    Tabula Smaragdina

This smells like a delicious musk incense I used to burn as a teenager, something I can no longer do due to asthma. It must have had a bigger floral component than I was aware of at the time, if the two scents are close. I am jumping up and down inside because I bought a bottle unsniffed from a fellow forumite, and now I know I will love it! Incense is one of my favorite scent components, and I get all excited when one of Beth's incense blends melds with my chemistry. Madame Moriarty is my favorite so far, but can you really have too many incense scents?

    The Ifrit

I love this - it's warm, nutty, dry, resinous and sweet all at once. I don't detect the pepper, tobacco or ginger overtly but I'm sure they are adding their magic to the blend. What I do detect is the red musk and the cinnamon in a soft and sexy blend. Very long lasting without being overwhelming, and like War, so unique I doubt I will smell it on anyone else.

    Pepper

I love the blend of flowers and spices of this scent, unfortunately one note or combination of notes came up as rotten eggs on me. I wish there was some way to extract it, so I could enjoy the rest of this beautiful scent!

    Agrat-Bat-Mahlaht

Delicious, creamy decadence, may I even say sinful?

    Marianne

i don't know what magic it is, but my skin takes Marianne and turns it into the most beautiful scent, second only to Gypsy Queen as my favorite. They share some notes in common, too, and have a similar feel. I love the floral-bergamot top notes giving over to smoky patchouli and red musk.

    Aeronwen

It took me a week to grab a decant of Aeronwen before someone else got to it first. It did raise my expectations. Initially, there was a musty smell in the bottle, which disappeared on my skin. After an quick whiff of something green mixed with apple (probably the fig), this scent became extremely sweet and cloying. I did not experience this with Cupid Complaining to Venus, but I'm not sure which notes were doing this. Too sweet to keep on; it gave me a headache. At least I still have Marianne as my Grindhouse sweetie.

    Ashlultum

A beautiful soapy lilac that starts off light and ethereal and deepens as tonka bean and the darker notes come out. Exquisite!

    Dionysia

Dionysia has some of the same notes as my favorite CD, and like Madame Moriarty, I think she will benefit from some aging to allow the patchouli and fruits to blend smoothly. I look forward to it!

    Lady Luck Blues

I absolutely love rose, and this is a sweet one blended with other flowers and some plum for depth. Gorgeous! ah - and the honey is coming out now, it's all good!

    Screeching Parrot

I get sweet rich guava juice from this one, which I did drink when I lived in Hawaii. A nice memory but I'm not sure I want to smell like it.

    Tiki Queen

This is a beautiful soft tropical floral blend; I love it! Too bad I joined a decant circle at the end of Atomic Luau Lounge's Run, and missed being able to order it. Beth, you have to extend the run if you know it takes a month just to ship! Some of us are slower to make up our minds (especially with a $27+ price tag). The mosquitos like this one, too, as one sacrificed itself to get closer to this sweet blend, so don't wear at dawn or dusk outside. I suppose I'll be able to acquire a bottle in the next year or two somehow. *sigh*

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

Cute gourmand scent, not really my thing but I absolutely love the artwork for this one!

    51

Love this scent! 51 started off as a green apple-lime-green mango scent on a woodsy/musky base, a few minutes later I could smell some of the guava and salt. The notes really blend well together here, it smells like an expensive scent on me. This is what I wanted Tweedledum to be: tart, sophisticated and not tutti-fruity.

    Kiyohime Changes From a Serpent

At first dab out of the imp, this scent teased me with a delicious and surprising blend of moss and plum. This fleeting moment is quickly replaced with sweet soap, and then thirty minutes later all traces of any scent are gone. I wish the plum and seaweed notes would dominate on my skin. I guess I'll have to stick to Madame Moriarty for Plum and Caliban for ocean saltiness.

    The Sailor's Den

This started out very pleasant, I think I got a bit of wood and soft orris, possibly a hint of coconut. I could be on a ship in a sun-drenched ocean. Then something sweet and overpowering kicked in, and it wouldn't stop. Was it the lilac? I'm not sure, but it spoiled Sailor's Den for me.
