    Bestla

The first few times I tried this I was really put off by the sour/sweet note at the beginning. I think it was the rose oud, because I've had rose go weird on me before. After about 25 minutes though, the sourness faded and it was beautiful. Warm amber sweetened by the fig, but not very figgy, just cozy and beautiful. Since I liked the drydown so much I kept trying it, and the sourness has faded a lot. It only takes a few minutes to get past it. I'm going to keep wearing it, and if I like it as much as I think I do I'll definitely need another bottle or two.

    Pallas Athene

I tried this today at Know's Perfume in Seattle and pretty much immediately asked Christen to order me a bottle. This coming from someone who wears Snake Oil (and occasionally Midway) almost exclusively. This scent came off quite sweet on me, though my skin amps sweet in everything. Not knowing the notes when I tried it I read it as vanilla, but I think now it was probably the amber. After a few minutes I started getting a bit of the cinnamon, which was really lovely. I've since showered, but I can still smell a faint whiff of this on my wrist and it's beautiful. I can't wait for my bottle to arrive! And it's Klimt

    The Scales of Deprivation

Wow, I never ever would have ordered this scent, but I was at will call tonight and the bottle was pretty and I had a bit of testing space left open on my upper arm... This doesn't smell like any of the listed notes to me, instead it is warm and soft and sweet. I've been smelling it all night with no idea what was in it, and I was considering amber and some kind of vanilla/beeswax as note options. I'll be putting a bottle into my next order, and hoping it smells exactly like the will call tester!

    Coyote

I think for some reason I was expecting more of a furry/Ivanushka vibe from Coyote. Instead, on me it is very green, clean, and sweet. When first on I definitely can smell the grasses, though not so much the dryness. When dry, it is really sweet, perhaps that's a bit of the doeskin, and the clean green grass scent lingers.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

Oh Mousie! I wanted to love you, but we weren't destined to be. You have that vanilla from Antique Lace and Morocco that is so so sweet, and then the sweet pea to sweeten you up even more! I love sweet/foody scents, but your sad tale is a little too saccharine for me!

    Against Idleness and Mischief

When first on, the honey dominated this blend for me and it almost reminded me of Crib Girls ( ). Pretty quickly though, it evolved into something much more sophisticated and almost ambery, which I think is tonka's fault. Strangely enough, even though vanilla is one of my favorite notes, tonka always smells a bit too... something for me... maybe too creamy or too grown up? I don't know exactly what it is, but I never like tonka blends as much as I hope to, and this one is no exception!

    Tombstone

I love Tombstone. It is probably my second most worn scent, after Snake Oil (I love this specific vanilla that seems to be in both! ) On me, Tombstone starts out pretty strong on the cedar and balsam, quite woody and almost a little dirty/gritty. Pretty quickly though, the vanilla starts to warm it up and eventually I'm left with a slightly woody/dirty vanilla, which throughout the day evolves into a woody vanilla cookie. The old west connotations are pretty freaking awesome too!

    Quicksilver Phoenix

Unfortunately, anything that even hints at metallic goes the way of generic men's cologne on me. I'd sniffed this and gotten cologne a few times, and when I tried it out there was no real change. After having it on for a while I get something a hint deeper, almost musky, but it is buried under the wash of cologne. Nice, but not for me

    Crib Girls

Seven honeys under one unkempt roof, with fiery-tart cubeb and dusty cardamom. Mmm, crib girls, I had high hopes for you and you did not dissappoint me! In the vial and while applying I can smell something a bit spicy, but pretty much immediately on skin this turns into yummy tart and sweet lemon honey cookies. During the full duration of wearing the scent I get awesome lemon honey cookies. In the beginning the lemon is stronger and as the day goes on the lemon fades into the background, but it is lovely and tasty beginning to end. At the very end it turns a little powdery, as honey tends to do on me, but just like O, it's a lovely powder that I enjoy! I've already ordered a bottle and can't wait for it to arrive so I can slather this scent on with abandon! My decant is not going to last me long with how much I'm putting on!

    Emma

Oh Emma, I had high hopes for you with your bourbon vanilla, rose and patchouli. Unfortunately for me, you also have that pink pepper, and your rose is tea rose! In the vial and first on my skin, Emma smells a bit like a jumble of florals, though soon enough the tea rose comes to the fore and doesn't leave. Like ever. Sad for me, tea rose doesn't seem to like me much, and tells me so loudly from the testing spot on the back of my hand. Ah well Emma, I guess you're not the lady that's meant for me!

    Scent for Halloween?

I'm thinking about Snake Charmer as well. I would probably go with one of the champagne scents, but I haven't done a full test of them yet and don't want to be out if they turn on me!

    Gelt

Gelt is beautiful, it manages to be rich and a little chocolatey, without seeming foody on me at all. In the bottle and first on, it is sharp, dry cocoa powder and I don't like it that much. After a minute or two on the skin, it starts to sweeten up a bit, and the sharpness is gone. After a few hours, the amber has really come out more, but it's sweetened by the cocoa, and I'm reminded a bit of O, that tiny bit of ambery powderyness I really like. Definitely beautiful! Love it and so glad I have a bottle! ETA: This morning I was getting ready and my husband asked "What smells like brownies?"... so I guess while it doesn't smell very foody to me, that's just my perception!

    Lilith Victoria

Please note: I am really bad at reviews! But since this is still available and some people might still be waiting to order, here goes... In the bottle: Nice, a bit Snake Oily, but I can smell the lavender on the tail end of the sniff along with a little something powdery On, something reminds me of Western Diamondback, maybe the fennel standing in for the sage? After a few minutes, something about it also reminds me of Cottonmouth, the sugaryness of Dorian coming out maybe? Drying, this is sweet and warm. Reminds me a lot of Cottonmouth, but in place of the florals is Dorian This is really beautiful!

    The Torture Queen

On me Torture Queen is all chrome, all the time. In the bottle, I could smell the other notes very lightly, but once it hit my skin the metal really came out. So much so that it almost smells like men's cologne, or like I have been rubbing coins on my skin. Overall, this is a clean chrome scent on me. Unfortunately I didn't get any of the other notes, which are the only ones I was hoping to get!

    The Grindhouse

I just received my decant of The Grindhouse, and it is gorgeous. My strongest impression of it is that it is very similar to Mme Moriarty, but without the patchouli that makes that blend too much for me. The red musk is gorgeous, and I get a hint of something almost plummy. The flowers don't stand out on me, which is good, they weren't what I was looking for. Overall, I find this to be a soft, sweet red musk, which I am loving!
