    Twilight

Twilight: An enigmatic, otherworldly scent, brimming with power and mystery. Lavender and jasmine, with a touch of glowing honeysuckle. In the bottle I smell lavender and something sweet. Twilight should be something I like because it carries three florals I love seperately. Wet on, the honeysuckle comes out to the foreground tempered by the jasmine. Really nice springtime scent. On the drydown, the honeysuckle stays to the foreground. Smells just like it does in the summer when the honeysuckle bushes are in full bloom and the evening breezes carries the scent wafting in through my bedroom window. Dry, this is a lovely floral blend of mostly honeysuckle with some lavender notes in the background. Luckily I don’t smell too much Jasmine because I realized I don’t think I would like the blend of honeysuckle and jasmine much. A great springtime scent, one for an imp though, I don’t think I would use a big bottle much.

    Mabon 2004

Mabon I got this in a swap from another BPAL'er, and was so excited to recieve it. In the bottle was a wonderful harvesty scent of berries, apples and a bit of cherries. Wet on, still the same lucious scent. So good! Drydown, the cherry scent is coming out a bit more, nicely cut with the scent of crisp apples. Dry, a good blend of scents, but I found that the cherry was all I seemed to smell as I moved around, and I am not overly fond of cherries unless blended with something a bit stronger. Sadly it went into the swap pile.

    Ice Queen

Ice Queen: This smelled wonderfully in the bottle. A beautiful mix of light musk an berries with a hint of florals. Wet, still a nice mix with the musk fading a bit and the florals coming out more. On drydown and dry. Unfortunately, on me, the fruit disappeared and all I was left with was heavy floral to the point of getting a headache. I reallllly wanted to love it, it sounded so good and smelled so delicious in the bottle.

    Mantis

In the vial I smell a combination of the amber and a slight scent of citrus. Wet on, the cirtus is coming out more now, smell a bit of the musk and amber. Drydown, the citrus is coming out more and the other scents are retreating into the background. Dry, unfortunately, on me, this turned totally citrus. This would be a nice summer scent as it isn't too strong, but I don't think this is going to work out for me. Sad, because I really thought I would love it.

    Skadi

Skadi: In the bottle, pine and something else...hard to determine through the pine. On, wet, it is a deep, chill pine and some grapefruit coming through the background. Just lovely, even though the pine is a bit heavy. Dry down, still pine, but the grapefruit is there more and now you can get some of the berries peeking through. Dry, what a beautiful blend of berries and pine. The scent has actually warmed up from the intial chill feel to a warm winter feel. I love this scent!!! I will be wearing this quite often this winter and I will pray Beth makes this again next year! Thank you Beth!!

    Frost Moon

In the bottle, it has a strong mint/eucalyptus scent. Almost a bit of chocolate and something else I can't put my finger on. Wet on, very strong mint scent, with barely a hint of something sweet/floral underneath. Dry down, the mint is fading and a lovely floral scent is coming through more strongly. Dry, the mint is just about gone, unbelievable but true. Now there is only the lovely floral scent and some aquatics as well with a just a tiny hint of mint. A lovely scent in the bottle and wet that morphed into a gorgeous scent that I will be wearing alot for the next few days.

    Nanshe

The Babylonian Goddess of Dreams, who bestows the power of Oneiromancy onto her priests. This blend opens up psychic sensitivity during sleep and aids in the understanding and correct interpretation of portents and symbols. Ooo, I'm first to review this. I am not too good at this so bear with me. In the bottle: There is the strong scent of lavender and not much else. Wet: As soon as it goes on, out comes a strong lemon scent, maybe verbena. A combination of the two on the skin, very nice smelling. On the drydown: Still get a very heavy lemon scent, the lavender has faded a bit into the background. Dry: Scent stayed true from wet to dry, strong on lemon with lavender in the background. I love both these scents alot and often use lavender at bedtime. This will definitely be a scent I use for sleep and probably one I will use in the summer as well. A very nice blend.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

Sorry, about that. Thanks for moving it and I had read that, wanted to make sure that was what it was.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I just received my 9/28 order (Thank you lab lovelies!! ) and received the imp of Scherezade that I ordered. It was one of those things that I wanted to try and wound up getting from somewhere in a swap. Which is cool and all because it gives me an extra one to share or swap with. HOWever....they are not even close to the same color. Now I know sometimes Beth has to go to different distributers for oils when one runs out, but one of these is a really pale yellow color and the other is brown. Could someone share some light on why this is? I actually haven't tried them yet, but they smell very similar, not quite exactly the same. Thank you.

    Samhain

Samhain. I wasn't very sure how I would feel about this one from reviews, but I ordered it anyway. I am very glad I did! It is evey scent you think of that relates to fall, Halloween and thanksgiving. It changes, morphs and changes back again. It's spicey and nutmeggy and pumpkiny. You can smell the fall leaves as you kick through them and smell the first lighting of a home's fireplace. It is definitely a scent to look forward to enjoying when the weather turns from summer to the crisp beginnings of fall. I am excited with this one!

    Sea of Glass

Another freebie from the lab in my last order. This is the rare type of blend that doesn't change much from first sniff in the bottle to drydown on the skin. I LOVE this scent! It smells familiar, I can't quite place my finger on it. It has a strong crisp scent, but it is not overpowering at all. It invokes visions of coming out of a lush tropical paradise full of big luscious blooms, raining petals down on the floor, and walking right out to a beach stretching along the ocean. Breezes drift by carrying the mingled scent of the water and blooms.....just perfect. A bigger bottle is a definite must!

    Xiuhtecuhtli

Xiuhtecuhtli This was a wonderful freebie from the lab and I am thrilled that I got to try it! This is a very intriguing scent, very orangy and somewhat spicy when wet. As it was drying down the ornage slid to the background and beautiful florals came out more. Dry, it is a creamy yummy goodness, with a slightly spicy, orange floral scent....blended deliciously! Thank you everyone at the lab for throwing this into my order.....I don't think I would have tried this one at all.

    Glasgow

Old Glasgow I got this one from Miggins, and it is a delightful blend of blackberries and heather. Each scent is complete and compliments the other, neither overpowering at all. Straight in the vial it is a strange blend of blackberries and heather. After the drydown, it mellowed to a beautiful scent of heather overlayed by blackberries. Unfortunately this scent fades fast, but for the time that it actually lasts it is beautiful. Definitely a keeper and worth getting a much bigger bottle.

    La Petite Mort

La Petit Mort Seduction, sensuality, the Act, and the aftermath all in one. The scent of warm, damp skin flushed with the glow of passion, touched by the luxuriant potency of ylang ylang and myrrh. Great scent in the bottle, really smell the ylang ylang (which I love) and probably the myrrh, which I have not smelled yet. On wet, ugh, really didn't like the way the scents combined on my skin but stuck through it. On the drydown, the scent is getting better, not as bad as wet, can't describe it well enough. Dry, it has morphed into a beautiful scent surprisingly! I really thought that I would hate this, but it really is a sweet soft scent, very warm smelling. Definitely one to keep around and one that will need to be put on a bit before I go out.

    Wanda

Wanda My first review...and i suck at picking out notes, so bear with me. In the bottle you get a strong whiff of the merlot overlayed with the violets and what I assume is myrtle (no idea what that smells like). Very sweet and slightly heady scent. On the skin wet, still very strong wine and some leather scent. Also smell a tiny chocolate scent that disappears very quickly...very nice. On the drydown, the wine has mellowed up and the floral scent has come out to play a bit. No hint of the chocolate I scented and the leather is slightly present in the background. Overall I LOVE this scent. Great mix of sweet and floral and has great lasting power. Not too heavy, and I love getting a whiff of it as I move. I'll be getting a bigger bottle of this down the road.
