    Pumpkin Latte

I had high hopes for this, but coffee scents seem to disappear on me--I guess I get my caffeine fix however I can? For most of the day (12+ hours), it smelled just like I had smeared some cinnamon and nutmeg on my hand. Later, something that smelled like the BPAL "cookie" note came out. It's only about 15 hours later that it has mellowed out a bit, enough at least to smell something other than spices, but it's nothing spectacular on my skin. Oh well.

    Coffee notes?

IAWTC! (all the comments, actually--we need more coffee scents!) I have Bah! and it is a-freaking-mazing, so obviously the Lab has no issues with creating yummy coffee scents. On a slightly different topic, does anyone know of anything (really, anything) that smells like Villainess' Mudslide? The scent description is listed as "a positively filthy mix of day-old coffee grounds and vetyver, blackened hazelnut, sweet graham, and rich cream." I love, love, love this scent. It's like, the uber-comfort scent e-var. If I ever met a boy who smelled like this, I would kidnap him and never let him go. It is that good. So--help, please? (Yes, I know that Mudslide will be back later this year, but that's too long to wait! Also, Mudslide is very scrubby = hard to use daily.)
  3. Hi! I recently discovered a love of THAI ICED TEA (omg, I'm drooling) and realised that I love the scent of it--both as it's powdered tea-leavesish self, and when it's mixed with milk and sugar. Has anyone ever, ever smelled anything like Thai iced tea? (And maybe with a bit of coconut?) Thanks so much! Oh, and, as this is the "Tea" thread, does anyone know why the tea scents (I think I've tried all of the BPAL ones) disappear? (Or in my case, never appear.) Is it something to do with creating a 'tea' scent--i.e., the oils used to create it--are less potent than others? Am I coming from left field?

    Salty scents?

I know there's another salty thread, but my salty is different: I adore the scent of the air/glass when beakers that have been filled with salt water start to evaporate...this might be actually "burning" salt. Does anyone know of anything that smells at all like this? (It's not an aquatic scent, at all.) Thanks!

    Snake Oil

I've recently realised that Beth's vanilla and I don't get along at all, and unfortunately, Snake Oil...doesn't work on me. It smells like...well, somewhere between smelly old man perfume (and I know of whence I speak!) and AXE body spray. Really. (Both of which, and this, give me a ginormous headache.) It's way to strong on me. (I envy you lovely people who get a great scent out of this.) Edited 1/19 because I rambled.

    MVJBA: Pancake Breakfast

I really, really, really hate my skin chemistry. It could have turned into anything, PLASTIC, EVEN, and it would have been better than what it did turn into: fake grape. *cries* Perhaps one of the things I hate the most, excepting maybe fake banana. *sighs* It seems like it would be lovely, but on someone else. Maybe it would work in a scent locket? *is hopeful* Update: After several hours of dry down (and some dry heaving, due to the grape), this scent has turned into a lovely, close-to-the-skin pancake with syrup scent. Now, if it wasn't for the first bit...

    Smells like Demeter 'Waffle Cone'?

I have really weird skin chemistry, and while Cockaigne smells great in the bottle, it drys down to (the not entirely unlikeable) oatmeal with maple syrup. (Srsly.) I might try Knave of Hearts (cinnamon butter sugar that's not unlikeable at all), if I were you, or Grog, which is also a lovely buttery foody vanilla. And yes, Midway is amazing. Hope that helps!
  8. EDIT: I'm an idiot, and this has been answered. No more post!

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations

I just got done recommending Knave of Hearts over at the "All I want is to smell like a bakery thread" because on me it smells like Razzleberry Pie (butter, cinnamon, raspberries, blackberries, but still totally wearable). A caveat, though: my skin chemistry is weird. I rarely, rarely match any reviews given of any scent. So maybe it's just me on the Razzleberriness of KoH. Also, it's probably been rec'd already, but Misk U smells yummy and foody. It goes a little too dusty on me, but it is great as a room scent (or a pencil case scent, lol). Hope this was helpful!

Cake, cookies, donuts, baked goods, even Cinnabon

I know this isn't a doughnut or bread smell, but Knave of Hearts smells like a Razzleberry Pie on my wrist. Really. It's buttery, with some cinnamon, and blackberries and raspberries. I really, really, really want to bathe in it. Also, the roses aren't really that noticeable, but they help to 'temper' the scent, if you know what I mean. (If you *don't* know, it means that it's not so foody that you couldn't wear it. It's a completely wearable foody scent.) A word of warning, though: it doesn't layer nicely, at least on me. I had some Port Royal on, and several hours later, putting KoH on made it really, really rose-like. But other than that, I CAN HAZ GALLON NAO? (Sorry for the lolspeak.) Also, after reading this, I'm definitely going to try Cockaigne (don't know how I missed it!) and Dana O'Shee. Also, running home to try my Lyonesse imp! Hope this was helpful!

    The Knave of Hearts

Crushed roses and blackcurrant tarts. Oh wow. This is my favorite of the first half of trades. I was despairing of finding a 'YUM!' scent, and then I tried this. It reminds me of buttery pie pastry and razzleberry filling (raspberries and blackberries, for you heathens who don't know). I am definitely getting a 5mL of this, and it will be my 'going to work' scent, as I can't imagine getting annoyed/angry while wearing this! On me, there is little to no rose, although it might be acting more as a tempering agent. One of my trade people sent me a smellie sample of Teenage Cannibal, and it's almost too foody (as if that's possible!). I think in this case, the rose helps to make Knave extremely wearable. This is definitely number 2 on my list.

    Famine

I just received a decant of this, and it sounded intriguing (from the other reviews). Unfortunately, my skin chemistry is weird, and I smell nothing in the way of tea in this. It reminds me a lot of the salty-wood scent I get when wearing Port Royal, without the spicy-sweet and perfume to balance it out. This is going to sound crazy, but stick with me: like Dracul (but to a lesser degree), this scent smells like Neutrogena products on me! (But only sometimes.) Mostly though, it's smokey. As others have mentioned, this is more masculine than many of the other BPAL scents. I don't think I'll be wearing this again.
