It's a pale, creamy sort of wave. I think what I'm amping the most is vanilla silk, sandalwood and musk, so there's a very sweet softness to everything. The florals are there, but they're so muted, diffused. After about half an hour, I mean... it's just the dreamiest, creamiest vanilla sandalwood musk. Incredible. The amber gives everything a sweet, soft muskiness. I do really have to hunt for any kind of strawberry note, and don't really get any "lip gloss" aspect, but I don't really care - ever since I lost my beloved Cake Pop Wreath I've been looking for a great cake scent. It's a very soft scent on me. Immediately on applying, I was reminded of both A Chocolate Cat from Yule 2021, and Bast. Now that I've compared them all side by side, I can see how they're all quite different, but they all have the commonality of a soft amber note, with the cacao. I do find the cacao in Caramel Vulva definitely takes a back seat, but it's definitely there. Cognac and florals wear off after the drydown, leaving behind the oak and amber notes. With more time, the black musk comes out as well, darkening things even further. I have never smelled the original ghost milk that this is a variant on, so I can't speak to that, but this smells like i am standing in an incredibly bougie all natural ingredients ice cream bar, with my nose inches away from a sweet, vanilla cashmere/white chocolate soft serve cone, i can even catch the edge of the waffle cone note now that it has dried a little bit. it doesn't have a lot of throw yet, fresh from travel, but i feel like this is going to bloom. I suppose this would be the black moss, but it's got this almost umami-mushroom quality to it. Towards the end of its wear, I get a dry, slightly incensey quality, and the whole blend goes much drier, the rice becomes more like the smell of uncooked jasmine rice, which was an interesting nuance to be able to discern. It's a fun one! The orris is not really detectable, more here to provide some coolness. I could not detect the osmanthus at all. Goes on strong but recedes very close to my skin very fast, maybe within 30min. Very short wear, within 2-4 hours it's basically gone unless I shove my wrist directly under my nose. I like this one, and I'm glad I got to try it, but I don't think I'll need more than my decant. Wet on the skin, you get all three of those combinants but the black coffee note and magnolia win out as the strongest on first application. Immediately on the skin, I get fruit, both dark and Berry like, blackcurrant is a little stinker of a fruit sometimes, and a chewiness that must be the dates. The fruits dominate on skin, with a tendril of cool, dark, musky incense. It is not as aggressively prominent on the benzoin as sometimes benzoin can be to me, I think the fruit tempers it into a true supporting player, creating an air of curiosity beneath purple sweet fruits.Fri, 14 Aug 2026 23:11:32 +0000I got a bottle of this today and I had to try it right away, I couldn't even let it rest! What I got was an exquisite fougere dancing with a soft lavender and sandalwood base coating a bed of sage and soft, well-worn leather. It's really beautiful. @OxfordComma got it right, this truly does smell like dapper lads in the sun!
