  1. Thank you for all the great suggestions. I'm going to have to try and get my hands on some of those. I do believe I have some imps in my huge collection so I have a good start.
  2. I have recently fallen deeply in love with Purple Phoenix and want to try anything that has the same "feel". I seem to think I like the grape and violet notes the best, and yet I feel there may be some floral notes in there that I'm not quite familiar with, but enjoy.......... I'm looking for any recommendations on scents - preferably ones that are easy to get. I have tried Horreur Sympathique, and while I like it, it's not quite as floral as Purple Phoenix and I do believe that it's the violet I am missing. I have Nocturne and it's heavenly, hence I believe the violet is a hit for me. TIA

This one blew me away! I decided to buy a full size without having even taken a whiff cause I thought the name was so intriguing. I thought the notes sounded like something I would enjoy and I am so happy that I did. I LOVE this one!! The orange is very dominant in the bottle, but then once applied to my skin it becomes creamy - almost like an orange creamsicle - and then as it dries down a slight hint of florals followed by warm, rich, smoky, incense. The longer it stays on the skin, the smokier it gets. This one is moving to my favorites box and is definitely going to be worn a lot. I'm also thinking this one will age very well, and I'll probably buy one just to tuck away and wait..........

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

That was my issue! I love the BPAL bottles and just couldn't bear the thought of decanting and not using the bottles. They're so beautiful.........

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

Wait wait, so you found roller balls that fit right onto your BPAL bottles?? And the cap still fits and everything?? The rollerballs fit right into the BPAL bottles, however you have to use their cap as the regular cap is not deep enough. I got mine from GotOilSupplies and they work great! I have used the bottles for my other essential oils. I went back onto the site and found these. They should work without having to buy the entire bottle. That is so cool, thanks for the info! I love the idea of a roller bottle, but am way too attached to my BPAL bottles to switch over. My only concern would be the metal, I have heard folks mention metal can react with certain oils/scents?? Someone did mention that in another post so I did some research..... When working with essential oils stainless steel is preferred as it does not react with the oils. Most companies that supply essential oils will also often sell the bottles with stainless steel rollers, so I'm pretty sure if there was a problem with interaction they would be the first to tell you to avoid it. Apparently, aluminum is the metal to be avoided. Plastic rollers are discouraged as some oils (in particular citrus oils) will eventually eat away at the plastic and contaminate your oil, and prevent the roller from rolling smoothly. Keep in mind that the above applies to essential oils and not necessarily to BPAL, but I'm assuming that most of what goes into our beloved scents is the same.

I bought some roller balls and have found that the most effective way to apply scent to my skin. I ordered wand caps with my BPAL order, but found that the roller balls which fit perfectly into the 5ml bottles work the best for me. I apply full strength behind the ear, elbow joint, knee joint, base of throat and a touch above the belly button. Yeah..... I like to slather the good stuff all over!

    Yves St. Laurent Opium smell-alike?

Resurrecting this thread in the hope that someone has found something similar. Or even blending scents to achieve something similar.

    Event Horizon

OMG! I'm in love! This is dark, mysterious and as it's description says: Heavy and oppressive, but in an oh, so sexy kinda way. My husband said it reminds him of the Dior Poison that I used to wear. I get that, and am so happy that I tried this one. It's without doubt right on top of my favorites list. Now if only I could find one that smells similar and does the same for me as my beloved YSL Opium..........
