BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

White amber, coconut, white musk, oakmoss, and tobacco flower.

I love love love this! It's a smooth musky coconut with a cool edge, almost minty. It has a bit of a cologne vibe (oakmoss/tobacco flower?) which makes it more unisex than I was expecting. It doesn't feel tropical to me, unlike most coconut scents I've tried.

Lovely creamy lightly floral coconut. Reminds me of Snow White but Dia is a little softer, somehow it feels more smooth. I LOVE this scent.

This is one of those "there's something really good in here and I *know* (pleasepleaseplease)that it'll get better with age" purchases that I made when it was live. For the longest time, this scent dried down to screaming headache-inducing florals. Now that it's almost 2 years old, the headache florals are all gone. It's clean and creamy, sweet, gently floral surrounded by coconut love. I adore it. It's what Snow White should be.

I've wanted this since I started collecting BPAL, because of the coconut. I read the reviews later on and dismissed it based on the reviews that it was floral and it had too many "white" notes that usually equal soap on me. Plus, it was impossible to find.

Oakmoss makes it a little cologney in the bottle, but I can tell it's going to be good. On skin, I can see the comparison to Snow White. There's that same cool, non-tropical comforting coconut note but it's more of a creamy citrus musk version of Snow White for Summer. I'm surprised how refreshing the white amber and musk are. I'm in love with Dia.

This is beautiful!

It isn't overly strong on my skin and when I first tested it my skin ate it up very quickly but it smells so good I don't mind multiple applications.

After applying I can mainly smell the coconut and the oakmoss. The oakmoss is tempering the super sweet coconut and keeping it creamy rather than suntan lotion-y.

After drying down the coconut is more at the forefront but the rest of the notes are creating the cool, tropical aquatic vibe I'm getting. I get a tiny whiff of powdery white amber, but somehow it works in this scent.

Where I live temps can get up to 120 degrees so this will be perfect for those summer months.

A stunning coconut. Light, smooth, very vaguely floral.

I love the white amber and musk in this, it ends up being a very "white" scent without the strong floral I associate with whiteness.

Now, if only my skin liked coconut...

Brings to mind an ethereal, gentle and luscious fairy queen draped in white silks. Gorgeous! This is indeed similar to Snow White (without the weird plastic) and also in the same family as Aphrogenes and Loosening of the Obi, but it's not as heavily floral or boozy. Just the right amount of sweetness.

Dia seemed too focused on the floral aspect directly on the skin, but it quickly settled into a soft white musk and realistic coconut. The amber adds a breath of sweetness while the oakmoss provides just enough of an edge that it doesn't feel candyish. The tobacco flower turns into something really amazing the longer it sits. I loved it in Ginny the Reaper of Vengeance, but while it was drowned out in the booze there, here you can really pick out the amazing vanillic sweetness.

This is pretty much a perfect vanilla/coconut cushioned in white musk. I would probably enjoy it even more without the musk since it ever so slightly deepens things (it ends up feeling more "hazy" than "airy" if that makes sense), but that's just a personal preference. I still think it's fantastic and hoard-worthy, like being lost in an opulent dream. For Labyrinth fans, I bet Sarah smelled like this all decked out in that pristine white princess dress while dancing in Jareth's ballroom.

I adore coconut, musk, and amber, so I really hope to love this, but tobacco flower sometimes turns to single note on me....and it's all I can smell in the bottle. Worried!

Wet: A blast of tobacco flower. But as it warms, the coconut and musk come out, and it's sexy musky-sweet goodness! The tobacco flower is there, but not overtaking everything like I feared. The other notes hold their own. It's a lighter scent. I keep adding a dab more to get the full effect.

Dry: The throw is a lot of tobacco flower still, but it's not as sharp as it sometimes is, and I quite enjoy it in this. I also get the musk and coconut, which round it out really nicely. This is a subtly sensual scent. Not really sure how "me" it is, but I'll wear it for a full day before I make any decisions.

The start of this is a bright white clean scent, primarily the tobacco flower and white musk. The coolness of these notes contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the amber. As it wears these fade leaving a glorious white amber tinged with coconut and just a breath of the tobacco flower.
