Velvet Lilly

Squirting Boutonniere

Recommended Posts

Hot pink rose wet with cucumber and water lily.

Hey! Floral note lovers – This is your new Spring gorgeousness!
It may have an adorable, silly name, but this is seriously beautiful floral and greens scent!
So well blended, with a medium throw, and it dances softly through it’s notes.
This reminds me of, if a painting was a person and had a scent – Monet’s water lilies, wearing a Gatsby floral frock.

With Squirting Boutonniere, I get mostly the high, white note of lilies. No "Hey, that smells like cucumber!" which I was glad about, but no real crisp green scent either. And absolutely no rose. Sadly, lilies this loud are seriously headache-inducing, so I had to wash this off rather quickly. Bummer.

Pink roses and lilies. If there was cucumber in this, it is highly MIA. I just get pink roses and heady lilies. Great throw and wear length.

Hot pink is right! The rose is very pink and very perfumey. As this dries down the water lily comes out, but it smells soapy in the way lily of the valley often does on me. Not a gentle, watery aquatic like I was hoping for. It would be pretty for a candle or something though.

I shouldn't like this as much as I do, because I don't tend to like floral, sharp, or clean scents, and this is all of the above. It smells like a modern floral perfume that you'd find in a department store right now. The rose does have a hot pink, screechy quality to it, and the water lily is clean and slightly soapy. I don't get a noticeable cucumber or green note to the blend. At first, it reminds me a lot of a Chloe rose blend, very chic and clean, and the drydown is more of a dried, aged, antique rose mixed with the scent of clean laundry hung out to dry and spritzed with white florals. The drydown reminds me of an Annick Goutal rose.

This also kind of makes me think of a rose version of bpal's Dirty. Chilly, cold laundry that's been hung out to dry, mixed with old fashioned roses. I want to full bottle this one.

ETA:  My bottle of this has aged strangely :( goes on with an herbal, sweet tang that reminds me of bread and butter pickles, which I actually don't mind, but then dries down to baby powder, green herbs and soapy-aquatic-clean-laundry, and I don't enjoy the powdery aspects.
