciding that, after all, I don't think I want a brown sugar scent! So, this is nice, but not for me. It'll go in swaps soon.

    The Haunted Palace

Rose and blood orange at first, equally mixed. There is a hint of heliotrope in the background, briefly, and a little warmth from the amber. I don't catch the musk or the vanilla specifically. I too was hoping for a more prominent musk, since I love red musk. It is a very rich, sensual fragrance, very apt for the theme. As it is, I like this blend, but don't love it. It is the blood orange that isn't quite working on me. I'm going to let this one age a bit and try it at a later date. I have a feeling it will age well. I hope so, since I was really looking forward to this one.
