BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

A Latin word that means to sigh or draw a deep breath, that also suggests longing, desire, yearning, and a passionate wish. Ylang ylang with white plum, white orchid, jasmine, calla lily and lily of the valley.

Delicate dew-covered lilies!! And then there's a nice layer of ylang ylang laced through the lilies and around them, almost blending in. It's a nice, soft scent that's very pleasing and has pretty good throw.

In the imp, I get lots of ylang-ylang, with a hint of plum and lilies in the background.

On me, it's quite similar to what it smelled like in the vial initially. It's sort of like a reverse "Kitsune-Tsuki" for me - lots of bright floral and less fruit. Upon drydown, the plum comes out a lot more and the florals blend together in the background. Now it's like a less bubblegummy "Frumious Bandersnatch" on me. The plum goes on to dominate the scent for a while once it's completely dry, but after about an hour, the florals reach their second wind and come out a little more again. After about two hours, it's primarily plum.

This is quite nice - more lady-like than "Kitsune-Tsuki" (which strikes me as the perfect scent for a young teenager with its bright fizzy feeling), less odd than "Frumious Bandersnatch". A "fancy night out" kind of scent. I like it, but my absolutely favorite in terms of plummy scents is currently "Bensiabel", so I don't know when, if ever, I'll get a bottle of this. The imp stays with me, though.

In the imp: Lovely creamy floral! I can definitely smell the jasmine and lilies.

Wet: Pretty much the same as another lily/jasmine combo I've tried. It's nice though.

Dry: Pretty and summery.

Sweet, floral and girly. I'm hoping to find something that fits this description that doesn't underwhelm me but perhaps its the genre itself that underwhelms me. Sweet and powdery, nothing special.

Imp: jasmine, but not overwhelming

Wet: jasmine, or is that stephanotis?

Dry: light jasmine perfume

This is a nice jasmine scent. I was happy that the jasmine wasn't very aggressive. I didn't pick up any of the other notes.

Floral scent heavy on the lily and not particularly memorable on me. At least there's no jasmine note-of death though!

Smells like very SWEET grape and pear in the IMP?? On me it’s very pretty. The jasmine and the lily the strongest. I have hints of juicy plum coming through. This is a gorgeous summery scent, reminding me of hot summer days walking through gardens. Not something I would buy a bottle of because it’s a tad too floral on me, but lovely nevertheless.

Sigh. Jasmine, jasmine, jasmine. That is all I smell. Evil. This isn't a nice jasmine either. So strong it is headache inducing.

In imp: light floral

Wet: Jasmine and Ylang ylang dominate with a mess of florals playing in the background

Drydown: Very pleasant floral scent, heavy on the jasmine.

I like this well enough, but it doesn’t stand out. There are other light floral blends that I like better.

I think I might lol so hard that I cry, no wonder I am so grossed out over Suspiro, it is ALL MY FLORAL ENEMIES in one perfume.

Baby powder in the imp (lily) and jasmine death on my skin. It's not as sharp as most jasmines are; it's like the other flowers are holding it back. But it's still not pleasant. It's sort of like . . . I think this might smell good to other people if I make them sniff me, but to me it is horrible.

One day there will be a jasmine blend that I will love, and it will be a forbidden love, and we will play a Taylor Swift song as we frolic through damp fields together at midnight, when no one else can see us, but it will not be this blend.

This is a very gentle scent. Light, sweet, florals that can totally be a "go to" for any situation. The lily is not overpowering (whew) and neither is the jasmine. I equate it to a Pannychis with a pure sugary instead of a currant fruity spice background. Mmmmm!

One of the two frimps with my first order that I absolutely adored. I could sniff this all day – gorgeous and sweet in the bottle, and that carried over to my skin. It dries a bit... dry, I guess, particularly on my wrists, for some reason, with a clean soapy kind of feel, but it's been constantly pleasantly floral on my neck, which I catch a whiff of every once in a while. Will definitely be getting a bottle.

This blend makes me feel a little queasy when I smell it. Very overwhelming with the jasmine and lily. So far it's had a pretty decent throw and good wear length, but I'm going to wash this off ASAP. Death by flowers. Yuck.

I think I am where so many others are. This is strong floral, which I believe to be the jasmine. While I like jasmine, it is just too strong for me in this mix. When it dries down and softens out, I get a floral powdery smell. It is just difficult to make it through the strong florals, so I will have to pass on this one.

A fruity floral, with a bit of a citrus tang to it. That must be the plum. This is one that keeps drawing me back to sniff and sniff again.

Starts out as a fresh jasmine and ylang ylang. When it dries down it gets quite sweet and I get a hint of pear, the jasmine has melded with the rest of the notes into a sensual floral bouquet. None of the florals overpowers the others in this blend. Very lush and feminine.

I'm not very familiar with a bunch of these notes, so let's see how this goes. :X

Imp: Lilies, with the.. almost hollowness of the plum, with another, warmer floral around the edges. By process of elimination, I'm guessing it's the ylang ylang.

It's not generically floral smelling at all. It has more warmth and body to it than that, without the powder undertones. Sort of what I would expect a white, big petalled flower filled garden to smell like on a warm summer day.

High hopes for this one, as it seems to belong to the same rich, bodied family that Desdemona and Tiger Lily do.

Wet: Plum jumps out on application, with what almost smells like pear along with it. o.o

Shortly after application, the lilies come back to dominate the scent, then within minutes morph to almost solely jasmine. This is one hell of a rushing scent. It can't seem to make up it's mind. ._.;

15 minutes in, and it seems to have settled, for now, into a jasmine, with a very little bit of citrusy plum poking out at the edges.

All these stages are a little flat and boring compared to what was going on in the imp.

Dry: It's still not behaving at all.

40+ mins in, and it is citrusy. Reminds me of white tea, with a little floral warmth.

50+, and it has regained a little bit of the lily's warmth, and lost the white tea feel. It is swinging towards generic floral.

I'm not sure how I feel about this - it didn't live up to my imp expectations, but I can't stop sniffing it out of sheer curiousity.

It just keeps endlessly morphing on me. I guess it is a good scent for days where I just can't make up my mind what I want to wear. :X

Bought a cobalt bottle off of eBay, so probably aged since 2005-2006? This is DELICIOUS. :wub2: I'm really glad I got a whole bottle of it! Then again I'm a sucker for ylang ylang. I get mostly ylang ylang and lily sweetened up by the plum. And I am deliciously happy with how I smell right now! :D
