    White Rabbit

I'm so sad! I wanted to like this so much, and I've seen so many nice things written about it, but it just did not work on me. I got the creaminess, and the tea-ness, but underneath it all? BANDAIDS. Yes, it smelled like bandages on me. Creamy, sweet, tea-tinged bandages. And the scent only got stronger as it dried. I guess that's the linen. Ha. Oh well.

    Stardust

Oh, I love Stardust! It's like bottled sparkly, hazy nostalgia. I sniffed it in the bottle, and immediately got a 70's perfume feel--I couldn't place it--though "Charlie" (as mentioned by someone before)--might be it. I didn't get the hairspray scent other people have mentioned; instead, it was a sort of sharp floral tang (I'm not sure which notes are what, or how to distinguish such things right now. I'm trying to learn! *g*). It was absolutely perfumey, but without that alcohol burn, you know? I had to wear this for New Year's Eve, of course. It lasted all day and on till breakfast, but wasn't overpowering at all. Dry, it takes on a sexy warmth and the initial prettiness of the floral is cut by a slight... um, bitterness? Perhaps that's the champagne... When I was a kid in the 70's, there was a boy who lived up the street who embodied everything that was cool then. The bitchin' car, the tight flares, the state-of-the-art hi-fi system, and the hot girlfriend. She was super thin (probably for very unhealthy reasons, I realize now *g*), tall, and had long, blonde perfectly feathered Farrah-hair. She wore jeans so tight she had to lie down and pull them up with pliers. She taught us little kids how to do the Hustle and the Bump one day while she was waiting for her boyfriend. She epitomized what a grown-up, beautiful woman was (in my wee mind), with her glossy lips, cocaine-thin body, and her glamourous, club-hopping lifestyle. Stardust is the scent of my memories of her.

    Glasgow

This is so pretty. It's blackberries just beginning to ripen, with a soft, grassy undertone. It almost feels too pretty and girlish for me!

    Three Witches

Wow, this was cinnamony right out of the bottle. Sort of like red hots candy, or cinnamon altoids. I should've waited till after breakfast to put it on, because it made everything I ate or drank taste like cinnamon--even my orange juice! The cinnamon mellowed after a while, into a smooth, almost creamy scent that reminds me of gingerbread cookies and hot cocoa, but with a peppery hint under everything. I'll wear this when I want to project warmth and comfort, or just when the gray, cold Northwest days start to get to me.

    Dorian

First impression is citrus--lemon, or maybe bergamot--that softens into a light tang over sweet vanilla. A very pretty, lightly seductive scent, and one I'll wear often. Also the cause of my first bpal conversion! My sister asked what I was wearing, and I gave her the card that came with my order. Woo!

    Embalming Fluid

Starts out as clean, sweet lemon that mellows into a green, fresh airy scent. I really liked this one--it's a great daytime scent, and it perked me up just having it on.

    Snake Oil

I got this in an imp pack today and I put it on first thing, because I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Oh, boy, is it delicious. Vanilla is definitely the main scent that comes through for me, tempered with some amazing warm spicyness. I've been sniffing my wrists all day--I can't believe how good I smell! Ha. If it smells this good on everyone, no wonder it's so popular. I'll be buying a bottle.

    Pain

In the bottle, this smelled a little bit like toothpaste, so I put off trying it right away. When I put it on, my initial impression was of minty licorice--it felt like I could actually taste it on the back of my tongue. After an hour or so, the scent had virtually disappeared. I can smell a light whiff of cool lavender if I press my nose to my wrist, but the sharp, strong scent is gone. It's clean and cold but with a lingering softness. Not an everyday scent for me, but I might put it on for an early Spring stroll.

    Thanatos

This is my second ever BPAL try, and while it didn't grab me with that "Oh Jeebus I love this" feeling I got almost right away from Yog-Sothoth, it has grown on me tremendously. Sandalwood is definitely the primary scent on my wrists, but it's not an overpowering incensey sandalwood. It's a warm, soft sandalwood with just a tiny hint of pretty roses. Thumbs up!

    Yog-Sothoth

This is my very first exposure to a BPAL scent, and I love it. It definitely had an odd... grandma's eau de toilette air when I first put it on, but after a little while it turned into this lovely warm, daydreamy sweetness. I can't stop smelling my wrists.
