Ohhh I love this. This is a fast personal favorite, so I might as well review it. In the imp: I'm not really sure about this... bitter and spice rack. Wet on ARM* skin: Wait... wait, what is that? That's amazing. o_o How did it transform? (insert arm huffing here) Drydown: Clove and cinnamon layered over a deep tea note and sweet tobacco. To me this isn't a dry scent but it's a sharp sweet one, the sort of thing that's mouth watering without being at all foody. Dry: Nomnomnom. More of the same. Does last strongly only for about 4 hours but I'd reapply, definitely. It's definitely an example of something that I'm not fond of until it hits my skin, and then it blooms and loses all of the bitterness it had. It's not sweet like sugar, more like natural tea and tobacco sweetness, and it definitely reminds me of really good chai without the milk. *I noticed with this oil that it just doesn't smell as good on my wrists as it smells everywhere else. But the crook of my elbow, back of my hand, neck, chest... awesome.

Okay! So, I love ash trees, and bright green sweet scents, so I was curious to try this. (Bpal makes so many myth-inspired scents that it will be the death of my wallet, I swear. I like that thing! I want to smell like that thing that I love the stories of! oy vey) Wet in the imp: Oh dear, this may be another "light" smell that fails horribly on me and gives me headaches. I don't know what it is about light colored oils, but they tend to amp flowers on me and then give me migraines. I'll try it anyway. Wet on my skin: I already like this better but there's a sharpness that I'm unsure about. Already though I can tell this is better than all those other light scents. I've been searching for a spring-summer "day" scent and I may have found it. Drydown: Less flowers, more smoky sweet and sap and green. I'm really liking this - I could see how other posters found it to be "androgynous" but I don't get masculine from this at all. Dry: Smokey honey sap green yesplease and thank you. I'll be ordering a bottle of this soon. ... oh dear.

I was absolutely determined to love this, no matter what it smelled like, because I had a dream about wearing it before I ever got a whiff. Now, I'm not one for florals and my skin tends to amp amber so my hope was that the amber would be the boldest note along with the myrtle the carnation just a slight spicy backdrop. In bottle: Floral, spicy. I can't really smell the amber very well. Wet on skin: OH HELLO CARNATION. I can't smell anything else, and my dismay is growing - though if I wanted to smell like a flower, this is definitely a perfect carnation smell. I can practically feel and taste the flower laying on my skin. Drydown: Still carnation-y, with a bit of warmth from the amber coming in on the background. This is giving me hope - if the carnation eases back just a bit more, I will love this. Still can't really smell the myrtle or apople blossom Dry on skin: Well, the carnation has eased back a little. I'm not convinced its enough, though I can smell the amber now - I just wish there was more amber scent. I'm also smelling what I think might be the apple blossom now. Conclusion: It's a really lovely scent, and it may be one of the only two exceptions I've found to the "not a fan of florals" rule, the other one being Wolf's Heart. The amber keeps coming through more - if that continues, I'll probably get a bottle of this.
