From Facebook: Slime Queen is a cotton candy Dorian variant

Like a lighter, somewhat cleaner Dorian. I love Dorian, so I had to buy this one.

Edit: It's been a week and I tried Slime Queen again and got cotton candy right off the bat. The delicious sugar and vanilla are exactly what I was craving on this hot night, but as it dries, they recede and Dorian comes out.

Thanks to my lovely fairy for picking this up for me! :)

In the bottle: On initial sniff, I smelled Dorian. So I got out some Dorian to compare (an aged bottle of Dorian and a fresh bottle of Dorian hair gloss). This is definitely softer and cleaner. It does not smell super sugary, either, so this cotton candy is either light (like in Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs) or flavored.

Wet: This is much, much softer than straight-up Dorian. I'm currently getting the pale musk and a bit of the lemon-y white tea and fougere of Dorian, but I have to say that normal Dorian is sweeter than this is on me. Alas, I am not getting any cotton candy from this.

Dry: This still reads as musky and clean to my nose... which makes sense if it is supposed to represent slime, but not cotton candy plus Dorian.

Much later, it becomes really masculine on me (and I see Dorian as a unisex scent). It reminds me of another scent, although I'm having trouble identifying which one. I keep thinking Odin or Mister Wednesday, but I don't have an imp of Odin anymore to compare to this. So maybe there's some herbs or wood at play here?

Verdict: I am going to let this one age a bit and revisit it. I typically love Dorian and its variations, so I am surprised that this was not love at first sniff. If I am not able to get some cotton candy out of this with some age, or even the usual sugared vanilla tea of Dorian, I will have to send it somewhere where it will be more appreciated.

*edit* I originally reviewed this the day after it arrived. I am retesting Slime Queen after it has had over a week to settle. I have Slime Queen on one hand and Dorian on the other. Slime Queen is definitely sweeter than when I originally tested it and does possess a sugared quality to it, but it's like Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs in that the cotton candy component isn't as strong as you would expect (in other words, not like Midway). Slime Queen now smells a sugared pale musk and fougere scent. I am so glad that I am getting more sweetness from it than I did before, and I highly recommend letting it settle for a little longer and retesting it if it doesn't work for you the first time. :)

Sugary cotton candy Dorian. The Dorian aspect is much more prominent on wet, but as it dries down the vanilla from Dorian comboed with the cotton candy sugar really make it a vanilla sugary musk. You can still catch the Dorian origin of the blend. Medium throw and wear length.

Wet: Dorian, but extra sweet.

Dry: Hm, I'm not really getting cotton candy from this, but I AM getting a lot of sweetness. Like an extra sweet Dorian.

The cotton candy note in Midway I can definitely smell, but I don't think this is the same.

This might need to rest a little longer for the cotton candy to come out, as stated by previous reviewers; I'll try it again in a week or so and update this if it's different!

This is a sugary dorian, but light on the lemon. It fades into regular dorian though, but more of a sugary vanilla musk and less of the complex fougere. The throw and longetivity is also less than regular dorian.

I am a big cotton candy fan and the closest cotton candy bpal variant I've found is Pink Wig Spray. I was very excited to score a bottle of Slime Queen.

Slime Queen in the bottle just smells like Dorian, however once it is on the skin the other notes emerge.

On my skin I get a pink sugar note rather than a cotton candy note. I do not find this similar to Pink Wig Spray. Slime Queen is very unique.

The normal lemon note I get from Dorian is not there and it seems to me like the pink sugar note I am getting has replaced the Dorian lemon note. I adore Dorian blends and this is a stunning everyday flirty perfume. I think my boyfriend would like this for himself too as he amps Dorian very nicely. It is a lovely vanilla tea with cubes of pink sugar and that lovely fougère undertone Dorian has.

Medium throw, medium wear length. Make sure your skin is very moisturized before applying because this scent will fade fast on dry or dehydrated skin!

If you love Dorian, get this! If you want a foody or a cotton candy bpal, ignore this! This is definitely not foody or cotton candy in my opinion!

Cotton Candy and Dorian! It's wonderful!

Nate: That smells familiar and good, what is it?

Me: Slime Queen! Cotton Candy Dorian!

Norally I get more cologne, more lemon... I mean Dorian, the original is like Tea sugar cookies on me, so good.

This is like soft puffy clouds of cotton candy with drops of the Dorian base. It's delicious!

I'm not getting cotton candy here, but not minding one little bit. Up close, I'm getting sugared musky Dorian, and from a distance, I'm getting something like a lime margarita around me. Perfect for the hot weather, and an awesome Dorian variant!

There's a "cotton candy" tea at David's tea I adore - for the smell as much as the flavor. I always thought it would make a beautiful perfume. That's almost exactly what this is. A divine pink sugared light tea.

In the bottle, I'm getting a faint hint of the cotton candy. But as someone else in this thread said, on my skin, it's a sugary, slightly musky Dorian. And I'm ALL for it. Dorian is a favorite of mine, and this version is slightly lighter and perhaps a teensy bit more heavy on a (sugared) black tea note. Normally I amp sugar as a note, but the rest of the Dorian-centered notes seem to be enough to keep the sugar in its place.

So glad to add this to my collection (Thanks Twi, for another great swap! ;) )

This is Dorian served with slightly more sugar in the tea! It even does the Dorian thing of vanishing on my skin in about an hour. :D It is gorgeous, though, even if I have to keep reapplying.

Slime Queen smells like Dorian but it’s not the same. This smells like a slightly sugary, brighter Dorian. Dorian smells much more of soft lavender and sweet vanilla while Slime Queen has just a slight hint of slightly herbal lavender, less vanilla, but a bit more of a spun sugar note. Update an hour later: the drydown is much sweeter than Dorian, it’s got a wispy sort of cotton candy scent now, still very light but sweeter than before. I prefer Dorian because there’s more sweet vanilla while Slime Queen has a bit more dusty sugar. It’s softer than Dorian as well but I don’t actually get any cotton candy in this.

This is an incredible blend for Dorian lovers. It's got that Dorian heart with a bit of a pink sugary-sweetness to it. I guess I'd say this feels a bit cuter and less grown up than Dorian, but the fougere/cotton candy really works.
