    Event Horizon

Interesting scent. It starts off very dark and heavy. I think thats the opium coming out. Before long, a bright scent comes out, that reminds me a lot of eclipse. It smells like liquid light! Lovely scent, lasts a fairly long time, with moderate throw. As it dries, that bright scent continues, and it scares away all the brooding darkness of the opium and the other deeper notes.

    Séance

Beautiful scent! Lots of sandalwood, warmed wiht a noticable breath of hazlenut. Sadly, it fades to nothing on me within 20 minutes. *sigh* Too bad, I really liked it. But, for those of you lucky folk who it lasts longer on, a gorgeous scent. Calming and meditative, at the same time as being optimistic and warm.

    Masquerade

Interestingly dark and bright at the same time. I get the vibrant orange note, but its deepened with thick spices and the earthyness from the patchouli. This is good, because orange usually ends up being too sweet on me. THis one works out beautifully. I feel like I"m sparkling, at the same time as giving off an aura of mysterious shadow. Very nice scent! Definately will be using up my imp.

    Vampire Tears

A strange scent... I like it, but at the same time, I can't place what about it I like. It is a very cheerful scent, which surprised me, considering the description. in the bottle: lots of citrus. Like others have descried, grapefruit. But nice tart graprefruit. There is something smooth beneath it that is hard to place. A faint touch of florals over the grapefruit. wet: strong grapefruit still, with the green tea now coming out sharply as well. There is still that creamy note in the bakground. dry: Its all mellowed together more now, and the creamy scent, which I've identified as the tonka, comes out a lot more. It pulls it all together and rounds off the edges of the scent. All in all, very nice. Moderately long lasting, with decent throw. I bought my bottle purely because the scent fascinated me so much, but I'm glad that I got it.

    Herr Drosselmeyer

I am completely in love with this scent. Oddly, what drove me to want to try it was the anime Princess Tutu, in which my favorite character is Fakir, a descendant of the villian- Drosselmeyer. So... the name alone drew me in, and based on the description, I was kind of hoping that this would be a scent that would smell like Fakir. ANd man, was I right! in the bottle: soft leather, and warm spice. Like, christmas spice, that you would smell coming from the kitchen while everyone is sitting around the tree. Gorgeous. wet: immediately, the spice seems to face, and the leather takes over. I can also smell a touch of the smoke now, just warming it up a touch. dry: WOW! THe pipe smoke peeks through even more, but rather than making it all smell like smoke, it just heats up the leather into a beautiful WARM scent. That is the best way to describe it. Like firelight reflected off of a cozy leather chair. I love this scent!! So warm and yummy smelling! Lasts a long time, with moderate throw.

    Anactoria

Amazing scent. I don't know what half of the notes smell like, but all together it is spectacular. I definately get the comparison to the scent of sweaty skin, which sounds weird, but is really fantastic. Just warm and intimate. I can't really pick out individual notes in this one, as its one of hte most complex scents that I've tried. Evokes all kinds of memories and thoughts of intimate moments with the significant other, which I suppose is exactly what its intended for ;P. in the bottle: weird, but I almost get a creamy orange scent. Very faint in the bottle though. wet: This is where that skin scent comes in, but I still get a faint trace of orange. Very smooth and intimate. dry: All of the notes mingle perfectly, just using my own scent and amping it up with creamy, sexy, musk. I really can't pick out any individual notes at all anymore, but I just know that its GOOD. Lots of throw, and lots of staying power. After 6 hours, I could still smell it going strong. A must try scent! I think by its nature, its one that would work on most skin types.

    Red Lantern

WOW!!! As soon as I read the description, I ordered it, without even testing it out first. I'm glad that I did! As soon as I opened the bottle, I was stunned, from how incredible this stuff smells! in the bottle: Caramel! sweet, thick caramel that is blended with spices and.. coconut! I can smell the coconut coming through faintly even from the bottle. wet: the caramel is still there, nice and sweet, but now the spices are starting to come through more. And I think thats the opium that is also shining through. I'm still getting that faint trace of coconut, which rounds out the scent beautifully. dry: the sweetness fades after about 20 mintes, leaving the spiced caramel and opium. THe coconut is still there, but it maintains a soft positon in the background, just finishing it all off and pulling everything together. Gorgeous!! I've been looking for a caramel scent that works on me for a while, and I finaly found the perfect one. I LOVE it!!

    Theodosius, The Legerdemain

in the bottle: mmm citrus. Mixed with sugar and sweet tea. Altogether a very sweet, soft scent. I like it a lot. wet: on my skin, the tea some out a lot more, and the cirtus retreats more to the background. However, there is this other very masculine scent that is coming out. I can't place it, except to cell it men's cologne. It dries the whole scent more so its not quite as soft as sweet. Very nice. dry: yup, that masculine scent is coming out more, tying all the notes together in a deliciously dry, crisp scent. I tend to like wearing masculine scents, so I adore it! It is also one that I would like to smell on the boyfriend . Lasts a long time, although it fades fairly quickly toa point where its almost like an afterthought that is following you around. I entirely love it! Much sharper than I was expecting it to be, but in all the best ways.

    Priala, the Human Phoenix (2006)

So far, the carnival scents that I've tried have been rather hit and miss. None of them DON'T work, but there are some that are just.. ok. This seems to be one of them so far. Cinnamon has never been a great note on me, but the decription of cinnamon bark made me think that this one would work better, and it did, but just not that well. bottle: oddly it doesn't smell like veyr much in the bottle. I get a faint trace of cinnamon, and mostly light woods. wet: theres the cinnamon. Very nice though. Nice and warm and woody cinnamon, which works nicely on me. Not much else though. dry: Still about the same. Lots of throw, which is great, and its nice and strong, but its just a very flat scent on me. I think it's one that will get better with time though, so I'm going ot let it age some and see if the other notes come out at all later.

    Scherezade

Gorgeous perfume!! One of the scents that I've tried that best compliments my skin chemistry. Bottle: Red musk, lots of it. I can catch a whiff of spices, but its mostly red musk, which is fine, as it is a scent that I love. Wet: On my skin, the red musk is still there, but it warms more, and the spices start to come out. Just amazing! Dry: Interesting scent... after about 15 minutes it seems to have absorbed right into my skin. I can't smell it on my wrist where I applied it anymore. But, there is this sweet aura that follows me around everywhere. Its strong and subtle at the same time. It follows me around in a cloud of soft scent with lots of throw. I love this scent a lot!! I have my aged bottle, and when that runs out, I'll have to buy another one.

    Temple of Dreams

In the bottle: This is a strange one for me. I immediately loved the smell as soon as I opened the bottle. Very strong lavender, very... deep scent. I don't know how else to decribe it. wet: Wet, sharp lavender that jumped out at me right away. With another sniff, I could get a touch of lemon, with a bunch of other herbs beneath. sage? dry: defiantely sage. Sage and lavender fighting for control on my skin, but not in a bad way. It mellows a little, but keeps up the sharp herbal overtones. I don't really know if it helped mesleep, but I sure did dream. I don't generally remember my dreams, but I had a bunch of weird ones that night. I don't know how long it lasted on my skin, as it was gone by the time I woke up. Which is actually good, because it means I didn't have to wash off remnants of scent the next morning. Very nice! I have my bottle and I love it, but it is a scent that I would have to be in a certain mood to wear. Very deep, sharp, and intense.

    Eshe, A Vision of Life-In-Death (2006)

Eshe has probably turned into my favorite of all the BPAL scents that I've tried. In the bottle it is a heavy floral, with an almost soporific edge to it. The dryness doen't come out yet, in fact it smells quite lush. Very strong in the bottle as well. Wet, it is incredible strong. THis isn't a scent for those who prefer their perfume to be quiet and right against their skin. The different layers start to some out now a bit nore. I can smell the sandlewood, but it is covered by the layers of jasmine and herbs, which add a very rich scent to the mix, despite it just being florals. (Florals and I have never really gotten along) Dry, the dusty scent starts to come out more. The florals, and that really rich scent that everythign combines into is all there, but just with an edge of dryness that makes it mysterious. Still very strong, and very long throw. In the end (hours and hours later) it turns into a rich chocolate scent, edged with flowers, which is very interesting. Then again, everything ends up turning into chocolate on me at the end, but this one is particularily remeniscent of it. I have one bottle so far, and I"ll definately be getting another before the Lab discontinues the carnival scents.

    Tzadikim Nistarim

I love this scent! In the bottle, I definately get that fruity scent that I've heard other people talk about, but it is brough together beautifully by the rich olive scent running through it all. WHich is good, because fruit doesn't usualyl work on me. On my skin, the olive is amped up a lot at first, as balanced by a great... I cant think of another way to describe it but PURE, scent that is beneath the olive. THis scent comes out more as it dries. the initial burst of scent on my skin fades down rather fast (sadly) but a soft scent lingers on my skin for hours, very close to me. Despite how soft it is on me, as I usually tent to prefer the scents that make themselves known, it is definately on the bottle list for me, in my next order.
