… Her ofrenda is a bounty of melons and grapes, strewn with the petals of the flowers of motherhood, draped with sea mosses.

In the bottle - Soft pulpy gala melons

Wet on me - Tart green fruits

Dry on me - It disappeared completely

Overall - Didn't last on my skin

In the imp: Mostly melon, but something stinks to me. I think I'm going to be a little wary about this one.

Wet on skin: Melon with a hint of strawberry bubblegum... O_o

Dried down: Light, light melon.

Throw: Very light - certainly can't fight off Jack, but that's ok, since I seem to like Jack better anyway.

Verdict: *** I've never really been fond of melons (except watermelon), so it makes sense that this wasn't for me. I'm just glad that stink I got in the beginning didn't amount to anything!

In the imp/bottle it's juicy, wet watermelon bubblegum.

On my skin its juicy, wet, watermelon bubblegum  hints of the salty sea and soft florals. As it drys the florals come out more. Love.

In the imp: Exactly as described! This is gorgeously summery & bright! The melon & grape notes are the dominant notes here.

Wet on skin: Almost identical to how it smells in the imp at first, then after a few moments a really pretty aquatic note takes over. It's now a completely different scent to how it started out, but it's absolutely beautiful!

Dry on skin: Sort of a mix between how it smelled straight after I applied it & a few seconds after applying it. It's nice though & my husband seems to really like it!

After a few hours: There's a bit of a saltwater/sea overtone to it now & something that's almost soapy, but the base smell is the same as when newly dried.

Verdict: This ends VERY differently to how it starts on me & does get a bit strange, but overall it's a nice, summery scent!

I got a frimp of this as fruity smells are generally not my thing. But I loved the honeydew in 51 so I thought this one might turn out.

In the imp it is very sweet and melon-y.

On wet it is watermelon bubblegum.

As it dries it goes back to a sweet, honeydew with a cucumber-like coolness. There's a little bit of the tart grape and the deep moss to take an edge of the sweetness. The more it settles the more I like it, though it's not something I would reach for very often. A perfect refreshing late spring, early summer scent.

Got this in an Ebay imp lot. I generally dislike melon and grape - that being said, the moss creeps in on the drydown and makes it less melon sweetness. Still not for me, but I like how the moss comes in.

Whew, that's a slap in the face of melon! Ahh, how happy and summer-y.. I'm literally just getting only watermelon-goodness, same on my skin. :cheer:

On drydown, it goes a little warmer and a bit more chewed-bubblegum-y but still very nice. I'll be here, in the corner of my room, quietly humming to myself while rocking back and forth, contemplating whether I should get a 5ml bottle...

Bottle: First grapes, then melons, and lastly a drop of cool ocean.

Wet: Holy mother of melons! The melons romped out when I was just applying this with the wand and not trying to smell it yet. Also, white grapes, supporting the melons. I don't get anything else at this stage. The notes say there are flowers and I believe them, but these melons are taking no prisoners.

Dry: The frothy ocean and sea spray smell comes back in. This note is especially restful after the melon nose-punch.

Well, on days when you're in a melon mood, Yemaya's your girl.

Lab frimp.

Straight up - MELON. Interestingly enough though, the sea moss and flowers come through enough to keep this melon from turning strangely fleshy. (I've definitely had weird, fleshy, almost salty melon in a scent before. Not bad - just strange.) Over time, the melon starts to fade a little and the sea moss and flowers take the edge off. I can actually see myself getting more of this for the summer.

Edit: The melon seems to have receded behind the florals, which makes it a little bit more generic. Perhaps not for me.

Wet: Candy-sweet melon. Almost like a watermelon Jolly Ranger, or something. For sure more like candy than fresh fruit, to my nose.

Dry: Stays pretty true to melon candy. It's quite pleasant, actually, a fun summer scent! I don't think it's something I would wear personally, but if you love fruity/candy scents, it's totally worth a shot.

Lab fresh imp. In the imp, it's a cool melon scent. Wet on skin, it's sharp tart melon candy. Dry, the floral notes emerge to round out the scent. A pleasant fruity floral that would be right at home in a Bath and Body Works store.

In the imp, syrupy melon mocktail! Yummy and tropical.

Once on the skin, more juicy and sweet melon and I can pick out a hint of cool green grape as well, but the florals come out to play and kind of take over. Along with the sea moss, those florals cut through the syrupy sweetness in the imp and lend the scent a fresh and delicate aquatic quality. However after about 15 mins, once the scent has settled into my skin, the perfume-y florals calm down and allow the sweet melon to come to the foreground again. Throughout the drydown I was trying to remember what this scent reminded me of and it finally came to me; in the 90's my mother used to use this watermelon scented sun screen from The Body Shop that I absolutely loved the smell of and this scent is a dead ringer for that. Very pretty, very tropical, and very Summery. Medium throw with low staying power, so a second or third application throughout the day may be necessary but for a scent this gorgeous and nostalgic for me, I don't mind. A 5ml bottle is in my future!

This is like a cantaloupe that's been seeded and filled with red grapes. It's sweet and reminds me of summer when it's all fresh produce and the melons are super ripe. The only thing that would make it more nostalgic would be a pinch of salt, which is really the best way to enjoy melons. I think I'll get to wear this a lot in the spring so that I can gear up for summer.

"Ooh, pretty," was my first reaction to Yemaya. It's sweet honeydew with a little floral and rounds into melon candy (one swap partner sent little green melon hard candies that tasted just like this smells). No aquatic soapiness on me. Fun, summery, girlish -- this would make a terrific gateway BPAL for my preteen niece.

A strong and almost overwhelming blast of melons at first, but it soon chills out to slightly lighter melon and a bit more perfumey. This is delicate and sparkly, and will be perfect for springtime!

Rich, lush melons that fade into a more candy-like dry down. The floral appears and melds with the candy scent. It fades quickly on my skin. I’m going to keep my imp for the summer months and try it in my scent locket.

In the imp, I mostly smell the melon and grape notes with a little moss.

On me, I mainly get honeydew melon, green grapes, and flowers (which I am not able to identify) with a little bit of moss that seems to gain strength with wear. Sometimes I feel like my skin chemistry runs away with moss notes, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. It's an almost candy-like fruity floral, with the moss stepping in to stop it from being too candy-like and sweet.

I think this is a pleasant scent that would be nice to wear during the warmer months, and I'm glad that I got a chance to try it! I think I prefer Twinkle, Twinkle Little Bat over this one, though (which also has melon and grape notes).

Wet: Juicy melon, and a borderline-soapy aquatic note(assuming the sea moss). There's a very light floral note as well, but it's more of a background note.

I'm not gonna lie.. this kind of smells like my honeydew-scented Secret deodorant. Minus the floral note.

Dry: More or less the same as the wet stage, except the borderline-soapy aquatic note.. is now just a soapy aquatic note. (... Plus I can't get the deodorant connection out of my head now.)

Worth trying if you're looking for a juicy, fresh melon scent! I figure this will just depend on how your skin deals with the sea moss note.

In the imp: Cantaloupe and red grape -- fresh, real red grape, not grape candy.

On my skin:

Wet, it's continued melon and grape, though since it's not overly sweet, I wouldn't be surprised if there was something cutting the sugary fruit smell. As it dries, I can pick out some kind of floral in the skin scent; it's sort of a tinkly feeling over the fruity base. Right now, the fruit still dominates the scent's throw. Given time, I begin to detect something I perceive as ever-so-slightly dusty that might well be the moss note. On me, this is well in the background, only detectable close to my skin, and is probably what's keeping the fruits from going cloying.

On me, this is a skin-close scent with fairly low throw. And while it's a perfectly nice scent that seems to behave well with my skin chemistry, it's probably just not my personal preference.

In the imp, it is MELON! On the skin, it is still quite melon, and what little throw it has is mostly the melon note, but sniffed close to the skin the flowers and mosses are JUST detectable. A lovely, refreshing scent for summertime.
