Anthelion

Recommended Posts

Overcomes poverty, illness, and bad luck. Drives off despair and grief, and enables you to find hope and joy in life again.

I had a nightmarish day yesterday. This morning I had to deal with some of the aftereffects, and I remembered that I had an untested decant of Anthelion.

As so many have said above, the smell of this oil alone is comforting: lavender and clove that blend together with a certain creaminess. It reminds me of a very old house, where the linens are stored with lavender to keep them fresh, and on the kitchen table there's a bowl of clove-studded oranges. I love old houses, and I think that particular memory comes from childhood tours of an eighteenth-century house near where I grew up. It's the first place I remember smelling lavender.

Anyway, Anthelion works. All day, while I was having necessary conversations, I felt calmer and much less tense. I had a real sense of "Okay, I'll get through this": much more hopeful and positive than I felt yesterday. What's more, while the situation is not yet resolved, it looks as if the resolution will be more positive than I had hoped.

Anthelion is going on my bottle list. After today, I'm convinced it's a good oil to have around when I need it.

Mental impression: light through a reddish pink gem stone.

Scent: there's something about this that reminds me of I think Doves Heart. There's also a hint of whatever makes Hod smell metallic to me. I'm guessing there's clove, carnation.

I've only just used this so I can't post any significant findings other than it seems very relaxing. I've been a bit stressed today, then went really tired. I'm now more mentally alert but my body is melting. Very happy.

Edited to remove lavender as I'm not sure it's in here. It's hard to get a good idea of this, very close up there's an almost violet vibe going on. I really like it!

Something between my nose and my skin chemistry turns this into a very strange scent, because I get baby powder and vinyl gloves. (No, I don't understand it either. No one else around me smelled vinyl, so I think this might've just been my nose playing tricks on me.)

Boy howdy, does this oil work! I had a bad depressive episode last week and needed to pull out of the pit of despair and do a lot of very difficult work-related tasks this week. I used this oil on my forehead and wrists twice a day, focusing for a minute each time on letting go of the lingering negative emotions. I was able to be calm and get things done, and I'm starting to be hopeful that I caught my SAD early enough this year.

If I could only choose one TAL for the rest of my life, it would be Anthelion. I would even forgo all my BPAL with the exception of Whitechapel if I had to (though I’m glad I don’t.) Anthelion is just that special.

Anthelion has helped get me through some dark days and tough times and makes me feel like the universe has just given me a big, comforting hug to try and soothe me of my worries. I often use this before going to sleep.

I was going through a period where I was being bullied at work on a daily basis by someone who felt threatened by me and was determined that they would drive me out. Not a good way to start a new job, especially when you’ve moved away from your family and friends. :(

I used Anthelion daily to anoint myself and an amethyst crystal I kept in my pocket as a talisman. As the situation got more severe, I used it on a conjure bag I wore when at work. I ended up using STFU in a ritual on the bully’s keyboard and chair, and kept myself grounded, determined not to be driven out of my job, even when in the depths of despair. (Unknown to me, the management were on a path to “performance managing” the bully out of his job, but I didn’t find this out until much later.) Anthelion gave me the strength to hang in there, even when I was so distressed and wanted to quit. It gave me hope and support, which I sorely needed. (I finally did leave the job, but on a good note and on my terms, as my husband and I were moving interstate.)

On top of all that, Anthelion smells amazing! The only things I can pick out are lavender and possibly clove. Like cinnamonmel noted, I am also reminded of Dove’s Heart (which I used for similar soothing purposes before I acquired Anthelion) but where Dove’s Heart is a soft white floral, Anthelion is creamy lavender and spice, with something that contains a bit of menthol.

If White Light didn’t do it for you, or even if it does, get some.

Seriously. Do yourself a favour: run, don’t walk to get yourself some Anthelion.

Thank you so much Beth for creating it and putting it out there to share with us.

This is like a wonderful warm hug.

A lot of days I have a hard as time getting the fuck out of bed due to pain, the fact I am emotionally exhausted from the BS I deal with.

This helps me get up and handle my shit!

It's also great for getting rid of my headaches and giving me that boost I need.

Now, let's move on to scent. It's lovely! I have no idea what is in it, but I would wear it and only it as a perfume anytime.

I love combining this with Lionheart. It's wonderful. So powerful! I light candles with them often!

Thank you so much JazzieCazzie for passing these on to me and Nate!! We love them so!

This is genuinely like liquid Xanax. I feel intoxicated and a little bit swoony—having just got my bottle and not being able to resist trying it out immediately. I tend to use ritual oils with intention but… well, not much ritual, admittedly. Being made with powerful botanicals, I mostly want their own energy to alter and/or amplify mine. So I just dabbed it on.

I’ve been going through it physically and mentally for the last week or so, with the end rather far in the distance, and a lot of my usual coping mechanisms or, tbh, a nice edible, are not options for me at the moment. I didn’t know I’d be in this place when I ordered my bottle, but maybe the universe knew! I figured it was generally a good idea to snag a bottle because I’m a generally anxious and depressed person. What a gift this is going to be. The power of this is tremendous and it needs to be used carefully, I think, not casually, but I’m so glad I’m going to have this absolutely magical potion by my side. If it also helps with money stuff, that would be wonderful, honestly. But the mood effects alone are astonishing.

Scent-wise, it truly is everything all at once, and hard to describe. It smells like flowers (definitely like the carnation note in Morocco), but also spices (again, a bit like Morocco), but also herbs I can’t identify, and something gourmand, maybe—a bit of vanilla candy? A hint of a really herbal, leafy eucalyptus in there? Like the way actual eucalyptus leaves smell, not the essential oil. It’s wonderful. I don’t know that this is a scent I would have picked if I simply saw a description of it. I’m generally an incense/resin/wood/spice person, with a deep fear of florals being too strong for me, and candy or gourmand smells being annoyingly edible at best or nauseating at worst. But somehow, this works. Maybe that’s part of the magic too?
