BPAL Madness!
Penance

Crossroads

Recommended Posts

I was a little leery of trying this one based off of the notes but I had to give it a shot and I’m not upset that I did.

in the imp: some unidentifiable florals mixed with something green and dusty smelling, I’m guessing the moss. There’s a hint of dirt but nowhere near as strong as Burial.

Wet: the dirt is much stronger and the florals are still present, but it’s as if I’ve completely forgotten how to smell flowers and buried my nose in the pot instead of sniffing the flower directly. The jasmine is starting to make itself known, but there seem to be some other flowers there that I can’t put my finger on. Just a wisp of incense in the background.

Dry: my first test (just a dab) dried down to a light, pleasant floral with a touch of incense. Every now and then I’d get a pop of jasmine, but it was fleeting. I reapplied a bit more before bed to see how it dries down when I almost slather. The florals are quite a bit stronger with the second application, so I’ll need to remember to be careful about how much I put on and try to Goldilocks it next time.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for jasmine! In most blends jasmine will immediately and loudly announce itself on me, and Crossroads holds true to form. Anything interesting - earthy and herbal notes - drops into the background of The Jasmine Show.

i get strong florals from this, heavy on the jasmine and honeysuckle at first. settles to a strong but well blended florally musk. more floral than green or graveyard dirt for me. as a floral lover this is lovely.

Testing an aged imp, approx 3 years

Initial blast of catbox jasmine. The catbox part burns off and something sugary replaces it, fortunately, leaving me with sugared white flowers.

Gradually, something bitter slides in. I guess it's the dirt/moss. The later stages of this morph into a pile of decaying herbs. Overall it morphs and tells a story, but it's not one I'm particularly interested in.

When it comes to incense + florals I'd stick with Event Horizon, or for pure florals, Twilight.
