Dark Chocolate, Black Tea, and Patchouli Hair Gloss

Recommended Posts

[No additional description given.]

Ok, so usually I totally stay away from anything that has patchouli in it... BUT I have learned that there are times when the Lab/Post has a way of blending it that makes it less hippie-ish, which is what I never liked about patch. SO I thought I would try this!

I haven't sprayed in my hair, so this is just sniffing in the bottle... I might edit this once I do a proper hair test. Sniffing in the bottle I do get chocolate... and something pale and sweet. That might be the tea note, but it doesn't seem like the usual tea scent I have smelled in other blends. Also, it might be how the patch is blended with the tea and chocolate, but it almost seems like it is a little bit of a licorice smell there. My nose isn't at 100% right now because of allergies, but this seems like it will be a nice light blend despite it being patch and dk chocolate in there.

Update: Got this in my hair....sadly, this isn't for me. The chocolate note is nice, but the tea and patch notes together goes odd. Still get that licorice vibe and I am not a licorice fan. :( Oh well.... that's how it goes!

This smells like the tea note from Teatime in Roswell or Lilith's Tea Party plus some chocolate. So if you like those tea fragrances and a little chocolate in it, you might like this.

This is beautiful and exactly what I needed to go with all my chocolate perfumes. The dark chocolate is delicious and the tea and patchouli are very nicely balanced and don't overwhelm.

Let me just say this is only my view of this blend and your mileage will probably be different. It's the chocolate man, and I know I'm on a very small team of people that don't enjoy the smell. If you enjoy the smell this would be right up your alley.

The dark chocolate smells exactly like a very dark chocolate bar. That sharp pungent smell is pretty much all I can smell at first. Eventually the tea shows up but it doesn't lend anything to the blend other then a bit more sharpness.

The patchouli is over shadowed by the chocolate so much that I hardly can detect it. As another poster above mentioned, it does turn into a slightly chocolate powder smell.

Does anyone else get "wet dog mixed with saliva" when they smell chocolate or is that just me? Probably just me.

I find that this is fast becoming the HG I reach for most often, and I'm not much for chocolate scents usually. It's a well-balanced blend of very good chocolate and what my nose says is Earl Grey tea. The patchouli is very light and lends just an extra little oomph to connect the chocolate and tea. The gloss has tremendous staying power as well - I smell it continually all day after spraying, and can wash several times with other-scented shampoo and it comes back!

I grabbed a decant of this, because Dark Chocolate, Golden Amber, Sandalwood and Nutmeg is on my top favorite HG list. This starts with the same beautiful chocolate note and then the tea steps in. It is a classic bkack tea note. The patch is light. Another winning HG!
