I have no affiliation with this project, nor do I know this person or anyone involved with this but a link to it showed up in my Twitter feed this morning and I thought some other folks might be interested in it too :)

It's a Kickstarter project and if you pledge $60, (and I believe the pledge goal must be met as well - I am not super familiar with the details of Kickstarter) you will receive an imp box that stores 50 imps and is made so that you can see the labels.

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6132/5982311050_78941f3725_m.jpghttp://farm7.static.flickr.com/6133/5981750743_7f8d9e0292_m.jpg

I love that you can see the labels and am leaning towards buying a box and then covering/painting the outside with...something ;)

In case international folks are curious, poster has responded to me (aside from there on the blog entry) and said that shipping international would be $34 extra for the box.

Add me to the list of CaudaPavonis box owners! And proud of it!

This is the lid. It's so hard to photograph as it's a fairly dark picture, but it's a library with ladders and candles. As my life seems to revolve around the magic of books, and the fact that I'm in grad school to be a school librarian, and I'd like to surround my life with them, I thought it made the most sense to do something with books. The detail is magnificent and I love how the candles legitimately look like they are burning.

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6124/6005996217_846377626a.jpg
She also painted my name on the side for me, as a personal touch, since it's not like I'll ever sell it. I found a font online and she managed to replicate it splendidly!

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6133/6006539352_03fde5df82.jpg
And here's the inside. It looks like it'll hold roughly ~80 bottles, which is way more than enough! I am getting some labels in the mail any day now so I can know what the bottles are without having to paw through them. The top box on the side is for keeper/memorable imps and decants. The second and third are for sales. I'm also going to purchase some aquarium gravel, I think, and use it to hold the little boogers up.

Pleased as punch!

I used to keep mine in a coffin shaped purse I had in high school. I'm switching over to a decorative wooden box my mother got from Guatemala but I have a feeling that its one inch deep, 5 x 8 space is going to fill past capacity in the near future!

I have a nice cigar box into which all of my BPAL must fit - otherwise my obsession might get out of hand!

I should be having some ammo boxes come in today! They were sent via UPS sooo I have no idea when they will arrive! Once I've gotten my imps organized I may take a picture of my storage solution to put up here. Currently I have a sturdy paper box with a really lovely design on it that holds all of my bottles/roller bottles. It holds 64 bottles and may be 20 or so roller bottles which is a pretty nice number for me. The man is going to build me something nicer to store my oils in sometime in the future which will be super nice! I've also got this metal lunch box type container that is pretty cute which holds my swap items (decants/imps and bottles) along with decanting supplies, extra wand caps, and empty roller bottles. And once my ammo boxes get here they will hold my decants and imps! Yay for organization and storage.

Also all my bottles have labels on their caps; the text on the labels is color coded: green for GC, orange for Halloweenies, blue for Yules, pink for Lupercalia, black for other LE and BPTP and unreleased etc, grey for Lunacies, and brown for e-tailers! I wish I didn't have to put labels, but really it makes my life that much easier, and now that I have them I've come to really like them! The color coding makes me happy :)

I covered a big priority mail box (12" x 14" or so) with exotic paper and BPAL stickers. First, I cut open the long sides so it has a lid that opens and closes. I made dividers on the inside with pieces of cardboard so it's more or less organized.

I discipline myself by allowing only as much as it will hold. :violin:

I store my oils in my dark, windowless, cool walk-in-closet. Which I rarely ever use because I never put my clothing away D:

Anyway, due to the fact that it seems to be a perfume storage, rather than functional miniature room, I have taken to calling it my Aging Cellar.

i keep all of my bpals in cigar boxes. i buy them at the liquor store- they always have shelves full of very nice, empty cigar boxes for like $2 each. i currently have... um... 8 boxes. they are categorized like this: gc imps, le decants, favorite bottles, bottles that need to be reviewed/tested, back-up bottles and then all the rest.

When I was an "imp-only" BPALler, I came up with this solution for my imps, which I still use:

http://www.bpal.org/...ost__p__1842518

But I started to collect a lot of bottles, and now have more than 20 (I know, I'm still a piker in some circles). I picked up a "treasure chest" shaped box at Michael's, and created a few segregated rows using wire from a coat hanger. I have room for four rows of up-to-seven bottles, and on the other side of the chest I keep empty imps and droppers for decanting.

(The droppers have been used for a specific oil, cleaned with alcohol, and labelled so each one will only be used with a specific oil, even though they have been cleaned inside and out).

I have a little gypsy bag to keep swappable imps.

I have a cigarette case which holds 10 imps or so for travelling, I can select a handful of imps and take them on a trip.

What I *don't* have is a nice, segregated storage for my favorites. I don't apply perfume oil from my bottles -- I decant them into an imp. And I want to keep my bottle-decanted imps (as those are the ones I want to use most of the time) separate from my main imp box. I've morphed from "want to try lots and lots of scents" to "I'll still try stuff but want to use the ones I know I like more of the time"

I guess that's my fall project....

I just found something awesome. If I ever decide to put my BPAL on a wall, I'll get one of these. It's a shame it's clear and doesn't have a cover, so maybe this would be a much better solution for displaying empty bottles for the label art. Either way, it made me laugh that I saw something for nail polish and my first thought was BPAL storage!

I've yet to do a proper full photo etc of my BPAL side table (it's an IKEA rolling side table thing), but while my actual boxes have not changed a whole lot, I think I'm generally in a good, this-works-for-my-everyday-use position as to organizing my beloved oils.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/95416/bpal-labels/oldlabel-sml.png

This is my main BPAL box (click to enlarge!). This is what I open every morning. I should move out the imps (two stories high now, egads) somewhere else; but while I don't have enough roller bottles to house usable amounts of all my blends yet, this will do.

Along the top, you might notice are some colored dot labels. I believe it was Ellebelle who gave me the idea for this! Green are exclusives (forum, retail, event, etsy exclusives), yellow are LEs, blue are SEs (GCs that are more expensive), red are discons, and white are GCs. I have these labels for the big 5mls, but I couldn't find sufficient smaller labels for my roller bottles (all in blue).

Last night I had gone to a big art store to find wrapping materials (and I found a few organza bags! yay!), and I also found 12mm colored labels! So last night, I went to work on relabelling my roller bottles. And of course, I had to draw a little too. I drew out labels for all my current bottle scents, even though I don't have any roller bottles for some (either due to not enough roller bottles, or not having any of the scent other than a sniffie).

So--ta-da!

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/95416/bpal-labels/relabelled-sml.png

I have since put them in some semblance of order, similar colors in the same general area.

If anyone's interested in seeing all the labels I wrote/drew out last night (big images are like 2000px wide! small are 500px):

Discons: big, small
Exclusives: big, small
General catalog: big, small
Limited editions: big, small - also see the pink alien claw of doom!
Special eds/unimpables: big, small

Hi all!
I bought these wonderful coffin cabinets from The Vampyr Within (Eros here at the forum), who makes them. I've had the smaller black one for some time, but I just recently got the larger brown one and I haven't hung it on the wall or filled it yet, but I can't wait to!

WANT

I need to rope the DBF into making me something that will hold all of my bottles... I love the milling in line etsy ones but they just don't hold enough. I'd need like 10. O_o

That huge coffin looks like it would hold a lot...

Dang Ikea for discontinuing their Fira boxes.

I have considered paying $20+ for an aromatherapy storage box like this one: Aromatherapy Box on Amazon

However, I have been spending a bit too much (or not enough!?) on goodies from the lab recently, so I was looking for a cheaper option, when I remembered there is a cigar store up the street. They sell boxes for $2 and $4 each. Some of the boxes were gorgeous with beautifully ornate labels, but a lot of them were almost exactly the height of a 5ml bottle, and I didn't want to risk the top not closing. I settled for one that is more plain, but that still has a nice design.

http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j379/whataboutprom/BPAL/IMG_3762.jpg

I also have a decent solution for my imps, although they seem to be multiplying, so I will need more storage room quite soon. I found gold cardboard necklace boxes at a wholesale jewelry store. They were quite inexpensive, and the cotton backing helps keep the imps in place so they don't slide around. I just slip the boxes into a drawer and the imps stay upright and neat.

Imp Storage Boxes

I think in total I spent about $6 for my bottle box and two jewelry boxes that can each hold about 24 imps, and I like all of them well enough not to feel the need to redecorate, (I'm not the most artistically inclined person.)

Someone in this thread posted a link and mentioned an aromatherapy company based int he UK a long time ago that sold boxes...
I stumbled across it by chance, and I cant find it again, so I cant properly thank you, but if you see this, THANK YOU <3
I couldnt find any ammo boxes here because theres no guns in London! and off ebay the shipping for a small box was immense, so this was a lifesaver :D

I just ordered one of the 48 space chests. I hope its porus and unfinished wood so I can decorate it!

Heres a repost of the link, for any other newbs with restless imps floating around ^^

I lucked out a while back and found an Aussie based e/retailer that was/is selling imperfect Essential oil storage boxes (24 slots x 6mls) - they are perfect, and for only $10 a pop I couldn't resist. They fit the bill perfectly.

I'm at work so don't have a pic of my own collection, but these are the boxes in question.

I need to take a picture of my new organization "system". I've been sorting through my bottles and only keeping the ones I adore, so I've been able to fit them into a drawer organizer thingy. I think it's supposed to be for jewelry, but it works great for BPAL. I can fit 6 bottles in each compartment, including 10mls. My Formula 54 is off to the side on its own, but lives in the same drawer with the rest.

I'm currently sorting my bottles alphabetically. I'm thinking that I might sort them by mood/scent family/something once I've completed my massive retesting project. I think I only have a few bottles to go, but there are a few more that are re-retests. It's hard to let go of some of these bottles, even if they aren't OMGAMAZING on me.

I have less than 10 imps right now, so they all just cozy up together in one of the compartments.

I find the little plastic sample tubs from LUSH work a dream to hold imps upright. They fit about 12 each comfortably, 14 if you stretch it. Then I just store those in a dark box with bottles. :P

I have these in 48 space and 12 space and I luuuurve them. They are a pleasing shape and very solidly constructed. I carry both boxes around a fair amount and I love the dividing sections which keep everything upright and in place. Thank you too, to whoever in this thread mentioned them!

The outsides of the boxes do have a satin finish. But with a little fine-grade sandpaper you should be able to dress them up however you'd like.

I live in a basement that is dark, dry and cool year round where I keep my bpal in a little wooden box on my dresser. My bottles are pretty much preserved which really slows down the ageing process so I just purchased this http://www.etsy.com/...tle-vessel-with little perfume bottle that I'm planning to put Tombeur in to speed up the ageing, it's not air tight so it should help, right? I don't even care if it doesn't it's just so f-ing awesome!

I bought one of those mini trunks you can find at a Walmart in the school / shipping supply department...I think they might even have some of them in the make up department, but those are usually clear plastic. Anyway the one I have is black (I have seen them in red and silver)and has a latch and even comes with keys so you can lock it up. I keep the few bottles I have in there. Looks nice too!
