Posts I've Made
22 June 2009 - 12:54 AMThis smells wonderful.
At first it's a nice mix of red musk and fruit. I was worried about the pomegranate, it will sometimes give me a headache, but it seems to be agreeing with me here.
After a while the musk dies down and the melon and orange blossom linger. It's a very pleasing scent and I had to go back and beg the goblins for a backup bottle.
21 June 2009 - 02:19 PMIn the bottle this is intensely cherry, almost cough syrup like. I was rather worried because of that but went ahead and tried it.
In the shower it's a little less intense and very yummy. The notes blend well and left a light scent lingering afterwards.
06 April 2009 - 04:17 AMBottle CCXVI
When I first opened this I thought it smelled a little woody. Now about a week later I don't smell the wood but I'm getting a orangey floral/herbysomething vibe. It reminded my mom strongly of Garden Ridge at xmas time. She thought it smelled of balsam (like a xmas tree) at first but then wasn't so sure, she also agrees with the citrus. After much sniffing and debating we think it also has some clove in it. This blend is rather light on the Snake Oil.
So we think it's an orange clove with possible balsam snake. It seems pretty nice, kinda bright and shiny. I'll have to actually wear it a day rather than sitting here huffing my arm to decide if I want to keep it.
Edit update on April 13th: Opening this again I can smell the tree. It does have a xmasy vibe to it so I think my mom is right that it is balsam.
I had the hardest time trying to figure out what this is. It is stronger on the snake oil than CCXVI but still not terribly strong and it blends extremely well with whatever else is in it. I put some on and tried to indentify what I was smelling... sometimes it smelled a little like apples but that went away quickly. It kinda reminded me a bit of Lilith Victoria and once it dried down I knew why. This is lavender snake oil. It's not bad, though I wonder if there is more to it and my nose is just poor because I swear I smelled some apples at first.
01 October 2008 - 02:14 AMI will tell you right away I do not have the best nose but I will try to describe these the best I can.
This is vanilla licorice. Vanilla floats on top of anise. Sweet and spicy and slightly foody. YUM!
This is a sugared floral. I don't know what sort of floral it is. It's a lighter foral not at all heavy or heady. I know it's not rose or gardenia. It smells kinda tropical. My mom thinks it might be a lily but it doesn't smell like any lily I've smelled (I don't usually like lilies). It's a sweet spring or summery scent to me.
