Bewildered in a Dream - A disorienting eddy of French lavender, black tea, orange blossom, sharp green tea leaf, pink flowering thorn, and a blot of inky resins. Ah. A sharp spike of lavender and I think a bit of a bitter tannic edge from the two kinds of tea. Medicinal as fuck. Orange blossom and whatever pink flowering thorn is ... damnit, my skin is eating this up too fast. Or my nose is fatigued. This stays close to the skin even though I painted it on liberally. Is inky resins actually INK? I wonder if I can make it last a little longer... it's a fascinating scent. Sweet and bitter, herbal and floral. Huh. I can barely smell it with my nose on my arm... but I think I'm actually sitting in a faint, barely discernible cloud. Come back, Dream!

Blacker Than the Raven's Wing at Midnight - Well, it sounded like it should be good but the tea turns to anise/licorice immedietly and as that begins to mellow...POOF! The raven flies away. Gone, daddy-o.

Blood Phoenix - Dragon's blood resin, helichrysum, burgundy wine grape, red musk, opoponax, red poppy, myrrh, carnation, tonka, almond, mimosa, jonquil, and neroli. I have to try every dragon blood blend because hubs is crazy about it. I like how this manages to be be creamy, spicy and fruity all at once, in a very balanced way. Red musk appears to be my friend. The florals behave without becoming fakey sweet. But lets be honest, it's all about the husband leaning in and saying "Oooh! Pretty!"

Body, Remember - Profoundly sensual. The echo of caresses: raw black coconut, ambergris accord, ambrette seed, champaca flower, and sugar cane. Insanely good. It's like a cross between Death Adder and Temple viper. Coconutty, warm, incensy, sweet without being too sweet. It's just really amazing. Although... it doesn't smell like either an hour later. Then it's a sweet, musky (?) coconut. I think I'm catching the ambergris there. Not a bottle, but good!

Burning Vulva - Vanilla-infused amber, leather, beeswax, cyclamen, oakmoss, peru balsam, orange blossom, red ginger, tonka, opoponax, myrrh, and black pepper. -*GASP* Oh my god, This imp has just been languishing at the bottom of the box and I could have been wearing it. Even worse, If I'd tested this when I got it, maybe I could have found a bottle of this. My husband said "mmm. It's like amber that doesn't do that play-doh thing on you." Yeah. Exactly. It is exactly amber that doesn't do that sad making thing. Also, it's been on me for hours and no baby powder either. THIS is what I want out of O.This is the snarled hair and dreamy eyes of a woman who has just been thoroughly loved up. *cries* And now I get to obsessively troll the board for decants of this lovely lovely perfume.

Capricorn - Golden Priapus, is that you? It smells like you're carrying a little vetiver, but other than that, it's really similar.

Carnaval Diabolique - opium smoke, lemon flower, heliotrope, tuberose, black musk, vanilla, coconut, apricot flower.
Seems to be a quick fading lemon flower SN. Retest in a few days to weeks to see if it settles down a little. I would LOVE to catch even a hint of those other notes.

Copulating Mice - I remember not liking this. Why didn't I like this? Bergamot, clove, hazelnut, pecan, lavender, tonka, and thyme. I think the only possible trouble notes are the nuts. And I do have a little furry nut thing in the background. But I think the other notes are good. Maybe age took out whatever was bothering me when I first tested it. I wonder why I didn't like it? It's pretty nice right now.

Dolce Stil Nuovo - Floral? Yes, but one that gets along with my skin. Very fresh and light and pretty. But... at the end it's a sweeter floral than I like.
Entangled - Kudzu vine, raw honey, ginger cream, and gingergrass. Dark green at first, menacing. Sweetens with honey and spicy, creamy ginger. Unique and quite wonderful.

Khajuraho- This is a blissful, euphoric blend based on an ancient Indian love potion: honey, date palm, tuberose, davana blossom, amber, white sandalwood, vanilla bean, Damask rose, and champaca flower. I like this, but not without reservation. It's sweet and very very mildly incensy. Waxy maybe. Got "meh" face from the hubs.

Noche Buena - A celebration of the Nativity: the light, uplifting incense of the Misa de Noche Buena, purple sage, and a vibrant bouquet of plumeria, chrysanthemum, tuberose, Angel's Trumpet, Mexican tiger lily, dahlia, and azucenas. Floral, green. Light and pretty. We'll see if it goes funky. Seems to stay nice - not me, but nice.

Some Strangeness in the Proportion - Rich vanilla sandalwood elegantly distorted by oudh, labdanum, scarlet saffron, and pink pepper. Sweet woodiness with a slightly peppery, slightly incensy background. Pleasant.

Startled Toad - Golden amber and coconut with frankincense, frothy vanilla, carnation, sweet aged patchouli, and lemongrass. Coconut, check. Patch and frank... I think so. Amber and vanilla adding sweetness and... uh. Hm. Intense bitter edge with a lemony aftertaste. Okay. Lemongrass is weird on me. Then again, the bitterness is something of a foil to the otherwise creamy, coconutty sweetness. After all the lemon candy around here, I'm shocked to find something that doesn't scream lemon at me.

Tarot: Hermit - Clean and sweet and... nothing crazy special.

Visions of Autumn iii - bourbon vanilla, aged patchouli, honey, and ceylon cinnamon. No burning! The cinnamon is very very subtle. Strong honey (it's the fruity/juicy honey that is... sometimes iffy on a headache so be careful) - everything else blends in the background. Close to the skin, we'll see how long it stays (not very, I think) but it's LOVELY. (Later, fainter but still lovely. Way more lasting power than I would have guessed.

Weeping Branches Moon - Graceful, arching branches, heavy with plum and apricot blossoms, sweet ichigo, and a bouquet of peony, anemone, honeysuckle, spider lily, and hydrangea against a backdrop of luminescent, gently glowing lunar oils. My goodness, that's some fleurs you have there. And strawberries, apparently. I have to say, this is very very pretty and pink in nature. Girly goodness. I might actually wear this once in a while, though I'd really have to be in the mood for it. Um. Now it's just that overly sweet "perfume" smell that reminds me of nail polish remover or hairspray.
