  1. I haven't tried many scents with amber in it, so I wouldn't be able to pick it out unless I had an SN of it. #6: Illustrated Woman! It smells almost exactly like Illustrated Woman (which is possibly my favorite BPAL other than Bake Sale v3), but with something a little sweeter attached to it. Like a fresh powdered doughnut got dunked in it. It's gorgeous! #360: It starts off as a very sweet, feminine-masculine scent (you know the kind of men's cologne that women don't mind wearing?) -- it strongly reminds me of Burberry Brit/Burberry Weekend, but as it dries down there's something spicy-sweet, cinnamon or maybe ginger? It's really nice and the throw is great! Edit: six hours later, 360 smells very much like just an SN bourbon vanilla. Om nom nom.

    Wilhelmina Murray

Let me say, I was terrified this would be horrible on me. Everything thus far with tea rose in it has ended up smelling sort of musty and given me a headache when put on (though I long for it whilst in a bottle!). This one was one I was afraid of, because I figured it would be amazing and it would end up making me feel dizzy. On the contrary! This is a winner! It's a very dignified scent. Very Mina-like, even! It's the epitome of a classy Victorian woman to me. I can't quite tell the scents, but I know I enjoy it. It has a little bit of a soapy smell on me after a while, amidst the light floral that I get.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

Decant: Heavy! I'm really getting the musk and patchouli. If I give it a loooooong sniff, I can smell vanilla, the plum is definitely there, too! On: Patchouli, patchouli, resin/incense-y! About 10-15 minutes: Sweeter, now! The patchouli is heading the the back, giving the musk a chance to come forth with the rest of the scent. 2+ hours later: The patchouli and musk are a thing of the past. It still is there, but a spicy plum with a bit of vanilla (or another creamy, sweet sort of scent?) is in the forefront. Didn't think I liked it enough to buy a bottle first try, but it's really begun to grow on me. I might just pick up a bottle (or partial) now!

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

Decant: Something sweet, light floral. Smells sort of like magnolia to me, laced with cotton candy! On: I still am not getting anything really orange, but the floral seems to fade a bit more and a sweet, whipped cream, white chocolate smell is coming out. It blends really well together. After an hour or so: I think I get the orangey, creamisicle smell that everyone's raving about now! There's still a tinge of floral to it, but it's really nice. Overall: do want more, please.

The Smilin' Servitors' Hyperdimensional Holiday Hits

First impression is YELLOW! It smells very fresh and clean and that lemon is coming through strong. It's a strange smell that kind of reminds me of someone just going :DDDDD and all. Like someone that's truly happy, just beaming away! It's totally like a greatest hits album from a pop band. If it had a smell, of course! Not too fond of how it comes out on my skin (kind of soap-y), but I'm hoping the second and third tests go a bit better, like it smelled in decant.

    The Black Temple Burlesque Troupe

I was really psyched for this one! In decant it was just warm and enveloping and even foggy. But it didn't come out too well when on my skin. It's overwhelmingly dark and heavy - kind of like you'd expect a group of exotic dancers, covered in a screen of smoke in Miskatonic Valley to smell like - like a group of priestesses moonlighting as a burlesque troop! I'm in love with it, but it's a bit heavy on me. I'm trying to perfect the art of not applying too much and I hope that putting on only the most minimal will change this.

Mother Shub's Spiced Lait de Chèvre

Everyone seems to be getting egg nog! For me, on the first sniff, it's cappuccino! A bit eggy, but still very much like a cappuccino or chai latte with a lot of milk! I get a strong cinnamon and cocoa (rather than chocolate) scent and on my skin it is more like what I imagine being slathered in sugar cookie (with cinnamon, ginger, and a bit of nutmeg) would be like. I am definitely getting a full bottle.

    Pet Magah Bird

This is possibly my favorite scent from MVYF. I can't quite smell the individual scents, not really. It reminds me of a mixed berry sorbet with a hint of a bubblegum smell that fades quickly into something really just juicy. It's a fantastically girly, sweet scent that I really enjoy.
