    Switch Witch Extra Questions!

Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? Nope, I've only even been to deviantart's site maybe twice. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? Never looked at their stuff. I'm trying to stick to mostly BPAL as far as scents go. What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I wouldn't mind them, in fact I looked at Goodwill for some new pairs the other day. I'm usually a size 7 and love cute high heels (cause I'm short!) but probably actually need some kind of slip-ons for taking the dogs out. I'll look for some though, don't feel like you have to give me shoes! Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? I adore coloring books. I have the Crayola 64 pack of crayons with the sharpener on the back, and coloring is seriously such a stress reliever. Especially when I make things the "wrong" color. Hee hee! Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? LOVE garlic. Garlic + savory stuff would more than likely be delicious. Garlic + sweet stuff...not too sure about that. Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? I like zombie stuff but the husband is the true zombie freak around here. If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? Nah. Never looked at their stuff either. How many bottles of BPAL do you have? Not many. Maybe a dozen or so. That will go up by a few once I finally get my latest couple of orders in though. Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I had started a program that included both cardio and sculpting but I slacked off once I found out I was pregnant. Kinda scared to do anything now. If you know of anything that's good for expectant chicks, I'd be glad to take a look! Anyone else into Emily Autumn? I will admit, I don't know who/what this is. What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. A couple of crappy paintings that I made, plus movie posters and of course, Dogs Playing Poker. Husband insists that last one is classy. do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind? Thin Mints, I could eat a bajillion boxes of those. What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? Never tried it, but I'm game for anything that has "butter" in the title. Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I like some Young Adult fantasy (I've been re-reading the Artemis Fowl series lately) and the Song of Ice and Fire series from G.R.R. Martin. That's about all I can think of that I've really gotten into, but I'm always open to new recommendations! Love books! Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I adore Paintbox Soapworks and just ordered a few soaps from there. I really need to get more of her sorbetto scrubs because I only have one and I'm rationing it. I would like to try Villainess at some point as well. I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I really only use pens at my computer for jotting things down, so probably not. For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I don't know the first thing about yarn or its accessories. Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? No, thank you. Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I have an adorable handmade burner that I've used maybe twice. We're not big incense people. Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? Can't think of anything. Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? My hair's pretty short right now. I use headbands and occasionally a clip or two to hold the sides back, but that's it. Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Nope! Maybe small-dog-safe, but otherwise anything goes. In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? I could use some kind of hand warmers or fingerless gloves. My hands freeze when I'm at my computer. How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? I like a lot of them and would be happy to receive them. Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? Nope. What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) To live: totally beach. I wish I lived close enough to hear the ocean and smell the salt air. To visit: anyplace that isn't freezing cold. What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? I'd like to learn how to make jewelry and wish I had a small sewing machine to make a few purses/bags. Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Nada. Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? Well my fabulous Witch sent me a half-decant of Dungeon Crawl, which was my big wish. I wouldn't mind sniffing The Elephantine Colossus, maybe, but then I love sweet stuff. Anyone need address/phone type books? No, but I do want some kind of little calendar so I can keep track of things going on around here. Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? I've recently discovered that we don't own a copy of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. This must be remedied. For anything else, it should be on my amazon wishlist. Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? Negative. Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) This would be hilarious. Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? I've never tried them but now I really want to! Anne Taintor, anyone? Haha! Sure! Which web comics do you enjoy? Questionable Content, Least I Could Do, Looking For Group, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, AmazingSuperPowers, Toothpaste For Dinner. I read those every day, or whenever they are updated. If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? I guess skinny and short but I'm really not much of a scarf wearer. Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? Nah. I'm in northern California, it's never cold enough to need that kind of thing. How do you feel about recipes? GIMME! What kind of a cook/baker are you? Better at baking than cooking, but I enjoy both and almost always produce something edible. If I didn't cook, we'd be stuck eating microwave meals or pizza rolls/chicken nuggets/frozen pizza every night. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? Somewhere in between. I don't have the skills to do the fabulous gourmet stuff, but my food tastes good and is usually all ready at the same time. Depends what I'm in the mood for too...sometimes I feel like I'm so hungry that only something I can make in the next 2 minutes will do. If I send you something home made would you like the recipe for it? YES! I love recipes! If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? I will take either the instructions or the final product, or both. Mmm, baked goods. How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? Sure, I'll try them. if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? ...you probably know this answer to this one by now. How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? I do love stickers of all kinds, but as for other knick-knacks, probably not. Maybe one or two. Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? Lots! See Amazon wishlist! Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive mangas or anything related to them? I don't read or watch any, so no thank you. Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Absolutely! The wishlists I have are really more of a guideline than anything else. If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? Sure! I have no crafting skills of my own, but do greatly appreciate when others share their handmade stuff with me. OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? I usually wear crew length, but also like ankle socks if I've actually bothered to shave my legs (I tend to be lazy and just wear pants all the time). But for hanging around the house, anything soft and cute will do, in any material or pattern because I TRUST YOU <3 Chocolate or other types of candy? Milk & white chocs are good, not so much dark (unless it's with something fruity like orange or raspberry...I adore those Terry's chocolate oranges that break into slices). Fruity candy though? Will be gobbled. And caramels are yum x infinity- I've actually been wanting to try some salted caramels ever since I heard of them. For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? Not a tea drinker. Give me soda or give me...well, okay, not death, but I do drink a lot of Diet Dr Pepper and ginger ale. If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? I don't really wear shawls or scarves, especially now that we're in NorCal where winter is defined as "It's about 20 degrees cooler than usual and it's raining" instead of, you know, actually getting cold. I also don't like toboggan/toque style knitted hats because they make my head itchy (exception: Jayne's hat from Firefly. You know the one. I would wear that so hard). Not sure what that leaves me with. Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? I think maybe I'm a little Bridget Jones (without the love triangle), a little Stephanie Plum (without the danger), probably equal parts Marge Simpson and Lois Griffin since DH is about half-and-half Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin. Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, ect? I probably don't *need* anything, but I'd like a good sifter or micro-plane someday. Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? I'd rather have uncensored versions, but I'm not a fan of live stuff, honestly. I get used to the way a song sounds on the radio or in the studio version and it bothers me that it's always a little different on live versions. If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? LOVE dogs. So much. Especially smaller breeds. I have a pug/chihuahua mix (we think, she was a stray so not sure) and a dachshund/chihuahua mix and they are ridiculously hilarious. I also had two chis when I lived with my parents. So yeah, big fan of the smaller dogs. Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? I like roses the best, but I really prefer them in non-standard colors like peach or yellow or anything that isn't red. Still like the red ones, but they just aren't my favorite. Do you have a favorite quotation? Song lyric? Book passage? WhateverthehecktheycalltheanonymousregionalwisdomthingiePROVERB! that word. Lately I've been digging a lyric from a Hawksley Workman song that says "The darkness defines where the light is," which I interpret as kind of a new spin on how the crappy things in life make you appreciate the good things that much more. What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) Honestly, probably Boomslang. I just want to test it to see if it's as awesome as I think it would be (love Snake Oil, love chocolate) or if it doesn't work for me. Don't want to have to buy a whole bottle to find out, though. Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have some children/spawn (1 or more), and, hypothetically speaking, your witch would like to spoil them a little but knows nothing of kids these days. What do they like or dislike? Also is there anything a (sane) adult might think they would like that you don't think is appropriate for whatever reason? (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) No kids yet, got one on the way due in mid-May but I've had a previous loss, so it's one day at a time right now. Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that Any amusing videos you find would definitely entertain me, otherwise I'm always up for pdf books. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) A sliced BBQ sandwich w/slaw from a hometown place called R.O.'s, a medium-rare filet mignon cooked by Gordon Ramsay (what?! I'm dying, right? I can totally ask for this!), and a huge creme brulee with a side slice of tiramisu. For drinks, I'd hire the bartenders from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship because their mixed drinks remain the best I have ever had. NaNoWriMo? Nah, I keep starting stories and not following through. Doubt I could fill a whole novel anyway. what interests you from the latest lab update? Dawn: Cernunnos (it's the only one without roses, which I love but amp to the point of not being able to smell anything else in the oil) and I still need to grab Mabon before it comes down. Wildfire intrigues me but I dunno if it would really be my kind of thing. How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? Don't use it. Would you like homemade preserves (e.g. marinated vegies, pickled onions, chilli jam?) Fruity preserves are good, everything else is a no thanks. If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? Absolutely! Most of the stuff on my WL is what I haven't tried yet so partials would be fab! Would you like something you have to make yourself? Maybe, if it comes with good instructions. I don't have any craft-type skills though. Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? If you'd rather make something, go for it! Whichever you would prefer to do. Who is your favorite soap etailer? I adore Paintbox Soapworks, but I've been meaning to try both Villainess and Lush, since I had never heard of either before joining the forums. What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? Can't think of anything in these categories that I'd go for. With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I kind of lean more toward getting small things throughout the round just because I love getting mail, but I could work on being patient (I'm not, at all) if my Witch is saving up for something awesome at the end. What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I like eyeshadow, I just need lessons for how to do it correctly. Colors- anything that would make the green in my eyes stand out more. Nothing comes to mind as far as wanting to try any particular make-up. Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with ) DH fully understands that should Gerard Butler, Gordon Ramsay, or Hugh Jackman ever be overcome with lust for me, I won't have the heart to deny them. Do you crave many Ecards and contact or are you okay with little contact from your Witch? I like contact, but I'm very understanding that people have real actual lives going on and can't spend hours sending me ecards and such. So, I like it but I don't necessarily NEED it. If that makes sense. Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? Just a little notebook sitting here at my computer. I can probably transfer those to an online format, if you'd like. Do you like maple sugar candy? No maple anything, please. Maple belongs in syrup and nothing else. It probably doesn't help that I always used to grab what I thought were chocolate iced donuts only to bite in and discover they were maple. What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? Never tried it, but wouldn't turn it down. If nothing else, my husband would be all over it. If you are a tea-drinker do you need a tea-cozie for your pot? Still not a tea drinker. Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? I was going to say salt and pepper but since those are boring and not actually in my spice cabinet...oregano, garlic powder, and basil. Unless I'm baking, in which case it's cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. I really like spices. Microsoft or Apple? PC in the house! Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Last vacation was on the other side of the country visiting family (they live on the east coast, we live on the west for now). I loved being able to see everyone again and just hang out the people I love. Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? That would be cool! Sending- well, I already sent my witchee a card in the mail with my real name and address so I just hope she doesn't sleuth too hard and find me. Do you hate any food things with a passion?? Greens (as in collard or mustard, etc), pinto beans, iced tea. All staples in the South, where I was born and raised, all things I think are totally gross. Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I wouldn't mid it a bit, but I'd have no idea which magazine to get. Reader's Digest is about the only thing I really read consistently, and we already get that in the mail every month. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to last.fm immediately and create an account! Download the scrobbler! Link us to your account! If you reject this assignment, maybe just tell us what your mp3 player says you listen to a lot? I have almost all of Hawksley Workman's songs, and they're all so different that I could listen to nothing but that for hours. I also have a lot of random stuff: Savage Garden, Phantom of the Opera, some Weird Al, Brad Paisley, Fountains of Wayne, Journey, a little Justin Timberlake, some classical, lots of 80s stuff, and of course, New Kids on the Block. Any countries you're interested in? So many. Greece, Rome, just about all the countries in Europe, Australia...I have the soul of a traveler but the wallet of a pauper. Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? YES. I was thinking about doing something like this for my Witchee actually, so I am so up for receiving some! If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? Honestly...yes. It's enough to know that my witch tried to make something just for me. It doesn't have to be perfect (or even close!) Are you a foodie? As in, actual food? I love watching Food Network and Masterchef and Hell's Kitchen, but I haven't had the chance to try to cook or eat the level of food featured there. I'd love to try some though! As in, BPAL or other smellies? OHGODYES. I love the stuff that smells like food, the sweeter the better. Cake truffles? If YES! Cake/icing/chocolate type? I'd like to try some, never had them before. I'm partial to white or yellow cake with real buttercream icing but chocolate is yummy too (not a dark choc fan though). are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products? I am always cool with sample sizes of anything! That way I can try new stuff without the expense of full-size. Vampire shows, literature, etc? Yay or nay? I don't watch any vamp shows, and the only vamp books I've read are Twilight. Did not like those, and still don't know why they are so crazy popular. I would like to read Beth's Vampire book, though. If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? We pretty much have everything except: Wii, Xbox, PS3. I think we're good on games though, and spend most of our time at our computers anyway. How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? Flowers and plants are beautiful but it'd have to be potted stuff where I am. And something easy to take care of. Drawings/pressed flowers- don't know what I'd do with them, but I can find out if that's your thing! How do you feel about marzipan? Never had it, but wouldn't be opposed to trying it. If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? Snow, Glass, Apples (HAHAHAHA riiiiight); Boomslang; Blue Pumpkin Floss (I have a decant coming but I want it NAO) Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? Mmm, Violet Crumble. Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? Uh, only everything except Bogle because it has the hated vetiver. If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) I don't craft. Wish I did, but I has no skillz. Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? "Dies Irae" by Verdi; "Bright Shining Lie" by Zero 1; "Alcohol" by Brad Paisley; "Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5; "Beside You" by Tal Bachman Soundtracks you'd like? I think I've got all the ones I really wanted. If you could see one concert right now, who would it be? Embarrassingly, probably Brad Paisley. Yes, it's country, but he's such a cutie and I love his stories with the songs. Would you like a bag of dried Honeycrisp apples? Dried fruit of any kind sounds delicious! If you were to receive a knitted item (such as a scarf, hat, etc), what colors would you like? And do you have any sensitivies/allergies to any materials? No allergies or sensitivities, and I think the color would depend on what it was. I doubt there's any color I wouldn't wear! Gift Certificate: physical or email? Either. Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents? Nothing comes to mind, sorry! I haven't been to YC in a long time. Whatever I like in perfume, I'd like in a candle. would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal? No, thank you. And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes? http://www.etsy.com/...=cat1_gallery_8 Funny, but I doubt I'd have anywhere appropriate for them! What places to do you visit that you'd like a gift card to? Starbucks, Target, Wal-Mart, B&N, a favorite restaurant or clothing shop? Anywhere. A gift card is an excuse to shop! Cake or Frosting? If it's buttercream, frosting all the way. I always grab the corner pieces for that reason. What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child? My parents were pretty active about keeping non-age-appropriate stuff away, and I don't remember being scared of any "kid" movies...I did see "Single White Female" for the first time with my first college roommate though- does that count? Name a couple of sites you frequent other than this one Oh, lord. Uh, several webcomics (Saturday Morning Breakfast Cartoons, Least I Could Do, Questionable Content, Looking For Group, AmazingSuperPowers, Toothpaste For Dinner) plus Cake Wrecks, Hyperbole and a Half, and Fark.com when I remember it. Do you like the Muppets? Which is your favorite? LOVE the Muppets! My favorite is a recent-ish addition, Pepe the King Prawn. If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be? Either a Tribble or the tiny giraffe from this commercial. Comfort Rereads? I will reread anything I like the first time around, but my favorites are the first romance novel I ever read ("Prisoner of My Desire" by Johanna Lindsey) and the Song of Ice and Fire series by G.R.R. Martin. Will you be going out of town during the round, or is there any other time during the round when it would not be ideal for you to receive a package from your witch? As far as I know, no going out of town and no blackout dates for receiving things. If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Not currently in school. Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) I'd love to take some basic culinary classes. I can cook to the satisfaction of myself and my husband, but I would love to improve and really work on basic skills and putting meals together in a creative way. Then again, I'd also love to take some Criminal Justice classes and work in some CSI-related field. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you? I really like peacock feathers and roses, but I don't know that they're really imbued with any specific meaning for me. I think 4-leaf clovers are the closest to a personal symbol for me. Do you need a box for your bpal bottles? Your imps? Your something else to put in a box stuff? I have a pretty bottle box that I painted and I have ammo boxes for my imps, so I think I'm set there. I could possibly use an imp travel case though. If you could be any person, being, or animal from Fantasy what or who would you be? Not exactly fantasy, but it would be fun to be a cartoon character so I could do all sorts of crazy things and never really get hurt. If you could go back to any point in time, where, when, why? Ancient Greece, around the 400s BC. I am obsessed with anything from ancient Greece and would love to be surrounded by people speaking the language I studied hard to learn, seeing the art as it was created, and would be delighted to sit and watch the Parthenon as it was constructed, to see it in all its glory. Favorite Halloween Candy/Treat? Those mallowcream pumpkin things that are supposedly made from the same stuff that candy corn is made from, but I swear the pumpkins taste different. I do also like candy corn and tootsie rolls (chocolate or other flavors). What are your favorite baked goods/homemade treats? I love homemade bread because I don't know how to make it, especially sweet stuff like pumpkin or banana bread. I am also a big chocolate chip cookie freak, though other cookie flavors are always welcome. Would you be interested in an astrology birth chart? Maybe. Never had one before. Socks? Sock Dreams? Anyone? I love socks! My husband keeps the house about 10 degrees cooler than I would prefer, so I always have socks on. What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain? I have a small pillow that I've had since I was about 6, it's so old that it has no pillowcase anymore and the stuffing has separated into blobs, but I sleep with it every night and need it when I don't feel well. Favorite Halloween/Scary movies/books For books, I still like the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" series that's really for kids. Movies, I kinda like watching campy stuff for Halloween, like "Army of Darkness" or "Chopper Chicks in Zombietown" or "Slither" but for scares, anything suspenseful works. Blood and gore don't scare me, they're just gross. I prefer sudden things on screen or in the soundtrack that make me gasp or scream. What would the name of your custom blend be? The description? I think I answered this in the questionnaire, but mine would be called "toothache" and have all kinds of sweet, foodie, fruity stuff in it. COMIC BOOKS. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? I don't currently read any comic books, but my husband does. He's trying to get me into a series called "Fables" at the moment. Warm drinks? I like hot chocolate and cider, and might be willing to try a few other things, but I don't drink tea at all. When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? Not picky! I put a bunch of new stuff on my etsy wishlist, but everything there is just stuff I like the look of. Something similar or even using the same color scheme, etc. would be perfectly fine! It's just full of pretty things I like the look of, it's not a list of demands, I promise! Do you wear make up? Occasionally. I have a confession though: I never learned how to put on makeup. I do okay with eyeshadow (but I don't know how to blend or do a "smoky look" or anything) and I can do foundation if I luck out and pick the right color. I like lipstains instead of sticks or gloss because I tend to bite/chew my lips. But I never learned how to put on eyeliner or create a specific look for myself. I'm happy to play with makeup, I just never think I'm doing it right. Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? I like them, especially Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Finding Nemo, UP...ok, most Disney movies. Don't care for musicals though. Do you have A VCR, DVD Player or Blue Ray or a combo of the three? I have a VCR and a DVD player. No Blu-Ray. Would you like custom icons as a gift? That would be cool. No idea how to make them on my own! What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time? Lay's Tangy Carolina BBQ chips, and recently salted pita chips with roasted garlic hummus. Also, tomatoes, especially on-the-vine or homegrown. I could eat tomatoes all day, every day. Ebooks? I don't have a reader but I do have Adobe so I could read stuff that way. Nail Polish: I'm a chronic nail biter. I'm trying to grow some nails right now but I don't know how long they'll last. Nail polish is fun and pretty, but might go to waste on me. Soft/plushy things: I want to say yes but I don't know where I'd put them and anything small would likely be stolen by my spoiled dogs. What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? I want to learn to crochet. I used to know, a little, but stopped practicing and have forgotten everything except how to make a single row. I would also really like to learn how to make jewelry, but I am completely ignorant about that process. For those who decorate for Halloween, do you prefer cute decorations or creepy ones?: I prefer a mix of the two. Also, as part of the cute-or-creepy question, would you want hand made, molded, glazed ceramic decorations (napkin rings, potporri/tart warmers, etc) to add to your stock? That would be fun, but I'm afraid something like napkin rings would get no use here. how do you feel about mortars and pestles They might just give me an excuse to buy or grow fresh herbs finally! Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package? Nothing. I grew up with a paramedic dad who discussed calls he went on at the dinner table. I am hard to gross out. Don't send me any live bugs or snakes and we'll be fine! Are you into Austen's books? I feel like I should turn in my "woman card" for saying so, but I've never read one. I've seen movies based on them, and I've read both "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" and "Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters" but never the original books. Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? I don't and wouldn't. So for those of you who are into Harry Potter at all, which house do you think you'd be sorted into? According to a sorting test I just took, Gryffindor. But it was pretty evenly spread among all 4. What, if anything, is your guilty TV watching pleasure? Murder: She Wrote. I'm only 30 but I feel about 60 when I watch it, and my husband makes fun of me. I don't care, I still like it! If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? I don't have any hobbies which would require a costume. I'm really very boring. Celebrity crush?: Tie between Gerard Butler and Gordon Ramsay. Knitted things?: Since I can't knit and I'm in awe of those who can, I'd be happy to receive anything knitted! What about [mixed or otherwise] DVDs? Sure! DVDs: Do you prefer widescreen or formatted? Widescreen. Music: Any preference towards MP3 or CD? Either is fine. Do you like scented tarts? Yes, but I really need a tart warmer. Lip balms? I like them, they just don't stay on long because of my compulsion for lip chewing. Do you have any body mods? If so, do you need any new jewelry, o-rings, plugs, etc (and if so, what size, length, etc)? Do you like pro-body mod stickers? I used to have a tongue ring but anymore I just have a few tattoos and no unusual piercings. Probably wouldn't want stickers of this sort. Booze. Do you drink it, would you like some? I wish I could! I'm normally a fruity, don't-want-to-taste-the-alcohol girl (except I also love buttery nipple drinks), but can't have alcohol for the next year or so. What is your favorite artist or art style? (including if you have links to favorite pictures/paintings/photographs) Amadeo Modigliani is my favorite, but I also like anything from ancient Greece (plates, amphorae, pictures of stuff, anything!). Hallowe'en plans? Will be either going to someone's party or having one at my house. Around here, no one makes plans until a week or two before. I really want to dress up as Jem this year. Mix CDs? This would be a neat idea, I like lots of different music and would be happy to hear new stuff! Girlyness level? I'd classify myself as lazy-girly. I like the idea of dressing up and doing my hair just right and wearing stunning makeup, but I rarely do it. Love pink and purple and sparkly things though! Baked Goods? I adore baked goods. I'm not really a chocoholic, though I will certainly gobble it down should my witch choose to gift me with some! Truthfully, I'm more of a butterscotch girl. Family Prezzies? Totally not necessary but Mr. Lysi would probably giggle like a schoolgirl if he got anything. I'd share anything baked with him anyway! I have 2 small doggies as well and if my witch wants to get them anything, they'd love it, but again, totally not necessary. Not like they know what SW is! Bottles/lots of little samples? I'd be happy with either, but I'm leaning more toward samples since I've only tried about 100 BPALs so far and nothing from other companies (except B&BW). Social Networking Just Facebook, which my profile is linked to. I always have it open in a tab and will accept any and all friend requests so long as you let me know you're from BPAL. Groupons or similar deals/gift certificates? I've never tried groupons and I'm not really sure if they'd have anything for my immediate area, but I could possibly use some for Sacramento or Roseville if they exist. Any other gift certs, I'm happy to receive whatever my witch desires to give! T-Shirt/PJ size For girly-cut Ts, usually XL because I can't stand tight shirts around my belly. If it's a regular/guy cut T, either M or L as long as it'll fit a 38" chest (if it's a little big, it shall become a sleep shirt...I sleep in big Ts and pj bottoms). PJ size, I usually only wear the bottoms but I lurve pj pants! L is a good size for those. Also, I forgot to mention this on my ?aire but I love peacock feathers! Anytime I see them I squee inside, they are so very pretty. Also also, anything Firefly/Serenity related. I'm sure I'll think of more fascinating things about myself later, and I'll add to this when I do. Okay, I've thought of something: I think on my questionnaire I sounded less than enthusiastic about jewelry, but I've noticed myself "favoriting" a lot of earrings and bracelets on etsy. So it looks like I'm a jewelry girl after all! If that's my witch's thing, I'd be more than happy to get earrings or bracelets (though my wrist is kinda small so 7" is just about perfect without falling off), or even necklaces if they aren't super long. Just thought I'd add this info that I didn't realize when I answered the original questions!

    Black Lace

The embodiment of Victorian funereal elegance. A delicate sugar-spun vanilla cream cotton, stained by tobacco and incense smoke, Indian musk, and drops of cognac. Just got my bottle from DD today. I figured that I had heard about this scent enough times on the forum that I could risk buying it unsniffed, and it does have several notes that are great on me. Impressions: In the bottle: Something STRONG is attacking my nose...it smells really sharp, boozy to the point of crossing over into medicinal. I'm gonna take a stab and say it's the cognac. Wet: Exactly the same, if anything the medicinal/boozy note amps for the first 10-15 minutes. Dry: Booziness calms down some and I get a little more vanilla now, but the cognac is still predominant and not playing nicely with my skin. This smells very much like the Vanilla CT I got (and recently sold), so I guess at least now I know there was cognac alongside the vanilla there and that I should stay away from it from now on. I'll see if it morphs any more later today but for now I'm thinking this one is probably going to end up on my sales page as well. Boo.

    Thirteen (13): August 2010

In the bottle and wet on my skin, this smelled exactly like a chocolate-covered cherry without the cherry. It's got to be the chocolate/honey mix that's doing that. I adore sweet, foody scents so this is deliciousness to me! Dry, the chocolate goes just a bit powdery to me and turns into Chocolate Necco Wafer! I wish this lasted longer because it smells wonderful, but then again I only tested about a drop just in case. I happily give this one a 5/5 and plan to do a much more slathery test later! My first 13 is a smashing success!

    Belladonna

In the imp: Wow, this is really green! And I don't mean the color of the oil although it is a beautiful pale green. I mean, this is one of the few times an oil has actually smelled like a color to me. No florals that I can detect. Wet: Pine-Sol! Undiluted, chemical, straight from the bottle Pine-Sol. Still no floral anything. Dry: Pine needles. The chemically smell is gone, but pine is still all I get. This would smell lovely in a candle around Christmas time, but it's not a hit on my skin.

    Juke Joint

A bawdy, gleefully wicked and unruly scent: Kentucky Bourbon, sugar and a sprig of mint. In the imp, I got mostly mint and just a hint that there might be some alcohol hiding somewhere. Wet, FRESH MINT AHOY! If it stayed exactly like this, I would be happy to walk around wafting minty goodness everywhere I went! It's a good, really freshly muddled mint, not a Listerine kind of fake mint. Very nice. Dry: Sadness. The mint is completely gone and the scent has turned to a vaguely masculine powder. I tried it on DH and he had the same experience with lovely mint and then straight to powder. What a shame.

    Cockaigne

In the imp: Buttery and sweet Wet: Sugary, a tiny bit of honey Dry: OMG pralines! I smell like a praline! The sweet cakes smell brown-sugary and I never got a hint of wine or even milk. This is absolutely delicious, and I have to seriously refrain from licking my arm. Definite 5/5 for this foody lover!

    Depraved

Sadly, I never got apricot, not even sniffing it in the imp. On me, this scent smells like I have a mouthful of dirt. Old, rotting dirt. Swapping this one to someone who can (hopefully) do it justice!

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

My first thought when I sniffed my decant was "Apple!" and then "something sweet!" I adore sweet-smelling stuff so I swiped some on. On my skin, this is a sweet citrus scent...not quite orange bubble gum, but almost. No apple at all. It seems like there's a flowery something that keeps trying to peek through, but then it goes back to that sweet orangeness. It is light and bright and has minimal throw, but that's okay because I can totally see myself slathering this one. I have GOT to get a bottle of this!

    Common Jezebel

On me, all vetiver, all the time. Smelled nice and fruity in the imp, but no fruit came to the skin-test party. Too manly for me, too fruity for DH. Passing this one along.

    Dragon's Milk

I have no idea what dragon's blood is supposed to smell like, but it isn't showing up on me anyway! I'm getting straight honeyed vanilla and it is so so good! I can't stop huffing my wrist! May have to grab a bottle of this one!
  11. Lysi

    Absinthe

In the imp, this was, as others have said, medicinal and sharp, but it had a nice citrus tang to it. Wet on my skin, I only smelled licorice and nothing else. It has dried down to Irish Spring soap. It's nice, clean and fresh, but not as interesting as I had hoped. Glad I got to try it though!

    Tiki Princess

Wet it was all COCONUT! Dry, it turned into more of a COCONUT! and a little floral For me, this wasn't quite foody but it also wasn't quite suntan oil. I'd classify it somewhere in between. The perfect summer coconut scent! 9 hours after I first applied it, the coconut has faded away but the barely-there floral scent is still going! Love this one, and am so glad I got a bottle!

    O

Oh thank goodness it's not just me! Chocolate-covered cherries was the first thing I thought of and I haven't been able to get that out of my mind! It's not even the chocolate part, it's the sweet cherry and syrupy stuff inside the chocolate. That's totally what I'm getting from this! Don't get me wrong, I can totally pick out the actual notes and they are amazing blended together, but my brain won't stop with the candy! It's making me wish it were Christmas so I could go buy a box! I'm hoping this will calm down more, as several reviewers have attested to this being a long-lasting scent. If I can stop thinking I've opened a chocolate-covered cherry and wiped it all over my arm, I'll update this. I do like the minimal throw on this- it feels like a scent I could put on and happily wear on a plane or in another crowded, enclosed area and not worry about bothering anyone else with it.

    Wanda

This, to me, smelled like someone took Whip out drinking. As inexperienced as my poor little nose is, I could smell the wine, leather, and rose right away. Mmm, sophisticated leathery roses. I love the combo but wish it had lasted longer. The longer I wore it, the more it faded into just soft rose with no other notes coming out. I'll definitely try it again though!
  15. Lysi

    Muse

In the imp: Flowery and a teensy bit of lime. Wet: JASMINE! Might as well be a SN of the stuff, because I'm not getting anything else. Dry: My skin, the mighty Rose Amper, has beaten the jasmine into nothingness and laughed at my pleas for lotus and lime. It's all rose, all the time. Also, I was surprised to hear others say that this had such good throw on them. I have to physically touch my nose to my testing spot (back of my left hand where it meets the wrist) to smell anything. Even an inch away, I can barely tell anything's there. This probably means that Muse will sadly be another fast-fader on me.
