    Chaos Theory VII: Gourmand

Bottle 1: Starts out as a really nice creamy orange, and slowly morphs into smelling like creamy orange candy heart. Neat! Bottle 2: Starts out very undefinable to my nose, then as it dries goes towards.. spices? Not really my thing. 2nd day: Actually pretty cool. Smells like a combination of leather, spices, and outdoors with a little sweet in the background. That'll teach me to try bpal on without letting it sit.

    Switch-witch 2012

Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? I probably eat 1 s’more every year. They’re yummy, but way too sweet. What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) *whee* I love kitchen gadgets, spices, bento supplies, and copies of people’s favorite recipes. I love love love cooking. Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? Definitely. I tend towards men’s sizes, tho. I wear an XL. What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc? The darker, the better! No nuts, or white chocolate, tho. In small amounts  I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? I’d be thrilled with little packets of spices, or pepper, or spicy jams, or Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? Anything in small amounts. My diet is going pretty well, but I don’t want tempt myself too much. I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! I would head over to the outdoor section and see if there are any windchimes, or interesting crafty Halloween decorations. What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants? I like seafood (mostly blue crabs and scallops), Italian, Sushi, anything grilled.. I think my favorite restaurant is Sushi Sono, or Jerry’s Seafood. I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? Postcards of Banff? what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? I like Supernatural, Firefly, Loki, and Person of Interest. I don’t wear many t-shirts, tho. I’m game to try however! Do you have an eReader and if so which one? I have a Nook, and a Sony e-reader. I love e- books.  Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? I like both candles and tart burners. I go for vanilla, pumpkin, mulled cider, blueberry scents. Marzipan? Not really..way too sweet for me. Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? That’s an awesome idea! I’d love those. Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? I don’t tend to drink much vodka. Red wines, tho.. yum! If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? Spices or postcards would be keen! If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? I would love a totoro. It’s a small stuff animal pattern I saw on ravelry. A cowl would be very nice as well! Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? If you included some toy for my husband to play with our three cats, he’d be thrilled. He’s mostly bemused by my perfume hobby. Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Definitely! I like cooking with rice. I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? Absolutely! And especially if you included the recipe. Would you be interested in having a bat adopted in your name? That’d be cool! It’s always fun watching them in the evening. How would you feel about a taste of (insert witch location here) box? As long as there wasn’t much in the way of sweets, I’m all for it! Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern? If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images? I could! I’m a sucker for frogs and wombats. I’ll try to hunt up some images. Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs? I know there are awesome amber scents out there on the GC that I’d love to try. I’ll look! I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish? I don’t actually know much about nail polish. I’ve bought OPI, but just because that’s what the salon had. I really like teal colors for my toes. Rescue Beauty had an awesome teal, but they are way too expensive. Stuffed things: yea or nay? YAY! New Question: mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you? A good idea! I’d likely lean more towards soup in a jars. Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area? Wine, definitely. I’m mostly in to some of the sweeter reds, but will give anything a shot. Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials? I really want to learn to felt. Someday… someday. Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas? Me! I’m a big fan of their flavored green teas. Do you Ravelry? And if so, what's your handle over there? Would you be interested in gift patterns from your queue? I mean to, but haven’t much. My handle over there is scotchbonnet, and I’d love hints as to how to make better use of the website. I live near this very cool Retro store (retrodrygoods.com) (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them? Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses? Sadly, not I What does your kitchen look like? Colors/style? It’s a decent size room, with a window bench looking out into the back yard. It’s pretty French country looking. Lots of gadgets! And cats. Witchee, what are your favorite quotes? Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays!

Chaos Theory VI: Recursive Self-Similarity v7

I just got my 4 bottles of Vanilla-y Chaos To my nose, I get: #238 - After I got over the *OMG get it away* smell in the bottle, on my skin it's nicely smokey and gingerbready. No discernable vanilla. My favorite of the bunch. I'm glad I skin tested it! #242 - Gingerbread and black pepper, with a small vanilla background #255 - A heavy something (wood?)(rind?) with brighter almost candy sweet trying to peek out. #256 - Vanilla and strawberries, straight up.

Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

Disclaimer: I'm horrible at picking out notes. DV - A fresh clean rose and honeysuckle DCLIII - A heavy incensy spice, with a slight zing through it DLXXII - I have no idea. none. It's close to licorice, but it's not. It is also not a floral. Or fruit. Minty not-licorice? DLXXIII - Smokey minty fruit? And the only one I'm keeping: DXIX - Very similar to DCLIII. Smokey incense, spice but there's a softer floral note in there. This is my favourite of the bunch.

    Shanghai Tunnel

In the imp and wet on my skin, this smells like being in the Lurray Caverns. Minerally, wet dripping rocks. I admit to a certain dubiousness. Then as it dried, it got sweeter. Sort of like finding a small flower garden underground. I enjoyed this scent alot! It amped like anything on my skin. A friend said it smelled like some sort of foody rock. Huh.

    Lydia

This starts out a sharp, sweet smell, and settles down quickly into a almost spicey/almost floral(jasmine?a really subdued jasmine? Jasmine smelled through beeswax?) scent. It's also got kind of a heady quality to it. It sticks close to my skin, but seems to last forever. It's been pretty straightforward too. No morphing. I'm glad I got to try this, but it's not for me.

    The Unheavenly City

Thanks to GypsyRoseRed and her C13 sniffie circle! The Unheavenly City starts out creamy and fruity on me, and slowly settles into a sharper berry(?) and musk with cream keeping things under control. It's lovely! But it's kind of heavy on my skin. I'm really glad to have gotten to try it!
  10. jenrandom

    Cold Moon

This is a lovely pale aquatic on me. As someone else mentioned, it's hard to pin down. Sometimes I think 'jasmine!' then... 'citris?' then... 'fuzzy! must be jasmine!' It's occasionally sweet, too. All in all, I really like it.
  11. jenrandom

Spirit of the Komachi Cherry Tree

This is a lovely floral. The pear and lilac seem to be the predominent notes that come forward after drying down. I'm really enjoying this scent, and will probably be getting a bottle of it next order.

Cleopatra Testing Poisons on Those Condemned to Death

On my skin, this is a light dusting of cocoa over yummy yummy resins. It sticks very close to my skin. Edit: I just figured out what this smells like to me... those Bearclaw pastries.
  13. jenrandom

    Lick It Again

On my skin, it's a delightful strong candy-caney mint. It fades quickly so that all I'm getting at noon is an occasional whiff of mint, with very little sugar.
  14. jenrandom

    Mr. Jacquel

Mr. Jacquel is a dry patchouli on application, then that mellows out and the amber comes out to play more on dry down. It keeps switching back and forth between dry and golden. Neat!
  15. jenrandom

    Bilquis

Bilquis is a bit almondy with an odd bitterness when wet on the skin. The bitterness fades on drydown, but it's still there, and now there's more honey peeking through. It's interesting, but not a favourite.
