    Eldena Ruin

Oof first! But since these are coming down soon, I wanted to give my notes. This one is sharp and green and stony. It definitely paints a picture. It starts out with ivy curling up an old oak tree outside a crumbling stone ruin. There s a sharp greenness, mellowed a bit by the woody oak, but the stone is a dry, crumbly scent. After it dries down it stays sharp and green but gets an almost powdery note on my skin that might be the fossil amber. It does have a bit of a cologne feel to it, with the clean greenness. If you like the lab's green mossy notes, definitely give this one a try. It lasts quite a long time on me and has medium silage. I have a lot of green scents but I am definitely debating picking up a bottle before the come down.

    Grave Moss & Bone Splinters

This goes on with the lovely soft green scent bpal uses in many of it's moss notes, but it's warmed by a smooth sandalwood. I love BPAL's white sandalwood (but I know a lot of people don't) and it doesn't go powdery on me, it's more a warmth on my skin, so this is a fantastic mix of warmth and greenness on me, with a bit of underlying cleanness. I suppose some would consider this more cologny with that moss note, but it's definitely wearable by anyone. I'm not sure that it's white sandalwood in this one, but the sandalwood here smells the same to me as the one in the Fig and White Sandalwood hair gloss (which I love and hope comes back soon!). Full bottle for me.

    Batty Perversion

This is so pretty. I tried the original perversion a long time ago and remembered not loving it because it was just too much on me. This is perfect, somehow a bit tamer and more refined on my skin, easier to wear somehow. It starts with a chewy tobacco and and the sweet rum. I don't get a ton of leather, just enough to make this kind of soft and cozy. The Black musk is there lending a bit of clean softness. It's all blended gorgeously. I'm not getting coconut or pina colada like others with this but there might be a hint of fruitiness that's not in the original. Unfortunately it doesn't last super long on my skin, but I'm happy to reapply. I'll be picking up a full bottle for sure.

    Dapper Mandrake Goes A-Courtin’

This goes on like a wash of green, herbal cologne. It's clean and strong with a hint of aftershave but in the best way. It dries down on me to a herbal unisex scent, very green and slightly dirty, and brings to mind the image of a wizard who tends to his own garden and smells like the herbs and roots he harvests. I really like this one and am glad I have a bottle.

    Arana

I was lucky enough to score this on one of the Lab's ebay drops and I'm so glad I did. I'm a huge fan of Antikythera Mechanism and this completely scratches that itch in a lighter, almost more summery way. It opens with the sharp biting oak of AM and lots of vanilla. The oak really comes out swinging on me, and I think the agarwood is amping it up a bit. There's a point where it goes kind of powdery on my skin, and I don't love it but after about an hour it dries down into this lovely soft wood scent that's almost a creamy vanilla oak and it's gorgeous. I keep getting whiffs of myself and smiling. I'm not really getting a cologne/masculine scent from this at all, but I don't find Anti Mech is masculine on me either, this one is just a pretty, woody vanilla that I really love.

    Witches’ Kitchen

On my skin, this opens with a blast of herbal leather, like a leather satchel a witch has used to store her herbs in while gathering them in the forest. I get something spicy and almost minty as well, and a feeling of dusty dryness that makes this smell of dried herbs rather than fresh. It's strong right out of the bottle and stays very present as the leather and herbs slowly meld into something that's almost cozy, if you consider sitting in a witch's workshop while they brew potions cozy (sign me up!). I'm not getting any bourbon tobacco, or anything to sweeten this one up, and that's okay, this one is all about the strong, herbal notes on me, with a backing of soft brown leather. I really like this but not sure I need a full bottle.
