I have these in 48 space and 12 space and I luuuurve them. They are a pleasing shape and very solidly constructed. I carry both boxes around a fair amount and I love the dividing sections which keep everything upright and in place. Thank you too, to whoever in this thread mentioned them!
The outsides of the boxes do have a satin finish. But with a little fine-grade sandpaper you should be able to dress them up however you'd like.
Mine just came it! Its fantastic! 9 imps easy in a single block! Im sure I could squeeze 10, but, Im pretty happy with 9.
On a side note, does anyone have a strange ame for their storage?
Mine is 'The Casket of Wonderful Smells"
...Im a dork. lol
Then I'm a dork too, LOL! I named the box my daughter made for my LE best beloved "The Crown Jewels,"

while the little rose box I use to keep my favorite leather blends is "The Rose Garden,"

and then of course, the box for my Tarot oils is called "The Fortune Teller;"

Here is the other 10ml box, which I haven't decided what to call yet:

Something like "Dear to my Heart" or "Heart's Ease" or something equally schmaltzie, I imagine.
I haven't really named the GC box, nor have I taken a picture of it yet - it's sort of plain compared to the others, but I like it. And of course, I think I want to come up with a name for the Halloweenie box and the Yulie box, but that's in the works after I decorate them, anyway.
