    Lick It One More Time

Ohhh yum! Lick It One More Time smells very nice in the bottle and when wet. It has a very creamy scent along with the peppermint, all though the peppermint isn't as strong as I recall the other Lick It versions. As it dried on my skin, I detected definate chocolate notes which seemed to have a more fudgy consistancy than straight chocolate. Throughout the chocolate stage the mint did remain strong. I was a little disappointed, since this one did not last half as long as the older forumlations of Lick It. By mid day it had become a faint sweet scent on my skin. I think I will try it in my hair or on my hat next time and see if it lasts the whole day.

    Beaver Moon 2007

Today is Beaver Moon Day. Along with Beaver Moon 07 (which I tend to sadly neglect over 05) I wore my Beaver Moon 05 tshirt, to really get in the Beaver Moon mood. In the bottle the 07 version smells slightly sweeter than the 05 version. The whole thing has less of a cheesecake scent and more of a creamy berry feel. Wearing it seems to give a decent throw of a creamy-berry type scent. Not quite fresh bakery or cheesecake to me, but more like strawberry shortcake. Most of the way through the day it fades to a sweet berry type scent which isn't all that bad.

    The Fruit of Paradise

I really enjoyed this one. It stayed very true to a juicy, wet pomegranite for the entire day. I was quite tempted to lick my wrists or gloves, but fortunatly restrained myself. Since Saturday (when I wore it last), I have been dying for a fresh pomegranite, but alas that is just not to be. I did notice that about half way through the day it started smelling slightly sweeter, not in an unpleasant way at all- just more juicy than when I started. It did remain just as crisp and fresh. The Fruit of Paradise had decent throw, as I recieved a complament by a lady selling candles at the gun show. She was even able to pick out that it was a pomegranite based scent as well. It wasn't overpowering in small spaces (the truck), so it balanced out nicely. Overall, if you are as much of a pomegranite freak as I am, this scent is entirely for you!

    I Married a Vampire from Planet X

I've had fun with this one! Not sure exactly how to describe the bottle other than spicey with a bit of ceder- sort of like one of those old country stores that sell knickknacks and oldfashioned candy. It dryed down to sweet smelling cedar, sort of like one of those little suvinere boxes, without being too overpowering. My fiance really liked the spicy ceder smell. I got sniffed a lot on the way to work. After a couple of hours it seems to have turned into sweet cinnamon and clove. I rather like this, I didn't find it overpowering at all as the sweet smelling aspects kept the ceder scent on my skin in check. I was also happy when appearntly it made my lazy coworker stuffy, so he has been motovated to go out and actually DO some work for once, rather than ignoring it all until I got sick of it pileing up and decide to do it myself. As of now, I'm sort of reminded a bit of the way Uranus smells with the nice clove, but also the sweet aspect of Jailbait. The remainder really smells like the lovechild of Uranus and Jailbait. That's totally a good thing!

    Traveling with BPAL

I know it's a little late for some of the individuals who said they had large moves, but I'll just throw my two cents in here. When I moved from NH to Alaska, I had to mail pretty much EVERYTHING. For the BPAL imps, I tucked them all into .38/.357 hard plastic ammo cases, before putting them in the large shipping box with padding. That worked very well. For the bottles I ended up getting some styrofoam, and using an empty to push holes in it so I could nest the bottles in a layer of styrofoam. http://www.paintballcity.org/paintball/Lis.../BPAL%20001.jpg http://www.paintballcity.org/paintball/Lis.../BPAL%20002.jpg (pay no attention to the foot in the picture) After putting all that in boxes, I added more padding. I ended up cutting up an older foam mattriss pad thing which I had used for some camping before so it was extra secure. Everything arrived safely. One bottle leaked, but that was more due to the fact that it has a chip in the lip already, and I didn't want to use up rolls of teflon tape for that many bottles. It took long enough to fill up the styrofoam. That was borderline an embarissingly large amount of BPAL. I know this meathod will work even on planes, since I mailed it Priority which puts it in the air a few times before reaching Fairbanks. I figure if it can survive the USPS, travling across the continent for the most part, the boyfriend picking the boxes up in the pickup truck, and getting used as a bedside table for the first week, it's pretty good for international and moving companies too. I'd still insure the living heck out of it at any rate. I know the post office clerk looked at me funny when I insisted on insuring the box for quite a bit. And just so I don't seem like I'm a BPAL abuser or anything, they are all set up in a much more pretty manner on shelves and are getting used now.

    Fur Scents

As for GC scents, try Coyote. To me it's warm fur in a sunny grassy field. As for tanned fur, there isn't anything that comes directly to mind- I'd love it if BPAL had a scent like that. (Makes me think of my grandmother's fur coat from the 1950's). There are a few leather scents: Dead Man's Hand (LE scent from a while back, 04 or 05 Spring maybe, but pure leather goodness) De Sade has leather in it, not really a furry leather scent. Whip is roses and leather, I could see if you had fur with roses near it or something. Best bet for tanned fur would be if you could layer Dead Man's Hand with Coyote. Honestly, Coyote itself might be just what you are looking for. Best of luck!

    Oisin

Oisin is a pleasant blend of herbs with a very light and clean smelling musk. It reminds me of fresh breezes on a clear spring day. Unfortunatly it doesn't last too long on my skin as such. After wearing it for most of the day I tend to get a floral sweetness tone which isn't there upon the initial applicaiton. Overall it is a very nice soothing scent. I do wish it had a little bit more throw when applied to my skin. On that particular thought I did want to add that I had decent luck with it as a scent for my dresser. (I spilled a bit and wiped it up with a clean sock). It lasted very well, particularly the musk.

    The Gibbous Moon

I totally agree with catwoman30's review above mine! My experience with The Gibbous Moon was quite lovely as well- Lily of the Valley is one of my favorite spring scents. My mother always used to pick them for me when I was very young, and I have had a soft spot for that flower to this day. Gibbous Moon smells like a nice Lily of the Valley, but slightly more sweet. There is also a crisp-ness in the scent which makes it pleasantly sweet without a cloying nature. As I wore this one throughout the day, it had a plesant fade, by mid afternoon for some reason it brought on thoughts of a spring evening with crisp air.

    Uranus

A very warm spicy blend, clove with a touch of cinnamon undertones. I really smell more clove in mine than the cinnamon, but it has a nice balance all in all. This is one of those scents which seems to cling all day- another plus in my book. I tend to prefer foody type spice blends, I guess I like smelling like my mother's kitchen or something! Somehow this one brings winter baked goods to mind, but I can't think of which sort.

Samhain Soap (by Silk Road Trading Company)

I finally tried my first BPTP soap! I was so excited that I'm still damp from the shower! With mine, I noticed mostly the fall spices with a touch of the pine scent- not a fake pine scent, mind you, but a REAL walking through a grove of fur trees type odor. The pine part was very subtle and under the other spices, which I feel was very well done, so it wasn't like I was scrubbing with a hemlock bow or anything! I absolutely loved how well it lathered up. I have tried some hand crafted soaps before and not been too impressed, but I had nothing to worry about with this one. I also liked the little scrubbie bits in it. I didn't notice them when I first opened the soap, but after lathering up my bath poof they were pleasantly perceptible. The lather directly on my skin was delightful, and the scrubbies were just right lightly abrasive like they should be, but not the kind that feel like sandpaper on your skin. After my shower I feel very refreshed and happy. The BPTP soap has a lovely moisturizing quality, which I REALLY need up here in the Arctic desert. Even my hands and feet which are usually dry as a bone feel smooth and moist without seeming sticky or patchy. The Samhain scent just barely is noticeable if I sniff my skin directly, which is nice so it won't overpower everyone in my personal space OR clash with hair product or other scent I may decide to wear later on. I don't think I am able to stress enough how lovely and soft my skin feels. I will be VERY sad when I use up this soap, but I am also eagerly waiting to review the other Halloween soaps which are my original foray into any of the BPTP Bath products and Silk Road Trading Co's soaps... (In other words, Good Gods Girls! You've got a soap convert!!!)

    Schrodinger's Cat

I tried it on for fun last night. My skin amped a lot of the grapefruit and tangerine, mostly the grapefruit, which was very cool. I was sort of hoping for a bit more of the mint to show up- but it wasn't a bad thing. I hardly noticed the lavender or oakmoss at all, other than perhaps ensure it didn't have too sweet of a tinge when wearing it. I really enjoyed the citrus scents, especially since they were not too sweet. I found it to be very refreshing without overpowering everything. My only wish, is that it lasted a bit longer on my skin. It's such a different, yet fun scent especially with the slight whiffs of lime I caught occasionally while wearing it.

    Crypt Queen

I'm in heaven! I don't smell like dirty hippy butt from the patchouli! It's an awesome pomegranate, which is the aspect of Swank that I adore, with some really nifty undertones. While wearing it, I don't get too much fruit- nice pomegranate without being too sweet- plus what smells to me to be a sort of woodsy type cedar scent. I really REALLY like it. I have no idea what sort of scent that is either other than good. It seems to last very well on me too. I'm also impressed with the fact the scent is very consistent even hours later on my skin with what it smells like while in the bottle. The change is VERY minor- I only loose a little sweetness and end up getting slightly more of the darker undertones which I find very comforting. I was really waffling around about trying Crypt Queen and am WICKEDLY glad I decided to make the purchase. I also loved the cute little Halloween goodies in the box. The squishable jack o lantern with the gooey eyes nose and mouth that squeeze out when you squeeze it is hilarious! I also think the triple dagger sticker is going to have a lovely home on my car once I clean a spot to ensure proper stick-age! Once again, I can't get over how much I am enjoying this scent.

    EPIC BPAL Spreadsheet Thread

I plan to add them back in as I can. I tend to update the spreadsheet right after the updates are released, so there's a gap between then and when the reviews are available. You do an awesome job! Thanks for all of the updates. I updated the TAL section (and then posted it on the LJ Sin and Salvation community since the forum was down), but here you go if you want it handy: http://www.paintballcity.org/paintball/Lis...AL%20update.xls I wasn't trying to steal your thunder, I just got OCD about organizing my TALs one night when I couldn't seem to fall asleep. None are linked to the reviews, since it drives me nuts as I'm apt to inadvertently touch pad onto them and open a browser tab. Yes, I'm special like that.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Don't worry, I believe this form's PM system only saves copies if you check a box below the message field. It's one of the only forums that has that enabled which I've run across at the moment. I just looked again at the snakepit pictures- they look so pretty. I agree with Tramp about label art if they end up recreating them.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I believe I read somewhere it has to do with pores being open more after showers. (Ie- it has to do with the heat more than just the water) I'd also imagine it makes a difference that when you shower you do also clean off the oil your skin produces itself. Don't hold me to it, or quote me on it, that's just what I heard through the grapevine at this point. I find the only bad reaction I've had is to some of the scents with cardamom. I sneeze like CRAZY from it. Never even made it onto my skin for those few oils. I can bairly open it before sneezing senseless. Hence why Spanked was so swiftly swapped for Snowblind with me.

    Mantle of Venus

Goodness me... On this past weekend, I did a very small testing ceremony of Mandle of Venus. I took my morning wake up sort of a meditation/focus routine and incorporated this TAL. While holding the imp I concentrated on the ocean and the Bottecelli painting "The Birth of Venus" came distinctly to mind. While thinking of this I began to think about the pieces of my life which I would like to change- frustrations with my job, money being tight, the changes in my love life, etc. I sniffed the oil while concentrating and "wishing" things could start picking up. The scent is very clean, yet with a slight herbally touch. I applied a little to my wrists, neck and my hair. As the day went on, the scent lightened up and seemed to be sweeter and sort of fresh like a clean breeze. Later in the day I went to the beach with someone very special to me. (ok my ex who I wanted to sort my feelings out regarding) We spent some nice time together walking up and down the beach- we even found a large whole sandoller which was entirely a shock considering the water at this beach is very rough and usualy smashes them before they make it to shore. In retrospect I can see this as some sort of inkling that maybe something good shall come. All day I could pick up little whiffs of the sweetly fresh scent- a background to a very nice day. As for results: Yesterday I was informed I recieved a decent raise for my new position at work. I will start training on Monday, and shall recieve my raise retroactivly from the first of the month! My ex recieved a raise this week, and continues to pay me back. He also promised me a substantial lump sum when he recieves an inheritance check any time now(since I put the downpayment on his truck back in 04). I have a feeling the ex and I will end up back together eventually. For some reason this isn't an awful thing. Long backstory here. Even my friends admit that this is not necessairly a bad thing, as long as he continues to behave. One friend told me that it is blatently appearnt he is absolutly devoted to me. Along those lines, the Hot Engineer from a few months ago messaged me this afternoon and actully started talking to me again! Color me impressed.

    Aizen-Myoo

Ohh my! This is very wonderful- Aizen-Myoo is a very refreshing and wet smelling sweet grapefruit. Fresh and cooling. I don't get too much of the cherry blossem on my skin until hours after application where the grapefruit scent dies and I'm left with a very light yet sweet scent. I'm very pleased with this scent! This came as a surprise to me, since it isn't the normal scent I go for. I've designated it as a definate summer scent to enjoy. Great for hot stickey weather!

    Traveling with BPAL

That is a REALLY good idea. Teflon Tape would work wonders- especially since it's fairly cheep, eaisly found, and keeps leaks to a minimum in hoses and pipes and whatnot. It's even fairly easy to remove. Good idea!!!

    Imp of the Perverse

I posted this in the BPALanon LJ community, but figured I should be less lazy and toss it up here too: This weekend while sniffing my goodies, I realized how darn much I love The Imp of the Perverse. At first it wasn't really a true love story. It was the whole roses, with something under it I wasn't so sure of. I'm not usually in love with Roses anyway. I do have a thing for Rose Red, since it seems to have a beach rose-esque scent. As time went on I found I kept comeing back to that little imp and sniffing it more and more. I swair The Perverse practically made me cream my jeans after the first 15 minutes! Finally, as the boyfriend and I went out to enjoy the weekend it stayed in my mind. I wasn't even really wearing any at that time (we were at his mom- she is still surrounded by death flowers since her brother just passed away- too much conflicting scent makes my head hurt). I now find myself thinking of the scent of The Perverse at odd moments of the day since the moment of sniffing. It's blowing my mind! Does this mean I'm somehow obsessed with rare scents that I know I won't have large quantities of? If so, then why havn't I gone Blue Moon insane yet? I do so love that one too, but I never thought of Blue Moon at random moments of the day like I do with The Perverse. Or anything else uber rare for that matter. Mayhaps I'm addicted to the cognac? If that's the case, I wonder if the NH state liquor store would let me open a bottle just to sniff and see if that is the scent craved by my pickey little nose? Oh, and for that matter: The Perverse Roses show up first with a stronger and allmost medicinal scent crawling under their petals. At first my nose isn't overly fond of it. It's sharp, yet subtil and hidden well below the roses. After thought and revisiting, it's amazing. The Perverse seems to send little fingers into your brain, locking around the "CRAVE" cortex. It's all I can think about!

    Peace

I had a difficult night so far, thus I decided to sample Peace while I go to bed. I recieved an imp in a lab order sometime over the past year. (shush I know I've slacked big time on reviews!) Pepperish notes with Juniper? My first impressions are intriuged. It's absolutly calming. I felt better and less tense as I sit and sniff. There's something a little sweet under the rest of it, maybe a light flower like a hint of lilly of the valley and violet. Definatly Juniper and some lavander are what I notice the most, but not the garden lavander- the sea lavander that grows in a salt water marsh. More of a tang to it. I do feel soothed, similar reation to Anthelion which I tried the other day.

    Drunken Bunnies

The Four Hundred drunken bunnies told me to do it... Really. I love wearing Centzon Totochtin- it lasts all day and reminds me that there's better things in life than just work. Besides the cocoa and a bite (blood?) seem to show through really well. I spent Friday sniffing my writst seeking comfort. Hot Call Center Guy never messaged me back on myspace. So I'm not cool enough for him or something. Whatever. Jerk. (I know he saw it because he had signed on and stuff) Prolly just ignoring it... I'm not cool like the rest of 'em. As for Erik- I asked him if he wanted me to stop writing to him since it's kinda odd to have a younger, single, and friendly woman talking to him through his divorce- AND I think we're both flurting with eachother quite a bit. Dangerious territory. But then again, I suck at figuring out flurting. Erik answered that message by replying with a sweet reply, photos of his cats (I asked what they look like in another part of the message), and ended with a photo of him. He's actully really pretty sweet/cute/attractive looking especially for a guy that's got 5 years on me. *sigh* Guess I'm going to get through April. Through the birthday and Castle Conquest. Then if he hasn't shaped up I'm going to ask for a month or so to myself. Not to go out and get laid by everyone else, but just to see if it gets his ass in gear to grow up. Ben stopped by today which was great! I really enjoyed catching up with him and talking about everything. We talked about our relationships, fun stuff, how work is going for both of us, and really enjoyed the time to bum around. Ben is a great guy. I love having a close friend who is like a brother.

Why Not Just Go to Sleep!?

Yep. didn't go to sleep. I should have. My issue= EVERY guy other than the boyfriend is looking good to me. Any one giving me attention in a positive manner is a good thing. Now Schmitti (a paintballer I knwo from the team is starting to look good to me). Damn damn damn. Bad Erik for being all sensitive, cute, and funny in emails back and forth! Bad me for enjoying writing! Really bad me for being stressed and not wanting to run to the boyfriend.

Rock 'N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution

Well, I scored today at work (no, not with hot call center guy who is now back from being sick!!!!!!), someone turned the raido station to sweet tunes from the 70s and 80's. I arrived at the bank listening to Led Zepplin!!!!!!!! Fortunatly it stayed on all day. I actully enjoyed the tuneage. Cheap Trick, Zepplin, Van Halen, Lynard Skynard, and a bunch of other good stuff. Unfortunatly one of the VPs noticed by the end of the day and said they would have to change it to something, "More Bank-ie" *sigh* I suppose one day is better than none. I really drooled over Alex today. I emailed him that I was concerned for him, and I was glad to see him back since he said he felt icky. Got to talk to him and told him I did miss having him around since he's really nice and a lot nicer than the other CSRs there. Yes, I am indeed a looser when it comes to guys I have a thing for. I also asked him when his Van Halen tribute band plays and if he could let me know so I could go see since the decent tunes in the bank came up in convo. Too bad it was so short. I want to do VERY bad things to him (HEY! There should be a dryhump smiley. I'd laugh) Seriously. I fantasize about that guy. It's, well, ok I'll stop here. I am really working up the balls to ask him to dinner or anything sometime after work, but I do fear the whole saying of "Don't put your sex toys in dishwasher on the same cycle as your dinnerwear." But hell. I just need someone like that around, who doesn't have certian problems in bed, and at the lack of saying something shallow, someone who is so sexy. On an entirely differnt note from carnal lust Diane, one of the other people who works (well worked) for the bank came in sort of to say goodbye. She went to the hospital complaining of headaches and blurry vision last week. Turns out she has a brain tumor and lung cancer. I think her daughtor said it was type 4. I was pretty close with her. She started last summer, and is sort of like an auntie to me. She was part of our "Stitch & Bitch" craft night, and we were going to have it at her place this spring on the pourch. She has the best outlook on everything, and I really admire her for that. Today it was AWESOME to see her!!!! She looked great (not sickly at all), and is moving up to Maine with her daughter's family- which is good for them. Fortunatly it's Old Orchard Beach so I'll come visit her a few times. At least that's where Decha and the Maine crew always try and get us to meet up since it's midway between Bangor and Concord. I was so glad that the other ladies in the lending department kept me updated, I mean I don't work upstairs, but Diane was one of my favorite people to work with and do lunch with. I'm really glad I can keep in touch with her, and I asked her if she would want to do a lunch or something with me on my birthday since I'll be up in Portland area. She said she'd love to! So I'll definatly drop her a line. That rocks. I'm glad she is still the same vibrant lady. She was laughing and just glad to see everyone. That's the way anyone should be. Even when one knows the end may be drawing close, why not look at every day as a good one? Why not enjoy friendships and those around? I hope when I'm at that point in my life that I have the same grace and vibrance Diane embodies.

    Pink?

Well Huh! I found something pink that I like (Pink Moon does not count). I love the SheDevil skin on the forum. It's refreshing and differnt. Plus the chick up in the corner makes me grin. Nice job! Anyone else out there like the newest South Park episode: 140 The Return of The Chef ? Talk about a cross between wrong and hilarious. I loved the analogy to Scientology they made with the Super Adventure Club. I am still bummed out that Isaac Hayes left. Especially after much eairlier he claimed that he wasn't mad/offended by Trey and Matt. I believe it was something like, "The thing you have to understand with Matt and Trey,They Lampoon everybody and if you take that s*&t seriously I'll sell you the Brooklyn bridge for $2" On Opie & Anthony's interview on XM. Oh well. At least Kenny is still there.

    Firsts

Hello! Wow my virgin post on BPAL blogs! Not much to say for now other than hi! I'm pretty psyched, I am waiting on two decant groups- The Chakeras and Qliphoth. Not to mention the order I made on the lunar update. I'm dying for the Monster Bates to arrive. *te-hee* Monster Bates. That still cracks me up. It's really wonderful to see the forum rocking the world again, allthough I still love bpaladdicts Live Journal community. I can't wait for Pluto to go live in the next Lunar Update. That's one of my favorite paintball scents. It's pepperish so the mosquitos and other bugs stay clear as I run through the wood and paint my friends. The sad thing is that I'm close to assigning a BPAL scent for every marker that I have. They all have personalities, and are differnt (yes even the handful of VMs I have are all individuals) so they deserve their own BPAL. Besides, the Hurricane would smell good if I could soak the wooden stock with some Hurricane. I'd love to have something good smelling for Castle when I'm doomed to stay in a bunk with a bunch of loud stinky men! I'll try to keep this updated better than my LJ. Even if it's just little blerbs. Have a good one everyone- and HUZZAH for the forums once again!
