Queen of Clubs

Recommended Posts

A modern incarnation of the Queen of Pentacles, or Disks, the Queen of the Thrones of Earth. Nurturing, warm and kind, she is practical, quiet and domesticated, and yet still ambitious, and possessed of the sensual lushness of Mother Earth. Soft, deep earth notes with myrrh, amber, pomegranate, dark incense, red currant, rose and vanilla.

Wet: Bitter floral incense. Yuck.

First on: Unchanged...

Dry: Uh...perfumed weed? Too earthy. :x

Wet in bottle: sweet earth.

Wet on skin: lovely sweet earth, with a faint floral note.

Drydown: The floral is a touch stronger, mixing more with the earth notes.

Dry: I feel like I'm in a freshly turned rose bower, but the rose is not as heady, there are other notes keeping it from going HELLO ROSE. It's such a lovely scent.

I'm so glad I hunted down a bottle! :D

When first applied, QoS gives me a sweet red fruity incense with a bit of clean damp earth underneath it. It's not a nasty dirt, it's clean and lovely really.

Once it dries down, the pom and currant give away to lovely rose. The dirt note fades just a little bit into the background, but it's still there giving the perfume leverage.

Dry now, it's beautiful. The rose isn't too "rosey" and the pom and currants sweeten up the smokey myrrh making one of the most beautiful incense blends out there!

This one is an amazing treat and I love it. It makes me feel beautiful and exotic.

Wet: Red currant...fruity pomegranate with rose and a hint of vanilla.

Dry: Red fruity incense with a hint of dirt. Not earth...fresh soil. The fruit and incense are the main stays but the earth keeps switching out with Myrrh. This is the strangest scent I have ever tried But I do love it. I am so glad that I have some.

My witch sent me this imp to test/try ^_^

Imp: smells like my bottle of La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente, and that's not a bad thing.

Wet:The floral is sharper then bella donna della, and the watery note is absent. It doesn't smell as sweet either.I can smell the rose and a bit of tartness from the pome.

Dry: I can really smell the current as it dries, and the earthy background holding it in place and giving it a dark edge. On me this smells like Bella's older sister.A more refined and in command version.

I have reviewed this before...I will do this again properly as I can now slather to my hearts content. This is my beloved Earth Phoenix, with hints of creamy vanilla, dirt, fruit, myrrh, and light incense. This blend is really gorgeous and I am so glad that I now have a bottle of my very own. :wub2:

Wow. While I'm sure Queen of Clubs was good when it was brand new, I think the nearly 7 intervening years have probably done nothing but improve it. Every listed note is present (I can really pick out each one, which is unusual), yet it's all so well-blended by now that unless you're really concentrating on it it comes off as just one big totally mysterious scent without any note or set of notes dominating. It's smoky-sweet and earthy with dark red fruits, really mellow vanilla and just a bit of damp rose. The tartness of pomegranate and the sharpness of rose are thoroughly absorbed and softened by the resins and vanilla, but they're still there serving to perk things up. Overall, it's pretty dark and brooding. Sexy in a very overtly luxurious and primal way. I wouldn't wear this just anywhere.

It reminds me a lot of Penny Dreadful (if I had to recommend a GC equivalent, that would be it), somewhat of Zombi, and a tiny bit of Crypt King, but it's really gorgeous and not exactly like anything else I have.

I can't believe I finally finally got my hands on a bottle of this. Pomegranate scents are some of my favorites, and this is no joke.

The pomegranate rose and vanilla are the most prominent. It's a similar variety to crypt queen, but still different. I don't get a lot of incense which makes me a bit disappointed, but there's myrhh and something earthy like dirt and mosses rounding it out. It's lucious, warm, not overpoweringly sweet from the pomegranate. The vanilla is almost creamy. I'm so glad to have a bottle of this in my collection!

I don't know how to describe this scent even now, but I knew I had to have it and paid a pretty penny for it. Many of my friends have remarked that if I were a tarot card, I would be the Queen of Pentacles... and I think this scent perfectly captures both the card and my personality. This is a sweet, edgy fragrance: fruity, earthy, resinous, slightly spicy—but tempered by a demur creaminess. This is both a woman down-to-earth and demanding recognition simply for existing and making life easier for everyone she knows. :)

YMMV with this one though. I get a lot of compliments from women when I wear this, but men have told me I smell like potpourri (which makes sense re: Queen of Pentacles, I guess!).
