I want a BPAL that smells like Bath & Body Works...

I'm with madscientistdh in that I'd also like something similar to 'Rainkissed Leaves'! Any suggestions would be fab, thanks!

Chocolate and Cocoa, in every combination possible

Thanks CaudaPavonis! ('Peacock tail'? Awesome avatar btw.) I'll look into those. I hope the BPAL chocolate note is a yummy one.

Chocolate and Cocoa, in every combination possible

Are there any BPALs that combine sexy chocolate and musk? Preferably a lighter musk (Egyptian, white, golden or blue) not a heavier incense / civety musk like black or red. Can't waer red musk at all and Snake Oil on me smells like a rubber bag full of Dr Pepper. Fank yew for any help!

    Villain

Ohhhhh, this was almost the perfect scent. It seemed quite faint at first, so I put quite a bit on because the initial whiff was truly heavenly: a delicate and intriguing musk that winds seductively around a surprisingly complementary lavender, creating a scent that is both clean, pure and very sensual. But I say 'almost' perfect because there was something in it that was faintly bitter and distracting. Possibly one of the lavenders, or the lime note (which is more bitter peel than zest or juice in this blend), it had the medicinal twang of a institutional detergent, and almost marred what was otherwise a perfect blend. However, with time the 'detergent note' fades and just leaves the most gorgeous pale green and lavender musk behind. *sigh*

    Haloes

Oak, tonka, vanilla, white sandalwood, lily of the valley, white ginger, amber, and apricot. Initially: very sweet fudge wrapped around sugary apple-sauce with hints of clean linen and christmas cake. After an hour or so, apple-caramel wrapped in hot-ironed linen (seriously) with a yankee-candle aftertaste. Fades to a soft caramel afterglow. Interesting, but I'm not a foody weasel, so swappy time.

    Laudanum

I really wanted to like this, being such a fan of the Victorian era. But sadly it was rubbery pencil shavings and traditional, crumbly incense - later sprinkled with a dash of the much-mentioned rootbeer - served in a rubber bottle. mewl.

Looking for BPAL that resembles a Body Shop scent

Good lord, really? I can't believe it. I have loved and worn White Musk for aaaaaaaages, it works so well on me and has always been the best smell (so far) to make me sigh happily. And yet, I hate ylang ylang. I don't like florals - or amber. And jasmine, at least the BPAL jasmine note, becomes a screeching white SCREAM of a smell on me that stabs my sinuses with icicles. Ha, if I'd seen the ingredients of white musk as a new scent to try, I would probably have run away. Just goes to show, you can't judge a scent by its cover. The only problem with BS white musk for me is it takes ages for the smell to appear in all its glory. For the first 8 - 10 hours, it's barely there; it's only when it's been warmed up and worn-in that it arrives and does it's magic thing.

    Absinthe

Just on the skin: Lime-scented washing-up liquid with a hint of old curry powder. It even burned slightly. But after a few minutes an aniseed /licorice-allsorts note started to appear, and the 'washing-up liquid' smell disappeared (thankfully). After an hour or so the aniseed has proved itself to be warm and constant, not licorice-ish anymore, and there's now a light fruity addition of something sweet and green, almost apple-ish. The 'sweet green fruit' component (which still smells of apple, or maybe gooseberry) remains, and the aniseed fades eeeeeever so slowly. Despite its initial assault on the senses, this quickly became deceptively soft and stayed that way - and yet with enough throw on it (you don't want to reek of this stuff) and lasted well. This would be a nice one for very early spring or late winter.

    Schrodinger's Cat

At first: all sweet sugary-grapefruit and bubblegum. I'm not a big fan of pure-fruity smells (especially citrus), and I haven't wanted to smell like candy since I was thirteen - and yet... there was something about this that just intrigued my nose in a pleasant way. A smell so cute you forgive it almost anything. After an hour or so, the more tingly, sugary notes faded into a pleasant tangerine. For me that's usually an oxymoron, I hate tangerine, but this one was actually rather nice, lol. It didn't morph much after that, just gently faded into a pleasant fruity smell with enough depth to keep it interesting. Didn't get any of the mint or mossy notes though, which was a shame. This isn't the kind of thing I'd go for in large amounts, but I'll keep the imp for occasional use - maybe when I need a metaphysical lift...

    The Phoenix

If I hadn't been sent a frimp of this from the gorgeous Tartchef I never, ever would have tried this. I don't go for aquatics, I don't like much citrus, both Dragon's blood and Snake Oil turn into playdough-stuffed-into-a-barbie-head on me, and I haven't got a bloody clue what gunpowder smells like - matches? God knows. Gimme a gun. But I love this. I don't know why it works, it really really shouldn't, but oh baby, it does. Started off as quite a sweet, citrus masculine-ish cologne, and after an hour had shaped itself into a sort of... bergamot musk with slightly spiced wood around the edges. A few hours later, the citrus has backed off a bit, but the overall blend has a real unity to it. But the best thing is its throw: it's just the kind you want - subtle wafts that come up at unexpected times, and smell teasingly, tantalisingly, deliciously good!

    Czernobog

In the imp this smell instantly brought back vivid memories of art school, or rather the studios there. Very odd. On the skin, first 10 minutes: smelled like warm cat and strawberry chewits which resolved into a mildly fruity, tangy musk. After an hour or so it was musk - not extracted from an animal, but from a candy store. Candy store musk. Interesting. Not quite what I was aiming for though... After a few hours it settled down into what I thought was a pleasant, sweet, if slightly generic 'cologne' smell - and thought this would be an imp to pass on to someone else - BUT, the throw! Oh my god, the subtle wafts of throw this thing had were just gorgeous! If I sniffed my wrist directly, cologne. But left to its own devices to just 'waft' at will, utterly gorgeousness!

Oh, you, utter sweethearts thank you so much for all the suggestions so far! And HonorAlexandria, you are the sweetiest of sweethearts! Another member recently surprised me with a frimp of Phoenix, so I'll test that one first (naturally) then consider parting with it, or getting another one, hehee. But with two recommendations for Pirate Moon I think I should give it a shot! I saw the 'for sale' link in your sig - but it's been archived. Mewl. If you have any imps still that you're considering selling, let me know, and I could include the Pirate moon on my list

Thank you Tau (fabulous icon, by the way), Torture King sounds like a strong contender! Though with that title he may need a little convincing...

    Lurid

After the first few minutes: this was a delightfully sweet and sharp dark berry with a saucy musk underneath. After an hour or so it began to calm down, and on me is becoming more and more 'sandalwood'-ish (maybe a mix of the resins + white musk and just hint of smoky berry). It's the kind of sandalwood I've smelled before in Rogers et Gallet sandalwood soap and the solid deoderant by Lush - it's very yummy! There's nothing particularly shocking or 'lurid' about it though, it's a sexy but very sophisticated smell with a great (but not overpowering) throw: little wafts of yumminess eddy around me now and again, obliging me to sniff my wrist again (and again). I'm still quite new to BPAL-ness and was a bit moopy that none of my first imps worked for me very well - but this one does!

Thank you Aevalin and Su, I'll check those out - though I'll start with the lime-ier ones, as that definitely seems to be a perogative.
