The First Encounter

Recommended Posts

Candied apricot and orange blossom honey with grandiflorum jasmine, orris C02, tonka, patchouli, quince, and skin musk.

Sweet! Definitely smelling apricot! I get mostly sweet apricot, but there is also a hint of something else. A floral? Kind of a light scent.

-ETA-
This one is pleasant, but it isn't for me. It's just missing the depth that my favorites have.

Smelled great in the vial. Really strong candied apricot with a nice floral undertone and I also detected the skin musk.

The jasmine ruined this for me within a couple minutes, or less, once I applied it to my skin. It then smelled of apricots and a slightly floral and wet baby diaper. Jasmine is hit or miss for me, and I guess this time it just wasn't meant to be. If it hadn't turned on my skin it would have totally been bottle worthy.

I pretty much only get the apricot and jasmine notes from this. It's a yellowy scent with the sweet, juicy apricot (sort of smells like canned peaches on my skin) and sour jasmine. The drydown is less sweet and more of a clean, perfumey floral jasmine. I'm not a huge fan of bpal's jasmine notes, so this isn't working for me. Fades surprisingly quick on me, only lasting about an hour.

I'm getting a sweet apricot and jasmine with a tiny bit of a dusty note. Not for me, this is much to sweet and heady.

I'm so glad I ordered a bottle of this! I loved the idea of the candied apricot, floral, tonka mix but what really sold me was the poem that went with it - lovely! (I'm a sucker for buying BPAL based on the description/concept) I was really worried about the jasmine because I haven't tried the Lab's jasmine before and I know it does crazy things with some skin chemistry.

In the bottle: All I get is that apricot and something citrusy which is likely the quince? Also the C02 note was pretty strong here.

Wet: Strong jasmine.

Dry down: Soft apricot, honey and tonka scent. Really pretty and wearable and not a huge throw.

I didn't get much patchouli or orris from this at all, really, but then again I'm still relatively new to scent recognition so it could well be my nose. In short I love it and I'm so glad the jasmine worked! It's exactly what I wanted this scent to be - it's sweet but not sickly or overwhelming. I should have bought two! :)

Wet: Very, very musky jasmine.

First on: Still pretty musky, but the floral and fruit scents are popping through together.

Dry: Just a little hint of apricot, but mostly the smell is just skin musk on me now.

Apparently I didn't review this when I first tested it. The first time, when it had just arrived, I was disappointed because all I got from it was jasmine. Today I tried it again and guess what? All I got was a very sweet apricot note. After a while I got some musk too, but the jasmine had hidden (almost?) completely.

Sweet apricot jam and a light, dry musk. Very fruity but not heavy or thick at all. There's a watery jasmine that smells a little green to me rather than the cloying, intense floral jasmine that can overwhelm every other note in its path. Overall it's very light and gentle, extremely feminine. A little perfumey. It dries down into a musky sweetness with a tiny bit of fruitiness hanging onto it. I love the apricot in here, it's what really wins me over, especially since it's so identifiable. One of my favorites Lupers ever.

ok i tend to avoid fruity scents, especially peach but i noticed that i seem to be a bit open to apricot and nectarine because they're more tart. also jasmine often goes wonky on me, and sometimes patchouli too, so this was a risk for me! it really does smell like candied apricot with a hint of jasmine, quince and skin musk. very dainty and pretty. after awhile i am smelling the tonka as well, and later on, unfortunately for me, it becomes much more sweet and heavy on the peach. if you like peach and patchouli you'd dig this, but it's just not right for me.

I like the candied apricot part of this scent, but I can honestly only stand jasmine if I can't really smell it in a blend. And I can definitely smell it in this one.

I gambled on this scent, but someone offered a trade and figured what the heck. Full disclosure I hate Jasmine. It's all personal preference. On someone else or in someone else's house, sure it's lovely. The same way I can appreciate floral print bedspreads at someone else's house, or classical tea cups on display. But I sure as hell am never owning floral bedsheets or frilly tea cups

It's just that Every. Other. Note. in this scent I adore. I had to try it. Apricot? patchouli? Skin Musk! Maybe Honey ("blossom-honey" is always a coin flip - honey or floral?).

Sadly it's all Jasmine. Well behaved Jasmine, to be sure. It's not powdery over-floral overtaking the whole flippin' room Jasmine. I was hoping the candied apricot and patchouli would bring in an element of the labs Depraved into things. But this is totally different.

This is soft, floral, sweet, pretty, sensual in an almost-innocent way, light-musk. I'd consider it a well rounded floral. One that if someone who fit this scent wore, I'd be jealous and probably a little attracted ;). But It's simply put, not for me. The patchouli in this is NOT the black patchouli I love. Not sure what kind it is- it's not forefront at all. It peaks out close to skin in dry-down later moments. There are splashes of apricot that cut through the Jasmine, I love those splashes with the skin musk. Later wear they do give off a slight Depraved feel, but cleaner. I'm just aching for a different scent I guess.

This is Jasmine-forward, tamed by sweet fruity musky accents. Feminine, light, bright in a diffused light kind of way, innocent, but still carrying that luper sexy-body-musk thing with it. Amazingly attractive on the right person.
