BPAL Madness!

Strange! My experience is more akin to the previous baby powder/amber reviews. I received it as a frimp from the lab. As a frequent bourbon drinker in a past life, and mint julep maker and consumer, I was very curious.

In the imp it smelled like a brown men's cologne. On my skin I'm getting mainly powdery amber and something vaguely like a wood and oak moss. I can't identify any mint it might be mixed with the sweeter sugary powdery end of the amber. On v close sniff, one might interpret as like a dark woodsy light smoked oak barrel aged type smell. Slightly leathery.

Not the over the top maple syrup mint boozy monster I expected and that some other people experienced unfortunately. But definitely not bad! Autumn smells, recommend it you like medium complex amber that's not too sweet. TOTALLY a hot dad or foxy office smell.

My skin totally ate this up in 15 minutes though and it's almost completely gone, which was another big surprise. :-0

This was one of the first bpals I wad interested in but i didnt get an imp until recently. I do love it but it is intensely powdery. Whiskeyish masculine smelling powder. No mint that I can really smell. Really long lasting. I love it but it is very powdery. Not sweet at all for something with sugar.

As I constantly say, I enjoy scents that seem drinkable and refreshing, so a mint julep in a vial seemed right up my alley.

Unfortunately, this is not drink-like.  It begins as something like vetiver, which dissolves into a cup of moderately sweetly scented dust.  It lingers for a long time, but do I really want it to?

I never really bothered with this one because after some...times with bourbon shortly after I graduated college, the smell alone usually made my stomach churn. However I was generously gifted a large box of imps, and this was one of them. I am pleasantly surprised! I love this mint julep! The bourbon doesn't have that twinge that makes me sick, and the mint is SO refreshing, sugar isn't too sweet. It does wear down to be a little powdery, which usually isn't my thing but I'm really digging this. Not drink-like at this point but still nice.

Wet (in the bottle and on): pure Tabu, the perfume my aunt used to drench herself in before going to the dive bar... which I find appropriate.

Drying: generic women's perfume, starting to go powdery. Like the blonde at the bar next to me has given up on finding someone to go home with, and is now giving me sage womanly advice.

An hour in, the bourbon starts to pop up and it's warmer, friendly. Jack & real vanilla coke (not the flavored bottled stuff), with tiniest hint of bright green herb.

I don't get mint at all. This is a nice scent, but not a standout on me.

Received this as a frimp on an order. It's a nice, simple, and easy to wear perfume, but nothing really all that groundbreaking (not that it has to be.) This might be a good one for people who are afraid of some of the darker boozy scents.

In Bottle: Sugary and sweet with a boozy kick. The mint is more of a sweet mint than a mentholated kind of mint.

On Skin: Booziness tones down a bit, but the bourbon is definitely the star of the show here. The mint becomes more prominent and freshens up the whole vibe. I would say this leans more masculine.

Dry Down: Soft and sweet. Clings to the skin. Slightly antique smelling

At first I get... mint! Mint with a bit of sugar.

Still wet on my skin, the bourbon is coming out. It's like the bottom of your whiskey glass when it gets all watered down from the ice.

At first I was thinking this might be nice to wear to work, but now I'm thinking it smells too much like I just came from the bar!

Dried down, the sugar comes back out. It's light and fun and I don't hate it.
