The Candy Butcher (Prototype)

Recommended Posts

Oh, my. I am a fan of the original Candy Butcher, so when I was offered a swap for a prototype version, I was happy to jump on it. And now, the original is just not the same for me anymore. This one is so much deeper, richer and sweeter, while somehow remaining pretty close to the exact same unique chocolates and cream scent. In fact, when I first tried it on, I didn't immediately notice the difference between the two. But once I tested them side by side, the original then almost seemed watered down in comparison. This stuff is STRONG! A few drops lasts all through the day for me, and I can sometimes still smell it on my skin the next morning even. And this is from someone who has skin that eats scents like crazy. I really like the extra sweetness in this version, and can only hope I can score another bottle of this someday. Though with as potent as this is, this bottle should realistically last me a looooong time. At least one can only hope.....

I brought a bottle home.... and will do more skin testing tomorrow. This is so much more than just bittersweet chocolate and cream.....the whole sordid gathering in her tray is here....
I'm getting whispers of bourbon...tobacco? And a whiff of old burlap, crushed dried grass she's standing over....painted wood and yes....that shrunken head.

This is no sweet candy confection......this is troubled. The candy of nightmares. And yet...it's beckoning draw is unmistakable.

So I managed to swap for a tester of this, and it smells more than just sugary dark chocolate, a whiff of cream. I would say that there's some dried grass, a touch of wood, and maybe some bourbon in there. It's richer, more complex and definitely more than just a foodie blend. Candy Butcher has never been a blend that has worked for me, but I am very impressed by the prototype.
