Favorite pastime: peeping in yer windows. What a creeper!

Spiced rum leather, frankincense, black cedar, sweet tobacco, and honey-gold sandalwood.

In the bottle: Thick, strong rum with tobacco.

Wet on my skin: Spicy, boozy rum with tobacco and frankincense.

Dry: This is a win on my skin! The primary notes on me are spiced rum, frankincense, and tobacco, in that order. Under those are cedar and sandalwood, and a hint of brown leather. It's on the sweet side of spicy and incensed, and a bit on the masculine side of things as well. The throw is medium, though the frankincense is detectable much further away than the rest of the notes. My skin tends to amp that note, however, and I'm fine with that since I love the Lab's frankincense note. After it has been on several hours, the leather starts to come out more, but it's a beautifully sweet and soft brown leather similar to that in Blood & Judgement So Well Commedled. This is definitely one for the tobacco/incense/rum lovers! In my mind, it's a bright, shimmery gold (almost golden-brown) in colour.

This is a lovely, sexy fragrance, and I can pick out all of the listed notes in it. It kind of reminds me of the original version of Luperci, with its honeyed woods and earthiness. I was worried that the spiced rum would turn to cinnamon, but the spiciness is subtle and more clove-like on me. I get lots of the cedar and honeyed sandalwood, which is very smooth and makes me think of old cedar chests. The sandalwood isn't turning baby powdery on me like it usually does, just smelling very smooth and like an expensive, true sandalwood. The sweet tobacco is earthy and sensual. The honey smells of beeswax more than a true honey, which I am grateful for. The frankincense is golden and sweetly resinous. And everything in it mingles together perfectly.
Honeyed, woody, resinous and with hints of earthy tobacco, dark leather and spice. It's very well-blended and I love how smooth this fragrance is.

Wondering why there aren't more reviews for this one?

Its basically Perversion minus the grape note and a bit drier due to the frankincense. Its got that same sexy tobacco note as French Tobacco SN. Pretttttty awesommmmme, if you ask me. ;) Wonderful combination of rum, leather, tobacco and sandalwood.

On the drydown, the tobacco cures itself a bit. The woodiness comes out in modest amount. Not enough to kill the sexy notes. I can't imagine a single leather, tobacco, or rum fan being disappointed with this.

Its balanced enough to keep your id in check (psychologically speaking).... just reminds yourself and smellers that you have extreme potential for naughtiness.

ITI: Although I'm still recovering from a cold and my sense of smell hasn't completely returned, this one punches through all of that to present a spicy, smoky, rum-soaked leather that's slightly peppery from the cedar, tinged with tobacco.
Wet: On my skin, the tobacco is sweeter, the leather less dominate, the sandalwood (glittering and pure) more prominent.
Dry: After 8 hours, scrubbing the tub with bleach, and using other cleaning products throughout the day, the scent has settled beautifully. The longevity of the frankincense, sandalwood, and tobacco lend the scent contemplatively innocent and sweetly comforting tone. The remainder of the rum and leather are gentle and soft but also alluring. Gorgeous!

In the imp: When I opened it fresh from the mail (I know, I know - I'm terrible at waiting!), I got a massive blast of cinnamon that had me worried (lately, spicy scents, especially cinnamon and/or clove, have caused my skin to react in a... non-optimal way). But upon opening it again a day or two later, this was gone - thank goodness for settling! Now, it's a smooth, sweet, and VERY sexy tobacco-leather blend, sort of the more masculine equivalent of my beloved dark, smoky vanillas. Actually, maybe it's bourbon vanilla giving me the scent association - I'm not a big drinker, so I'm not great at picking out boozy notes, but the impression is very similar. Whatever it is, it's thick and sexy enough to sink my teeth into; just this side of gourmand-sweet. I can also detect just a hint of incense and/or spice way at the back, but I have to pay close attention to do so.

Wet: Fairly linear, albeit drier. The tobacco especially feels dried, lacking that almost vanilla-y/juicy aspect. Similarly, the leather is now that of an old book cover or armchair, not warmed by body heat. The woody and/or incense notes are also more prominent, but the spices have fled entirely. It's still definitely a sexy man-smell, but now more austere and less front-and-center sexual.

Dry: Slowly but surely warms back up to something close to ITI, although it never regains that lovely, juicy, overtly sexual element. The incense fades into the background, and the leather becomes more prominent. There's still a faint, woozy note of rum running throughout, giving the leather some depth, although the sharp alcohol element is pretty much gone. (Huzzah!) Throw is okay, but not enormous - which is a plus for me, since I occasionally amp sweet smells to high heaven.

I have a weakness for tobacco/leather/rum/wood masculine scents, and this is an excellent addition to the collection! Nothing incredibly outstanding, just sweet, sexy, and comforting on a cold day.

On my skin: Tobacco takes the lead in this sweet, dry scent, with frankincense, rum, and well-worn leather harmonizing. It smells a bit like a sophisticated man's cologne. I bet it would smell great on a sexy man.

On my sexy man: Far richer and more complex, with more deep tones of cedar, sandalwood, and spices. I wish he liked this one -- it has all his favorite notes! -- but every time he sniffs it, he says, "Too sweet." Alas!

right off i get tons of cedar and something kind of spicy from the rum. i must say, i am not always enamored by how strong cedar can get on me and of course it is dominating this scent! after a few minutes, the rum leather comes to the forefront and it's much better. the tobacco and honey sandalwood sweeten it up a bit and it gets less cedar-y over time. this is very nice, like a spicy leather-tobacco. it reads traditionally masculine to me but it's not overpowering. the sandalwood gets stronger with time as well, adding more woodiness to the scent. a spicy leather-sandalwood. i really want to smell this on my boyfriend, to be honest.

Tobacco, sweet sandalwood, touch of leather. This is a very masculine blend. Actually, there's a popular men's cologne that sort of smells like this, I think. But it has that vibe. Good throw and wear length.

I'm actually kinda pleased to see this, as this is what I'd consider gifting to a male significant other in that it smells like a commercial perfume, but better. In other words, this is gateway BPAL here folks. If you're looking to enable men-folk, and they prefer the heavier/muskier sort of blends, give this one a try.

I had a feeling that this would be a winner from the notes list, and I took one sniff at NEWC and went "yup, that's the one". Sweet, spicy woods and incense wrapped up in rum leather (seriously, it's rum AND leather at the same time!). Be warned that this is HEAVY - a dab'll do you.

Short summary: Streets of Detroit meets Spanked. Glorious.

This is it: the wealthy old man scent I've spent the past few months looking for. It starts with the frankincense, sandalwood, and cedar, then brings in the leather. The smell of a former U.S. senator's personal library in his Kalorama home is complete. The attribution of the window-peeping gnome is appropriate, as I spend a lot of time peeping at these people's homes. I've smothered a fair amount of this on myself, and it isn't too strong.

The labels on the Yule Boys bottles are beyond adorable. They also help me distinguish which is which, so I greatly appreciate them.

Definately spicy. I'm a little scared to put this on my skin..

Wet: Oh... there's not much besides the sweet sandalwood, and a bit of soft tobacco.
Dry: Ah, THERE'S the rest of the notes, easy to pick apart. Masculine, like a sexy dude in a suit sitting on an expensive leather chair (one of those that turns, all that's missing is a white cat he'd be stroking maliciously...). Not for me, but certainly a pleasure to try!

Before sniffing: How could I go wrong with these notes? Other than if the rum is too boozy and the tobacco just nasty -- which were my two concerns before I tried St. Clare (white sandalwood and tonka with sweet tobacco incense, vanilla-infused mahogany, rum absolute, and golden oudh). But I loved St. Clare, and if the tobacco here is like the lab's French tobacco note, I'm happy to give this a shot.

Wet on my skin, Glugga is a beautiful, golden rum-suffused sweet tobacco; the rum isn't boozy (by which I mean alcohol-reeky) and the tobacco is the tobacco I like. I think I get a trace of vanilla, but nothing else stands out at this stage.

Once Glugga dries, its rum steps back, leaving a light caramel hint of itself, and the cedar and sandalwood step forth and round things out. At first I think tobacco has gone dry -- then I realize that's the grainy texture of the sandalwood, with maybe a little frank, too. I smell a little spice now. The tobacco is still its sweet, chewy self.

A good one.

I love tobacco. And rum. I passed this up when they first came out, and regretted it. So I snatched it when I had the chance.

Wet: OMG with the sandalwood too....swoon!! And it has my favourite Lab leather note (well worn) covered in rum, with a dash of spice, tobacco, sandalwood...basically this scent should be called "a few of Liz's favourite things". I am in love.

Dry: I was just wearing Arabian Dance today, and this reminds me of the leather in that, only with rum and sandalwood instead of coffee, along with the tobacco and spices. So, basically, it's gorgeous, and I'm mad I didn't get it a year ago. But I am going to tell myself it was that year of aging that makes this truly magical....

A masculine scent...the leather and tobacco blend smoothly with spiced rum. It's not that boozy...I could probably wear it to work and not receive strange looks. It dries down to a spicy leather, which is nice, but not enough for me to want a whole bottle.

It's funny, there are many unisex scents I love to wear, but this one read as too masculine on my skin. It had that cologne vibe zanzoku_zen mentions that always puts me off. Not a lot of spices, primarily leather-tobacco-sandalwood with a faint hint of rum. I don't have a scent-wearing man in my life, but this would be marvelous on a guy. Elegant, sexy, with a dry wit. It sweetens on drydown and I'm quite enjoying it now, but I don't need a bottle.

This smells amazing on my husband. I would have guessed that the sandalwood he would have amped, but instead the tobacco wins out. It's such a comforting, manly smell that doesn't stray into nasty cologne or woodsy notes. Yay!

Resiny, smoky, leathery, but quickly settles into warm, creamy vanilla-esque smokey sandalwood. The tobacco in this is not quite French Tobacco SN or Perversion sweet, perhaps mellowed by the wood, and definitely not over-sweetened by the honey. It unfortunately has low throw on me so I need to slather it a little, but I love the warm feel of this, like opening a sandalwood cabinet to stored tobacco and honey and mmm the return of leather here is just yum. There's a freshness to this which might be the frankincense (trying to compare to another frankincense blend) which just lifts the warmness and makes this an extra delight.

Update: I don't know what it is but Gluggagægir is breaking my heart ;( That original smokey wood is completely gone in the bottle version I bought. I gifted an overseas friend my decant, which the above review was for, and have since found that the full bottle I since purchased, just isn't doing the same thing. Maybe it was an unfortunate balance in the vial (and a fortunate scent profile for me) but now I definitely do not love the bottle as much as I thought I would. It's heavy on the leather and resin, and frankincense, but remains heady for the duration of my wear and no longer has that lovely tobacco sandalwood cupboard that I so crave from this. Such a shame, as it was one of my favourites beforehand 💔

What a delicious dry-spicy-woody scent. Tried it at the same time as Fenris Wolf, and they've got a lot in common, though G has a lot more spice/bay rum (not really a boozy sort, at any stage, but spicy-focused) while FW dries in to a sweet-musky thing. The staying power is good and the throw standard for BPALs - very nice for your partner and maybe noticeable to anyone else paying attention, but not screaming. Resisted the urge to douse with it.
