Cardamom-infused whiskey and fig cream.

I tested this one at Drag Con, and the cardamom was the dominant note on me and the boy (who was reminded of cake -- I did not think of cake, but it did remind me of the cardamom on cardamom buns in Sweden). I thought this would be really boozy due to the whiskey. It was more foodie on both of us, although the whiskey did end up being the main player after a while. I was not able to pick out the fig cream, but maybe that's because my nose was too overwhelmed by that point.

Fans of cardamom will be happy to have this one. The only thing that stopped me from buying a bottle was me trying to tell myself that I already have a cardamom-forward foodie scent (Cardamom Cream Pumpkin Cake) in my collection.

Alright, Lyncanthrope, we need to talk. You start as this delicious cardamon flavored cream, and then suddenly take a detour into Bananaville, and then you just GHOST ON ME.

This entire scent is like a relationship where you meet someone and they are almost perfect, and then turn into Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on you for a hot second, BEFORE GHOSTING COMPLETELY, as you reel trying to figure out WTF just happened. This blend is totally MIA from my skin about 45 minutes later.

And you know what I now catch a whiff of? Bananas.

...

Why?

Freshly applied, I get toasty cardamom with a little sweet fig and a nice waft of the carmelly, non-sweet whisky. I really like this. It’s not fig heavy, which I can sometimes find to be cloying, and it has none of the medicinal notes that cardamom can sometimes have. It’s very subtly gourmand. Will update again after a few hours of wear!

Source: Lovely lovely decant circle

Preconception: Weary - Cardamon is new to me, cream can go sour, fig has been meh before, whisky can get too boozy tart.

Vial Sniff: OMG this is heaven. Slathered on skin right away.

Skin: Stays beautiful with cardamon and team - a creamy warm spiced sweet beautiful thing

Drydown: Carmel-esq with a tart boozy high note. Foody without doing that "baked goods" grubby thing (No idea how to describe that). However the base note seems absent. I can tell this is going to struggle to stick around for the long game.

... Sound like it needs layered.

With, maybe, Drag is for everyone?

Verdict: High-note heavy; top notes of caramel and booze, nice spiced. Late drydown starts to go a tad masculine with a boozy spiced remnant.

Wet: Whiskey and cardamom! The cardamom is coming off very creamy. I wasn't sure how I would like the whiskey, but it's really nice.

Dry: Everything is balanced pretty evenly here, and it works. It's a little foodie, but not a heavy foodie; whether you're a fan of foodie scents or not, I think this scent would appeal to all different types of people. It's... just... good.

I think I'll need to upgrade my decant to a bottle! A surprise hit for me.

This was Cardamom heavy at first but I didn’t get much else as it dried down. Maybe a little creamy booziness later on, but sadly it didn’t last long on my skin. It was gone in less than a half hour. I have other stronger Cardamom scents so I sold this one.

I nearly blind-bottled this on Etsy but went for a decant instead. I wouldn't have been unhappy if I had bought a bottle. It's a lovely, creamy fig foody. In fact, it would make a fantastic winter dessert; I should play with a recipe in a few months. I adore cardamom, and the whisky holds it all together in a fairly unobtrusive way. If the throw and wear length were a little better on me, I might already have ordered that bottle. As it is, I'm going to wait to compare with Eternal Virgin and see which works better on me.

I don't do Whiskey perfume well. No clue why, I love actual Whiskey. But I could not resist the Cardamom or the Fig Cream, so here we are....trying not to get my hopes up.

Wet: The throw is massive at first and immediately reminds me of My Little Grotesque, likely my fave Cardamom perfume so far. But then shit gets....weird. Like, what is that? Smells kind of like that banana medicine I had to take way too often as a kid. WTF? Gotta be the whiskey. But there is also something....sprucey? Or maybe more like juniper - like some Gin got in there too. No...that's not it. I don't know what I am smelling.

Dry: OK, this settles and is not longer weird. It's light creamy fig with a touch of cardamom. I should love it, but somehow I just don't. I often struggle with cream notes, they just don't sit well on my skin, taking on a faint "scorched" quality. I have cardamom scents I like better, I have fig scents I like better...I am trying to be ruthless with my collection, so this will likely go. May age it a few months longer just to be sure.

In the bottle: Whiskey and butter. Very buttery, it kind of put me off of trying it!

Wet: Still lots of butter, reminding me of microwave popcorn. But there is a little spice coming through and warm whiskey though I don't know if that is helping or hurting at this point.

Dry: The sweet, spicy cardamom backed by the deep sugary/woody warmth of whiskey. Getting no more butter or fig.

My first reaction was, spiced coffee...? I think the cardamom + whiskey + cream is somehow reading coffee on me! I'm not mad about it. It's actually reminding me a LOT of the Spiced Rum Buttercream Coffee from the Activism line, which I have a partial bottle of. It's foodie but not super-heavy. Not much fig, and I would've liked that, but I still like it as is!
