This blend is all smoky resins but also has a soapy-clean note. The olibanum, styrax and myrrh are just beautiful. I am not getting any cassia. Lots of smoke, maybe some wax, so much myrrh. I’m not really getting any pomegranate or currant either! This is just pure incense and candles on me and I am not complaining!

I bought this bottle “unsniffed” and am happy with that choice! I just love mint and chocolate together. And this is like an Andes Mint in a bottle. RIch velvety chocolate and strong mint. A very genuine creme de menthe liqueur note. This is a super sweet, super foodie scent, and I love having it on my shelf!

The Beavers are never very strong on my skin. This one is a little more so than most, but still not super strong. There’s a true cheesecake note (very sweet, a little sour/tangy), plus I think I’m getting a slightly cinnamon-spiced graham cracker crust. The matcha is sweet like a Starbucks matcha, and has that distinctive powdery green tea scent. I was hoping for a winner by taking a chance on another Beav, and I’m glad I did!

Oh that’s nice! The gardenia is a little bit overtaken by the sweet, woodsy resin that is labdanum. But I enjoy labdanum so that’s no issue, and the tropical flower is still quite lush. Makes me think of chilling on a wooden deck in Maui, enjoying a sunset, having some incense burning, maybe a cocktail. A very relaxing scent. Want a bottle.

Similar to New Orleans with the jasmine and honeysuckle, but less sharp/spicy, thanks to the sweet milk note and the subtle warm musk. I love cream florals and this is a lovely, feminine scent. I have a lot of jasmine blends so I don’t need a bottle, but I’ll enjoy the decant.

I agree with reviewer Soupy Twist who said this is like a Turkish ground coffee and very similar to Caffe Mille et une Nuits, which I love and am almost out of. So that works out nicely for me. The coffee, rich and bitter, with the addition of the burnt sugar, buttery swirl of caramel, works so nicely.

An 2004 GC scent I never got around to trying! At last. It’s…cinnamon red hots! But also a lot of vetiver. Oh wait, the notes are saying bitter almond. I guess that’s what it is. It’s so dark and earthy, like coffee grounds. A nice combination with the cinnamon. Not getting any neroli. The cinnamon is a little too much for me, as I probably always knew it would be, but I’m glad I got to try another OG BPAL scent anyway.

Like corn pudding with plenty of butter and brown sugar…rich and sweet and corn-y! It’s not a completely foodie blend, the mallow flower, peony and amber do elevate it to something even prettier, although they’re all very soft, faint notes. I love the lab’s oat blends and this is the first corn one that I remember. Love it. This will go on my bottle wishlist.

Very faint on me. Like if I applied a honey scent 6 hours ago. Very delicate honey with a whisper of baby powder. Honestly I could not even tell you if there was pumpkin in this. Weird. Maybe it just did not age well since it is from 2018.

Not sure why no reviews for this! A lovely aromatherapy type oil. Calming and clarifying. Soft dragon’s blood, strong herbs, and a touch of citrusy bergamot making me feel awake and focused. Adding to my bottle wishlist.

Soft patchouli and earthy oakmoss, and sweet ripe fig.. I can’t say that I am noticing a mushroom scent. This is a gentle hippie blend, very nice and not overbearing. Wow, I just noticed this came out in 2010 and I’m just now trying it. Well, it’s a fine everyday scent that I’m glad I got around to sampling!

Although rose is the first floral note listed, I’m getting a much stronger orchid, mixed with a light amount of dragon’s blood and then some white musk. It’s nice but I’m not a huuuuge orchid person and the rose is just kind of not showing up. This will be in my pile to frimp to someone else who may love it more.

I find the combination of these two notes meditative and calming. They’re both equally present, and combine together seamlessly, making something simple and beautiful.

Lovely foodie confection. Chocolate and maraschino cherry are the strongest notes at first, but then the creamy, nuttiness of the pistachio gelato becomes more noticeable and the chocolate fades a bit. I’m not getting saltiness…it’s very sweet and gourmand on me, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s such a cheerful, cute scent.

Witch in the Woods - This is like a deep blackberry herbal tea, medicinal and strong. So gorgeous. If I walked into a crystal shop that smelled like this I would be under their spell and buy everything lol. The blackthorn, mandrake, cypress – even though I’m not familiar enough with these notes to pick them out individually, they create a lovely dark green mysterious vibe. And there’s just the right mix of juicy dark berry and aged resins. Big bottle please!
